Dan's Deal

Dan might be the HOH but he won't have much power. The deal that he made with Ollie makes Ollie the master of the house.

The deal was this: Ollie is safe as is one person of his choosing (Michelle). And then, if the POV is used then Ollie gets to name the replacement nominee. Dan was also able to choose one person safe from his side that won't go up on the block in any way this week. I believe that person is Keesha due to a conversation Dan had with her telling her she's good this week as well as a conversation that Ollie had with Michelle about it. But nobody knows for sure who Dan's safe person is.

This is just crazy! Dan may as well have let Ollie win the thing. Ollie had already promised Dan safety this week and it would have given Ollie the chance to do some dirty work instead of Dan now having to piss off his alliance by putting one of them up.

Undoubtedly, Jerry will be one of those that Dan nominates. I think Renny will probably be the other that gets the nod. And won't Renny be happy? She's still holding a grudge against Jerry about him putting her on the block the first week in the house. How do you think she'll act this week? And do you seriously think that if either Jerry or Renny (or anybody really) wins the POV they won't use it on themself? According to the deal, then Ollie gets to tell Dan who the replacement will be. Ouch.

The way I see it, Dan can only do one of two things. He can let Ollie call the shots but blame him later for it and use the excuse that he doesn't go back on his word. Or, he can tell Ollie that this is a game for money, he's the HOH, and he will make the decisions he sees fit for him. Then he can nominate Ollie and Jerry and tell the rest of the house about the ridiculous deal that Ollie had Dan to make. If it's to save their ass then surely they won't hold it against too bad.

But remember. We know there's a Fast Forward next week and they don't. There are going to be some pretty pissed off hamsters however the way the cookie crumbles. Dan and Jerry (if he's still there) are going to be easy targets for the second eviction that evening.

So what are your thoughts about this deal? What do you think Dan's going to do and what do you think he should do? What would you do if you were in his position?

Update at 10:49 AM - Dan just told Keesha up in the HOH room that the only part of the deal he made with Ollie that he'd be willing to go back on would be the POV thing. But that's only if things happened perfectly for him would he do it. BTW, Dan's told Memphis and Keesha that they have to work on keeping Renny calm this week. And Dan's also worried about how tight his group of four are because of the way Renny feels about Memphis.

And in case you haven't seen it yet, check out April's extended interview with Julie. LOL

I think Dan is not a smart player and just showed what an idiot he is.

Posted by: kurly at August 22, 2008 05:24 AM

I think Dan needs to play along with him and then try to back door Ollie, let his alliance know whats up and hopefully one of them will win POV go off the block and put Ollie up and send him out the door next week. Hopefully Jerry will be walking out right behind him. I would like to see Renny, Memphis, Dan, Michelle and Keesha duke it out to win.

Posted by: Barbie at August 22, 2008 05:29 AM

Stupid, stupid, stupid to make any deals. You either tough it out and win or throw in the towel. If Dan felt he absolutely needed to make it deal it should only have been to keep Ollie safe. Why give away the farm that you've just spent hours paying for with your own hard labor?

Hopefully Jerry's the next one out the door and the second one for the double eviction can be either Minute Man or Manchelle.

Can't wait for story time today, Drats!

HD, keep up the super job. Haven't missed a day since you started this blog many seasons ago. :D

Posted by: kayTee at August 22, 2008 05:34 AM

On one hand, Dan keeps 1/2 the promise, not to put up Ollie/Michelle. After all, April only kept 1/2 of her promise to Michelle.

On the other hand, I'm thinking Dan doesn't care who goes between M/J/R. Keesha may be the only one mad if Memphis goes but then Dan kept her safe.

Can't wait to hear Dan's diary room take on this one. I'm sure he has a plan!

Posted by: paminmn at August 22, 2008 05:39 AM

I dont think Dan is as stupid as beleived. Even if he follows along with Ollie's plan, he still gets HOH room, bathroom, pics & letters from home, and he is safe!! If he let Ollie win, its just Ollies word, and he would not be safe.
Im sure Dan has a plan. I hope so !!

The bad side is the FF next week. I think he is in trouble there, since he wont be able to play for HOH.

Posted by: bbug at August 22, 2008 05:50 AM

Geizzzzz........I really like Dan, but what is up with that deal? I think that he should definatley keep his promise up until the POV. Who ever wins the POV could use it and he should back-door Ollie's Ass. That guy hasn't played the game all season long. Why start now?

Posted by: GeorgiaGirl at August 22, 2008 05:52 AM

okay, i see why he did it...the first vote ight be a tie and he gets to break it...Jerry and Renny go up and jerry goes (or Renny does, since Dan might have figured out that "mom" is pretty shrewd)...the only flaw here is if jerry wins the POV (and he's good at that)...then, for the second vote, Dan is out of contention, so that's his only mistake (but,of course, he didn't know a double eviction was coming)...now, for the second HOH, Dan needs Memphis or Keesha to win, or he's going up, nominated by any of the other 4 who still remain, with only 3 voters deciding who goes to Julie for the night's second exit interview...now, if anyone would like my Kennedy conspiracy explanation, feel free to ask

Posted by: elytheeel at August 22, 2008 05:55 AM

If Dan keeps his word, he's an idiot. He needs to put Michelle and Ollie on the block.

Posted by: Psychodrew at August 22, 2008 06:00 AM

I think Dan made a big mistake. I think he could have outlasted Ollie. After the competition was over it was very obvious that Dan was still in much better shape than Ollie was... he was dry and not so cold and he could actually get up right away and walk away. Ollie would have fallen off very soon in my opinion so that's why I think Dan made a big mistake. As far as the deal he made... at least it gives him time to think and talk to his people and formulate a plan along with his group as to what to do.

Posted by: WheelChairMama at August 22, 2008 06:07 AM

Didn't Dan have his feet crossed while making the deal? Hummmmm... I hope he remembers he's Catholic and can go to confession as soon as he leaves the house!

Posted by: Dixie at August 22, 2008 06:14 AM

hopefully Dan only made that deal so he could get HOH and now he will turn on Ollie, this is NOT a game of honor and trust!

Posted by: jaime at August 22, 2008 06:18 AM

Dan told Ollie not to tell Michelle about the deal only that she is safe. The rest was suppose to be kept secret. Dan is a smart guy and I think that he set Ollie and Michelle up. If the 3rd deal gets out(that Ollie gets to pick who goes up only if POV is used, the deal will be off.(Meaning if Michelle goes to Memphis and tells him, he would tell Dan what she says.
I think Dan did this to see where everyone really stands. Like does Michelle and Memphis have an alliance, if she doesn't tell him about her being safe and all of the info she was told by Ollie, Dan will know that her alliance is with Ollie not Memphis. Dan could promise Ollie the moon, doesn't mean he is gonna stick with it. He has a stronger alliance with Keesha, Memphis, Renny, and we all know that Jerry will be right by his side and do what Dan wants. SO it's 4 against 2. I say he will put up Ollie and Michelle. Yeah they will be ticked, but who cares they are only two.

Posted by: Linda at August 22, 2008 06:24 AM

The only way Dan can keep his word(s) with Ollie are as follows:

Dan puts up Jerryatric and one of his alliance as pawn (gotta pick someone who does not get easily paranoid, perhaps Memphis).

With pov, as long as Jerry doesn't win, anyone else could go up, again as a pawn and Jerryatric still goes home.

Thereby Dan keeping his word(s) to Ollie and who could fault him for sending his biggest critic to Jury house?

Would be a perfect scenario for Dan, imho.

Posted by: Colleen with 2 "l's" at August 22, 2008 06:31 AM

Dan Is an IDIOT, why would he do that... I sure hope he has a plan .. or he is in BIG trouble ...this Fast Forward may be his demise.

Posted by: debbiehabba at August 22, 2008 06:31 AM

I understand why he made the deal, and they all make deals at the end of an endurance (that was a long time and I'm sure they were hurting bad). I missed the part where Ollie gets to choose who goes up with POV - that's just crazy. Again, I know Dan has seen enough of Big Brother (and from earlier when April didn't do what she said with Jesse being safe) to know that deals are made to be broken (not that he will break his word as he tries to stick with it when America isn't involved). I honestly don't think he trusted that he would be safe if he dropped (I don't think he trusted Ollie to keep his word because Ollie told him he would be in trouble with him if he didn't keep April in the house). As much as he wanted to see Monica, he made a deal for his own safety. But with so few people in the house and everyone else (except Jerry) is part of his "team", it's going to eat his lunch.

I too think it will be Jerry and Renny (which we know will seriously piss Renny off). I don't think he'll put up Keesha or Memphis (for fear Memphis would be voted off by Renny - he could trust Memphis more to keep Renny than Renny to keep Memphis). That way it's a tie and he gets to break the tie. The only horrible thing is if Jerry wins POV - which he's done twice now (and should have won last week - maybe this week will be the nasty drinking concoction POV and I don't think Jerry can do that).

I agree - if he could have trusted Ollie to keep his word and Dan safe no matter what - it would have been better for Ollie to win and do the dirty work. This way will get blood on Dan's hands and piss off people that liked him. Actually though, Renny kind of wrecked things with Dan last week and even by her HOH blog she has no problems of eliminating Dan. It's never as good as you hope even when the person you want to win, wins. Next week will be insane.

HD, am I remembering right that next week will be one of the two nominees evicted. HOH played for and won. That HOH will right then and there nominate two people for eviction. They will go out right away and play POV and use it or not. Then vote to evict the one of those two nominees named on Thursday night. Do I have that right? I tried to read everything, but missed some stuff last night when there were so many comments. I hope you haven't already answered.

Posted by: TexanBBfan at August 22, 2008 06:31 AM

Oops what if Michelle or Ollie win POV? Will they use it to take Jerryatric off the block thereby forcing Dan to nominate another from his alliance?

Not so good deal .... unless Dan/Keesha/Renny/Memphis win pov then Dan in trouble with his alliance. And who know what the other members in his alliance would do if he starts using them as pawns, may take down Jerryatric just to spite Dan...it's gonna get ugly...

Posted by: Colleen with 2 "l's" at August 22, 2008 06:36 AM

I think It was dumb dumb dumb for dan to make that type of Deal. Ollie gets to be HOH with out the bed room so big deal April is gone so he does not need his own room.
Renny is going to be very mad and I would not like to have the Mother of New Ol mad at me.

What was Dan thinks did the comp numb his head like it did his legs. Dan Dan Dan this just might lose to game for you.
Lets just hope he was playing Ollie like Dixie said and go back on the Deal that was made and go to confession when he gets out.
Good luck Dan looks like you will need it.

Posted by: catnip at August 22, 2008 06:38 AM

well, i hope dan had his fingers crossed...lol...it's time for dan to stand up and play the game like everyone else is.. LIE...he needs to tell memp, keesh, rennie what is going on with ollie, and then surprise ollie at the nominations with ollie and michelle being on the block, just tell it like it is....this is a game and i have to nominate the two biggest threats in the house and get one of them out...it's as simple as that....then hopefully ollie would be the first to go followed by michelle or even jerry....but ollie needs to go to the jury house to find out that this has been a game with april, she was just showing what a good actress she is..NOT...and that she really doesn't have true feelings for him as he has for her...GO DAN...kick ollies azzz to the curb...lol

Posted by: debi at August 22, 2008 06:45 AM

What the Hell is the idea behind telling Ollie he could pick the one to go up if the POV is used? That has to be the dumbest move I have ever seen (except maybe Marcellas) unless Dan doesn't plan to keep his word. Dan was clearly in better shape than Ollie at the end. He should have promised only Ollie safety and Michelle only as a last resort.

This places Memphis in a bad spot if Dan is not protecting him. Memphis better win POV and stop depending on others. They should have had lawyers writing up that agreement. I'm disappointed in Dan.

Posted by: absolon at August 22, 2008 06:48 AM

Did I miss something last night? I watched BBAD only until Ollie dropped, but it looked to me like Ollie was trying to get Dan to give up by offering deals, but Dan just held on. Dan made these deals AFTER he won HOH? WTF!?! It's like if McCain wins the presidency, and then he tells Obama, "Well, I just wanted to win, but I'll let you actually run the country. Congratulations" All day long I'm gonna be muttering to myself, "WTF?"

Posted by: gray at August 22, 2008 07:07 AM

No way can Dan stick to this deal. If he was going to do this idiotic deal (and follow through) don't you think he would have given up, and simply worried about staying safe himself this week? He certainly did not stay up there so Ollie could run the house and Dan could take the blame. Dan is way to smart for that.....
I have to believe he knows exactly what he is doing! And in the aftermath.... either goodbye Jerry, Ollie or Michelle!

GO DAN!!!! I still have faith in you.

Posted by: Sandiekay at August 22, 2008 07:08 AM

This could possibly be a good thing for Dan. It allows him to see what the alliances are. He should put up Jerry & Renny. His target is Jerryatric. Yeah Renny will be pissed but it would be good drama for the house. If Memphis, Keesha or Renny win POV he lets them in on his deal and his "plan". They take Renny off and he back doors Ollie. If Michelle or Ollie get POV Jerry goes. Even if they take Jerry off, he breaks his deal with Ollie and back doors him. This keeps them all safe and he was the hero. The key for him is that they all believe that it is Ollie doing the dirty work and he conceived this plan to keep them all safe. Otherwise he is a goner. jmho.

Posted by: Cricket at August 22, 2008 07:11 AM

What the hell is with the raincoat??? And the "gloves"? More help from the diary room, perhaps? These things will help put a HUGE target on his back, hopefully. I thought it was funny NOW Memphis, Dan, and Ollie finally attempt to win a competition. Dan CAN'T go back on his word to Ollie, unless he wants to lose TWO jury votes.

Posted by: Derek at August 22, 2008 07:15 AM

Dan needs to bargain with whoever...but he should have let Ollie win the HOH. He'll be out there for the next eviction. He needs to make his OWN picks. I hope he realizes this...but I'm afraid it's too late.

Posted by: cathy at August 22, 2008 07:16 AM

Even if he follows along with Ollie's plan, he still gets HOH room, bathroom...

THAT'S IT! Thank you. I could not figure it out, but what you said jolted me into the realization that Dan only wanted that beautiful HOH toilet all to himself. As long as he can sit on that throne all he wants, he doesn't care about anything else. Happy pooing, Dan!!!

Posted by: gray at August 22, 2008 07:19 AM

stupid to make a deal, ollie isnt hoh, dan is , put ollie and michelle up if one of them gets pov then put jerry up as pawn and one of them goes. next week is crucial. dumb move if dan doesnt do this he needs the numbers he cant play next week.

Posted by: meemee at August 22, 2008 07:30 AM

A backdoor of Ollie is the best answer! If not him, then Michelle. Don't think Dan is that dumb not to think down the road! I think he was doing alot of thinking up on that vine! He'll do what's best for him.
I could have been wrong about him wanting Jerry to the end. Maybe Keesha, he could win against her.
I voted Renny to get the phone call. Do you think Dan will ask her to be a pawn? What goes around, comes around!

Posted by: diff at August 22, 2008 07:38 AM

well as of last night everyone but jerry already knows dan made a deal to keep two people safe. ollie told michelle..which he wasn't supposed to do, he told dan he didn't. i was so angry at dan when he threw in the "second person deal." he might as well have dropped because he has absolutely no power this week...all he has is pictures and a letter!!! hope he is just being sneaky because when dan told memphis he had to make some deals and it "may get tough up in here now" i hope that it meant he was going to go back on his word and nom either michelle or ollie. this is a gem and promises should be meant to be broken.
i will lose a lot of admiration for dan if he follows through with this promise to ollie.

WHAT IS UP WITH THE FEEDS WE CAN NOT EVEN HEAR WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. WHO DO I CONTACT TO GET HAELP...

Posted by: TED at August 22, 2008 07:40 AM

This is so ridiculous.....the one time that Dan is in power and has a chance to shake things up and be liked by the house, he making a stupid deal with OLLIE which obviously will result in the house hating him and he going against his alliance. WTF is that all about. Obviously Ollie would seek revenge on these people who put April out and he will save Michelle who is his now closest ally......now why do you have to go against your crew who was with you through thick and thin. Another wasted HOH who if things go Ollie's way will sure have Dan being out Thursday night.
It should be Ollie, the Manchelle out..

Posted by: Whitney at August 22, 2008 07:40 AM

lol grey your right he like the HOH bathroom

Posted by: catnip at August 22, 2008 07:46 AM

This is a game. Who cares if deals are made. Deals are to be broken. What does morality, honesty or for that matter any noble cause good for on of all things, Big Brother a TV SHOW!!!!! Give me a break. Dan should nominate Renny (who is a weird and power hungry woman) and Jerry (who voice irritates me to no end, who also tells your off any time he wishes for no reason. Bah Humbug, He is worthless to this game. Michelle, I need not say anything, get rid of her. Ollie get rid of him. Since April is gone he will be lost and miserable. Let Dan, Memphis, Keesha play the game.

Posted by: Lynn at August 22, 2008 07:49 AM

For us, I think this is going to be the best week in the house this season. Dan will finally have to put all his cards on the table.

I do agree that if Dan does give that much power to Ollie, that he's either a schmuck or a genius (we'll see the schmuck part immediately but will have to wait for the genius part). But I think Dan's game strategy has been to shake all of the trees as much as he can so that he can see what falls on the ground and what he can use. I think that's what he is doing here with Ollie. He's trying to get information from him. I think it is too soon to decide if Dan has made a mistake or not because he hasn't done anything yet. Remember, Dan always says he is willing to talk to anyone.

Even if Ollie decides who goes up after POV, I think Dan still realizes that in a tie breaker, he has the deciding vote. If he is lucky enough to end up after POV with Renny and Jerry then he decides who goes. I think he might also be banking on Michelle's ties/previous ties to Memphis that Memphis could be safe in an eviction over Jerry or Renny.

I think Jerry and Renny are both dispensable to Dan and it would be advantageous for him to take one of them out. Renny is the most dangerous to him I think.

I think Dan is also banking on his "I'm always the swing vote" thing and believes he is valuable to more than one set of persons in this house and that in a double eviction, if he plays his cards right, he still comes out okay.

I only see one scenario for Dan to be in danger --if Renny gets HOH. This is who I figure each person finds the most dangerous to them and who they would get out if they could:

Renny -- Memphis or Dan
Keesha -- Ollie or Michelle
Memphis -- Ollie or Renny
Dan -- Renny or Jerry
Jerry -- Keesha or Memphis
Ollie -- Memphis or Keesha
Michelle -- Renny or Keesha

Posted by: BenF at August 22, 2008 07:59 AM

Have faith people........Dan is not going down in flames.........especially for Ollie and Michelle, just ain't gonna happen!

Posted by: Sandiekay at August 22, 2008 08:01 AM

Deals are made and deals are made to be broken. Dan, you have some 'splainin to do!! Hope he's going to really mix it up now.

Posted by: SuZieQ at August 22, 2008 08:02 AM

Nothing is sacred, so Dan is under no obligation to stick to the agreement. Say what you need to say to win. His team will back him on that. He needs to tell them that, and it will be fine.

Posted by: recelee at August 22, 2008 08:04 AM

It's a shared HOH. Dan just wanted pictures.
I think Jerry and Memphis will be put up this week and Memphis probably will be the one going to the jury. I doubt if Dan or Ollie will choose Renny to go on the block unless the POV is used then they have no chose then to put Renny up. Then Jerry would be the one going to the jury house. Darn, I wanted Michelle gone this week, oh well.

Ollie really was hanging on last night and almost won, it really surprised me. If by some chance Ollie and Dan end up the final two I wonder who would win the big money. Ollie might have put himself in the same position as Ryan of BB9. No one may want to give him the top prize because of April.

Posted by: Cerenay at August 22, 2008 08:07 AM

you guys have too much time on your hands..jerry's probably going home and i hope memphis follows him when ollie wins the next hoh..id like to show memphis where i come from you respect your elders..memphis is a bad man ..a very, very, very bad man (finger going back and forth like babu)

Posted by: alau53 at August 22, 2008 08:09 AM

I think people are getting carried away with this isn't actually a big of a deal as people are making it out to be. So Dan made a deal with Ollie, give him a break.

Dan won't put Ollie or Michelle up so more than likely he's going to put up Jerry who hates him and Renny's who he suspicious of anyway. Ollie will only get a chance to get to put someone up if the veto is used and more than likely the veto is not going to be used. The nominations will stay the same with Renny and Ollie on the block.

Posted by: DJ at August 22, 2008 08:19 AM

OK...I agree that Dan seems to have gotten more than a sore scrotem while hanging up there...seems like he got knocked senseless! My only hope is that Dan is planning to go back on his word d/t when he said.."ok..That was Lovey-Dovey..now Game on...Let's play this like Judas"
I'm hanging on to those words with the hopes that Dan's brains settled back down today and he puts up Michelle and Jerry with Ollie as the replacement if the POV is used!

Also...I dont think that Ole Pervie Bugger Man Jerryatric will win another POV..as the 2 that he did win was by default..IMO..because Libra really won that 1st POV yet took the trip instead and just let Jerry claim the POV...2nd POV that he claims to have won was when most of the others were trying for the Mystery Gifts..therefore IMO..that POV was given to him by default! and the last was just good guessing yet he wasnt confident enough with his choice therefore LOST to Dan! Guess y'all can tell...I dont like Jerry...LOL!

Should be interesting either way it goes this week...so Bring On The Drama!

Thanks HD...You Rock!

I am having a hard time keeping my breakfast down thinking Dan will honor his deal with Ollie, what is he thinking, its time to get Ollie and Michelle out. Next week is crucial. He needs to remember to keep his numbers he cant play for Hoh next week.

Posted by: meemee at August 22, 2008 08:28 AM

Oh Dan. DAN. Why would you make the lamest deal like that ever? And it makes me a little sick to see Ollie walking around like he owns the place. Either go back on your word and get rid of Ollie NOW or do some slightly underhanded dealings. *annoyed* Always stick it out, darn it, don't give someone else all the power. Grr, DANIEL.

Posted by: Brittany at August 22, 2008 08:28 AM

Given Dan's comments when he was finally alone in HOH..."...game on" and "play it like Judas" I think he's strongly leaning towards breaking his agreement w/ Ollie.

On the one hand, he might be smart to seize the opportunity to get rid of his semi-ally, Memphis, since he does suspect of Memphis playing all sides.

On the other hand, I wish he would get rid of Michelle!!!! That girl is whacked in the head in addition to being a huge threat.

As for her and Ollie's conspiracy theory that BB gave Dan a raincoat...hello! it's pretty common for these endurance comps to involve water or being sprayed with some other substance (like the foam in the disco ball comp in bb9). Maybe Dan actually had enough sense to know that, and know it gets cool in CA in the evenings, even in August. Note that Memphis had long sleeves, and a bandana which was presumably to keep the rain off his face, although he did lose it later...

On another note, have ya'll heard that Jen/Ryan broke up after she found out he cheated on her during an East Coast vacation w/ Matty? He is such a big galoot, she is well rid of him!

Posted by: Barbara at August 22, 2008 08:30 AM

If I were Dan, my nomination speech would be: "Well, I'm already known as Judas, so I put you, Ollie, and you, Michelle, on the block..." Talk to R, M & K in advance and make sure they understand what he doing. Get Michelle or Ollie out - neither of them are in his corner anyway, so he loses nothing by going back on his word to them.

Posted by: shopgirl at August 22, 2008 08:30 AM

Tell me if I'm right ---
Part of the "deal" was that they would NOT TELL ANYONE WHAT THE DEAL WAS.
BUT -- Ollie went straight to Michelle and told her every detail of the "deal".
In my opinion, Ollie broke the entire "deal", when he broke that part about not telling anyone.
I have to believe that Dan is very smart --- and I think that he knew that Ollie would not keep his part of the "deal". That's the reason that he added that part. I hope so anyway!!!!

Posted by: Barbie at August 22, 2008 08:43 AM

OKAY, FIRST let me say I am so incredibly pissed off !..(excuse the french)..lol WT ?!

I would have told Ollie you are safe. THATS BAD ENOUGH... BUT NEVER Michelle, there was NO reason to go that far.
I would Keep Ollie safe, keeping my word there. Only to say no to his Nominations saying he has to keep himself safe and his (ollie's Noms) are to dangerous for him... The rest of it I would say the same too.
He might as well have given it to him. THIS is Horrible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dan said a couple things to himself in the HOH "Okay lets go Judas" and "Games on !!" I am PRAYING that he means screw you ollie, He can't be THAT dumb...or can he ? Oh HD I am such a disapointed BB'er

Hi!

I think Dan will put up Renny and Jerry.

Backdoor Ollie or Michelle if someone wins POV..

Posted by: ccc3s at August 22, 2008 09:21 AM

I realize that people want to like Dan, he's nice and innocent and everything. But THIS IS BIG BROTHER! It's the 10th season. THey should know by now that Hamsters *always* say they'll keep their word and they all eventually lie, everyone betrays and is betrayed. Play the game, teacher boy. Like other BB bible thumpers before him, I hope Dan goes back on the deal and starts some serious drama.

Drama = scheming, new deals, shouting matches, etc. I hope they make Keesha drink a bottle of wine every day. I hope Jerry (PawPaw!)flushes Dan's cross necklace down the toilet. I hope they give Memphis a personality.

And I hope that, as a result of this stupid deal and his general dullness, Dan is the second person to leave next week.

Posted by: Smark at August 22, 2008 09:26 AM

Dan may be in a good position. Even if he does piss off Keesha, Renny, Memphis he could still earn enough votes with the others if he is in the final two. I see it as a win win situation. Does anyone agree with this scenario?

Posted by: xtex88 at August 22, 2008 09:43 AM

"GAME ON" AND "PLAY IT LIKE JUDAS" SAYS ALOT. DANS WORDS LAST NIGHT IN HOH AFTER HE WAS ALONE.
DANS GOT SOMETHING UP HIS SLEEVE SO I AM FEELING A BIT BETTER THAN I DID LAST NIGHT.
BUT DAMN DAN, WHY YOU GOT TO PLAY US LIKE THAT?

Posted by: callie44 at August 22, 2008 09:53 AM

It comes down to this, if Jerry wins POV, one of Dan's "alliance" will have to be evicted. But otherwize, Jerry will 99% surely be evicted. And I bet Renny goes on the block, but I guess the first round Ollie chooses who besides Jerry to put on the block. Dan will reassure whoever that Jerry is the target, and he has the votes to evict him. Tell them to make sure they win POV, he did his part by winning HOH. Then if there's a tie, Dan breaks it. If disaster happens, then Dan says it's all Ollie's fault, but he still has his #1 allie Keesha on his side. Alliances at this stage larger than 2 don't really work anyway. Renny started this cr*p last week, so she deserves what she gets this week. If all else fails, Dan can break his ageement with Ollie, what's he gonna do, take away his birthday??? Ollie and Michelle were already Dan's enemy anyway, so breaking the absurd agreement wouldn't hurt Dan that much, and may actually be expected. How many agreements have you seen carried out that were made hanging in the air lately? None. Not James, not Sheila, and not April...so what, with that track record anyone's a fool to believe an agreement under the pressure of a comp anyway. I believe Dan will get tough if he has to. In my opinion, he simply told Ollie what Ollie wanted to hear last night, but in the end, Dan has the power, and he knows it. So I'm not all that disappointed in Dan after I thought about it.

Posted by: Dee at August 22, 2008 10:00 AM

here's the other issue.. sure memphis would be safe in dans eyes if he put him up with jerry. problem...big problem!... is renny wants memphis out so no matter what keesha wants (to keep memphis) memphis has two votes against him...ollie and renny...maybe three if michelle dumps memphis. which she probably has knowing her insane ass. of course they will all tell dan memphis is safe but in reality they will push memphis out the door.
if that happens dan is dead to me DEAD I TELL YA!!
errg

Posted by: CAllie44 at August 22, 2008 10:00 AM

Well, guys, it looks like were going to have to bring back the 'Boys' Club from the not too distant past. If Dan's going to make a deal such as it is, then it sounds like an automatic segue. If the alliance between Dan and Memphis means anything, then they must protect each other. Furthermore, if Ollie wants to protect Michelle, and Dan says Keesha's safe, who's left? Renny and Jerry. Simple, Jerry goes to the jury.

Posted by: pwilly at August 22, 2008 10:09 AM

Maybe this will be another Jen/Kaysar scenario where Dan will just put Ollie and Michelle on the block. It would be a bold move. If one comes off put Jerry on.

Posted by: RichF at August 22, 2008 10:10 AM

P.S. Of Course Dan's going to have to face THE WRATH of RENNY the rest of the game. Such is the spoils of war...

Posted by: pwilly at August 22, 2008 10:18 AM

What a dilema Dan, to keep your word or not? First of all me thinks you gave away way too much.
Ollie is safe, a 2nd person of Ollie's choice is safe, Ollie chooses who is nominated, If POV is used Ollie again chooses who goes up if somebody comes down!
WTF! If Dan keeps his word, for all intents and purposes, Ollie is HOH bud Dan gets the bedroom.
But, if Dan breaks his word, even on the POV part, wouldn't Dan be in trouble if Ollie or Michelle wins the next HOH?
I don't know, IMO there was no need to make a deal that big.

Posted by: bbfanindallas at August 22, 2008 10:33 AM

I cant watch tell me what happens :)

Posted by: meemee at August 22, 2008 10:37 AM

Thank you for your hilarious post Smark! I literally laughed out loud! "Teacher boy" - HA!! So funny!! :o) And the stuff about Keesha & Memphis - such a hoot!
But I do still love Dan, I can't help it. :o)

Posted by: Lisa at August 22, 2008 10:43 AM

What would I do in Dans position? NEVER MAKE THE STUPID DEAL IN THE FIRST PLACE!! What is he thinking? I hope he is just puting on a show and will go back on this word!! If not then he is the stupidest hg this year IMO. I liked him before last night but if this is for real, he is an idiot!!!

Posted by: stacey at August 22, 2008 10:48 AM

I hope Dan has something up his sleeve that we all don't know about by making such ridiculous deals with Ollie. I just don't think he'd hand over his power that way without knowing what he's doing. By Dan asking Ollie the questions about who else he'd want safe informs Dan and everyone else that Ollie and Michelle are in cahoots, IMO.

Dan has played the game too safe and now is his time to shine and do what will get him ahead to win the $$ -- not what Ollie wants. And, he's always been quiet, observant, makes himself sound dumb, but in fact, that's all part of his game. Something tells me that Ollie isn't gonna know what hit him. At least I hope so.

It would be too stupid of Dan to hand everything over as HOH Master to Ollie without a backfire plan in mind and that may just mean going back on his word. We'll all forgive you Dan, and you can make this a fierce week in the house by playing for you and no one else.

Prove to us that you are smarter than a 5th grader!

Posted by: djk at August 22, 2008 10:56 AM

Happy Dan won HOH but I'm very worried that with double eviction next week, he will be a big target. Winning endurance will make even his own alliance edgy about keeping him. Did Dan give Ollie his word, or just say you are safe? I was having a terrible time hearing it on BBAD.
Oh I do hope Dan has a plan!!

Posted by: Jo at August 22, 2008 11:01 AM

If dan goes back on any part of his word he is scum!!!

Posted by: Kimberly at August 22, 2008 11:05 AM

I think Dan is diabolical. He planned on getting rid of Renny all along. He knows she is his biggest competition to win it all.He sees right through her. He knows she is gunning for him and Memphis. After her HOh last week asking her alliance to go up as pawns, he knows she is a loose cannon. This way her buddy Ollie, the one she likes and wouldn't put up gets the blame. The icing on the cake is Jerry goes up too. This way Jerry will see that Ollie doesn't have his back either.I agree with other posters that he also wants to shake the tree and see where the monkeys fall. The only problem is if Jerry or Renny win POV.Then he will have to do some fancy footwork to stay safe. I hope he doesn't piss off too many Hamsters. He won't have time to smooth things over with a double eviction next week. Then I may have to sadly say goodbye to my favorite Hamster. If I remember correctly, isn't that were The Original America's Player, Eric got the boot?

Posted by: Kim at August 22, 2008 11:24 AM

If Dan goes back on any part of his word he is scum? Give me a break.....this is a game, and part of the game would be pulling a great scam over on some unsuspecting fools........hello Ollie and Michelle.

HD and assorted other Shiny Happy Hamster People,

Forgive me for being a bit off topic, but the DRATS-ter has a new toy and he's just itching to try it out.

I just came from Circuit City, where I purchased a copy of "Microsoft, Big Brother Translator Version 3.0" and I thought it might be a real hoot to try it out for the first time with my Silly Hamsters pals. Basically, the program allows the user to input any direct quote from the BB television program, and then provides a full translation of the statement's true meaning.

Bear with me a moment while I read the instructions... Uh-huh. According to this user manual, we simply type in the exact quote and press any key to translate. Sounds easy enough...

(2 minutes later) Alright, so where's the flippen "any" key?!? Damnit, I'm sorry. Hang on a bit while I call technical support.

(45 minutes later) Okay, I umm...uhh... needed to download a new driver. Yeah, that's it. It was a driver problem. That's the ticket. We should be good to go now. Just let me cue up the Big Brother episode that I TiVo-ed from last night and we'll get started.

Hmmm... So who should we try first? How about April? After all this is probably the last chance we'll have to find out what's going on behind that massive metopic protuberance of hers until the final show. (THANK THE GODS)

Okay, we need to find a good segment. Here we go. The conversation between Fivehead and Minute Man about why she was nominated. Perfect, let's try it...

Fivehead- "I haven't done anything. They have no reason to put me up on the block. None. Zero. I haven't done anything to'em. I haven't turned on any of'em. I haven't lost my word with any of'em. None. Zero. Nothing. Expect do dishes annnd, make cakes annnd, give people stuff."

-TRANSLATION -
Poor me. Wah-wah-wah. Wah. Wah. Wah-wah. I am redundant. I am redundant. I say again; I repeat my self. Wah. Wah. Whoa is me. Feel sorry for me. Wah-wah-wah. Wah. Wah. Once or twice I actually tried cleaning up after myself and accepting some of the responsibilities of the house. Why didn't anyone throw me a party for it? Wah. Wah. I tried to bribe Michelle with earrings. Wah-wah-wah. Wah. Wah. Nothing's worked. Poor me.

OMG, it sounded just like Charlie Brown's teacher! This thing works great! Let's try something else from April later in the show when she's talking to Julie...

Fivehead- "Um, You know what? I have... I have nothing bad to say about Keesha. Um, sometimes you just get along with people and sometimes you don't. Um, when you first enter the house you really want to trust people. Um, so I mean that's just your first instinct and so my first instinct was to trust her and then she turned on me. So, umm...

-TRANSLATION-
Julie, you bitch! Why are you asking me about her? This is MY show! It's supposed to all be about me! What, you think I'm stupid enough to trash talk her now the way I did in the house? Please? Don't you know the editors from Maxim are watching? Of course I'm gonna feed you a line of crap. Do you really think I want the world to know that from the first moment I laid eyes one Keesha I viewed her as a threat because she might be prettier than I am? Or that I'm such a narcissist, I assumed she'd be just as jealous of me as I am of her? Damnit Julie, shut up about that fake-boob bitch and ask me if I'm interested in doing movies!

That was priceless. This has to be the best $39.95 I've ever spent. Let's try someone else now. How about Jerry? Perhaps we should try a briefer quote this time. Ah, here's something from his eviction speech.

Colonel Klink - "My word is my word."

-TRANSLATION-
If you're the one in power at the time, I'll promise you whatever you want, and I'll keep my word so long as it serves my purposes, or keeps me safe for another week. However, the moment the power shifts elsewhere my word holds its value about as well as a 1985 Yugo.

Ouch. Hey, I wonder if this program works on people featured on Big Brother who aren't actually houseguests? Let's give Ollie's Dad shot...

Ollie's Dad- "I would say what made my son, Ollie what he is today is the up-bring'en. I think bein' a Christian ten's to give'a chile morals, prissy-ples, an integrity. An I think those morals an principles iz in him now. Iz callin him ta be the young man dat we're proud of today."

-TRANSLATION-
Clearly I'm living in Fantasyland. In fact, I'm so out of it that you could put a picture of Courtney Love in front of me and I'd still swear on a stack of my church's bibles that it's the Virgin Mary. Hell, I'm almost as deluded as that skank my son isn't really having sex with. No wonder he's in love with her. Ollie's always taken after his mother and April's really just a white, female, slightly better spoken version of me.

Oh this just too yummy. We have to try another one...

Ollie's Dad- "I'm not very clear, to the knowledge of sho-mass. I'm don' know if dis is a real sho-mass or if i'sa fake sho-mass. But uh, if the show-mass is real; Go son. If da show-mass is a fake then watch yourself."

-TRANSLATION-
The only thing more perplexing to me then the proper meaning of the word, "show-mance" is it's pronunciation. But as I clearly have neither the desire nor the capacity to speak with any semblance of grammatical precision anyway...

*CRASH*

Aww, Come on! Figures we'd get slammed with the "MS Blue Screen of Death" just as it was just getting good. Burn in hell Bill Gates!

DRATS

P.S. As an interesting side-note to today's post, all of the quotes listed were taken directly from yesterday evenings Big Brother episode. Moreover, a great deal of care was taken not only to accurately quote the words verbatim, but also to provide a precise printed representation of the any additional vocal inflections or grammatical exploitations made by the person/s being quoted.

Now here's where it gets a bit eerie...

Bearing in mind that when writing yesterday's post I truly had no idea in what manner Ollie's dad would speak, read today's actual quotes (or if you have it TiVo-ed go back and watch him) and then re-read the "Rev. Daddy" character in my wedding post from Yesterday. One word... Creepy.

Benf,

Great post today! The royalty check for my quotes is in the mail, right? LOL

I must say of all the quotes, Diff's is my favourite. There's allot to be said for being concise. (Of course we always envy that which is lacking in ourselves.)

Anywho, capital job ole boy! We should send it to the David Letterman, "...from the home office in Grand Rapids, Michigan."

Dan has really confused me with his deal. He has to make sure that he isn't voted out next week and Ollie is just one person with a vengence. Michelle swings to the left and swings to the right so many times, who knows. She needs to go. That was my hope until this fiasco. But maybe Dan the Man has a Plan. He is always thinking of what to do to get him to the end, but then, they are voted on. Maybe he doesn't mind coming in second? If he gets to the final three and then to the final two it will take a miracle and I like Dan.

I never would have made a deal with Ollie. Ollie is avenging his love muffin and can't be trusted.

The paranoia is getting a bit much and Renny is about to blow, so is Memphis. I haven't even turned on 24/7 today because of this freaking deal. It's too weird to listen to Ollie and Michelle being the April and Ollie without the sex.

Posted by: Kay at August 22, 2008 12:49 PM

I just watched the extended interview and I do believe that April has managed to accomplish one thing ( in her own mind of course )... she's a virgin again!!!! The skank is trying to convince the world she is as pure as the driven snow!!!!

Posted by: WheelChairMama at August 22, 2008 01:03 PM

Dan is a camera geek. He is all about "making love" to the camera. For him, HOH is about more camera time, snacks, and probably pictures of his gay football team. Happy posing Dan.

("I'm voting for 'J' 'J' 'J'.... APRIL)

ah. good one.

Posted by: Lisa at August 22, 2008 01:06 PM

I think Dan is trying to think too far ahead here-I believe he wants Memphis out eventually, but he needs him now to get Jerry out. Renny knows Memphis can work both sides, so she's wary of this- but I don't think she has any choice right now. I'm thinking Dan is trying to get a final 4 of him, Ollie, Keesha, and Renny. (Ollie would probably take him over the ladies so he doesn't make April upset. Keesha and Renny would take each other more likely, but if one of them goes in 4th, Dan's in the final two regardless...) He knows Memphis is dangerous, so if Jerry can pull out a POV win, he can get rid of Memphis with the "I had no choice" argument....

basically if Jerry doesn't win POV, he's gone. If he does, then things get interesting- and the double eviction next week becomes more important. (Julie didn't say it was a Fast Forward, but it probably is to give the behind the scenes people an easy time over the Labor Day Weekend..)

Posted by: David at August 22, 2008 01:20 PM

After reading all the posts I have to say that the one making the most sense to me was Linda. She said that Dan told Ollie he could tell Michelle that she was safe but that neither of them could tell anyone else that or any other part of the deal. Now all he has to do is sit back and see if Michelle goes running to Memphis with this. If she does then he knows she has an alliance with Memphis; if she doesn't she has a stronger alliance with Ollie. But we all know MIchelle... she will 100% for sure tell someone and that is Dan's escape clause. It breaks the deal and he can go back on his part of it or all of it, but especially the POV part.

I think Dan was very very smart when he made this deal now that I've had time to read opinions and think about it. He can, if Michelle acts like she always does, come out smelling like a rose and if not then he can do what everyone else would do and just break the deal!

Posted by: WheelChairMama at August 22, 2008 01:22 PM

Memphis is NERVOUS !!I don't know guys, Dan is up in the HOH laughing at Ollie running around saying "look at Ollie doing damage control" with Michelle and laughing cause Michelle is all nervous cause Dan doesnt want to talk to her. Sooooooooooo Maybe Dan has a plan ? I did hear the plan IS to BACKDOOR Michelle!!!! Oh I hope so..cause this ollie strutting around like he knows a secret , telling Jerry "don't worry I JUST know" that THEY are going up. is making me SICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Kells at August 22, 2008 01:23 PM

DRAT - Creepy is right, and getting creepier. Kudos on your ebonirific skills of clairvoyance!

Can your machine translate quotes from other silly cultural groups? How about tranny Foxy Boxers, womanizing bartenders, dentally challenged waitresses, or selectively religious schoolteachers?

Posted by: Smark at August 22, 2008 01:29 PM

I think Dan let his love life and need to see/hear family get in his way last night. What a stupid move. But, of course, it would be nice if Dan would back door Ollie. Ollie is so sure of himself now. Shoot him back down to size. Ollie could not have made it much longer last night. Religion or not I'd have to go against my word for the game. He is just placing himself in a bad way. Only time will tell, huh?

HD, will someone please tell me about Memphis not eating slop last week........did he use his slop pass???

Posted by: lynn0538 at August 22, 2008 01:37 PM

Lisa, I think I heart you. I want to be your first boyfriend and move to Arizona with you.

You know that for the past several years, when he wasn't auditioning for the past 4 seasons of BB, Dan has been holed up in his parents' basement practicing for his BB camera debut. I'm sure he makes Monica (oh that poor foolish girl, assuming she is real) pretend to be Mrs. Chen and interview him. His loudtalking at the camera in the diary room is sooooo irritating.

Posted by: Smark at August 22, 2008 02:11 PM

All I have to say about the interview with Julie and especially the one on housecalls is GAG!

Posted by: xtex88 at August 22, 2008 02:23 PM

OMG Michelle is up in he HOH KISSING BUTT,
"Oh I was the only one who hugged you", I am SO glad you won", How come you had that Jacket ?" How come you never wore it before"? " and ONCE again telling how she got screwed by getting stuck..

here it comes....I saved you she says !, I have NO idea what the deal is with ollie (OH RIGHT)....
but I voted for YOU to stay didn't put you up...
oh you sent my GOOD friend home but I saved you...
not sure what you have going on with the ones downstairs but...
you can trust me...be careful with THOSE people..
Michelle can't beleive Ollie did that for her and if she gets HOH next week Dan is safe.
Im all by myself she says.. (boo freakin' hoo)
he said he has NO alliance with the others.
he told her she will see with the nominations...
I dont know if I will get put up if comes to the POV...
I am honest with you..I didnt come after you..
( Dan) after Nominations I hope your happy..
oh she had got (friend)20 minutes before the HOH ..LMBO
He wants to talk to her after Nominations..
now she wants to know who offered the money..(fishing) he isnt telling.
(Pucker up harder and she will cave her face in folks)I have a feeling Nominations will tell us alot more so after and maybe we will see the plan of Mr Dan...
I feel Nominations will be Memphis and Jerry.

Cross your fingers that Dan is smarter than this deal and he is lieing....

Posted by: Kells at August 22, 2008 02:34 PM

If Dan is so stupid not to put Ollie and Manchelle on the block then he needs to be thrown under the bus. What an idiot move it would be not to put them up. Good Grief.

Posted by: angusmacinnes at August 22, 2008 02:39 PM

Does none of them remember Dr. Will. He said it right up front the first time he was on the show. "I will lie, cheat and steal to win." Have these hamsters missed the basic premise of this game. Is to win. Not make friends with the other contestants. Okay, I am thru now. :)

Posted by: angusmacinnes at August 22, 2008 02:45 PM

lmao Drats very creepy!
Yesterday when I read your post my thought was...*Now why does he have Ollie's dad 'sounding' like that* lol But once the segement started and Dad started talking all I could do was laugh as I thought about your post. You were dead on! *cues theme from The Twilight Zone*

Why didn't someone from production help Ollie's dad with the word showmance aka "sho-mass" HA!

As for Dan I don't think that he will make any major changes to his deal. Breaking the deal with Ollie would already equal 3 ppl in the jury house that would not vote for him should he make it to the end.

Smark....I'm with you let the DRAMA begin! Pleaseeeee? lol

Posted by: bb10_observer at August 22, 2008 03:06 PM

Maybe Dan is smarter than the houseguests think..looking forward to the nominations..did anyone else notice Michelle calling Jessie her "boyfriend in the house"? So deluded she is..
Thanks again, DRATS, for not letting us down..we so look forward to your postings..you speak with such empathy at times..

Posted by: SuZieQ at August 22, 2008 03:54 PM

I am so mad! I dont even wanna watch this week. Dan was one of ones who said most "what the hell happens to people when they get HOH"? This honesty and loyalty BS is driving me crazy. Michelle is gonna win this game...I can see it now. I really thought Dan was smarter than this. In my experience in watching BB, the jury votes all kinds of ways no matter what you do to secure votes. So it really doesnt matter if he pisses them off or not. Their minds are pretty much made up the minute they leave the house. I dont think they would vote for Dan to win in the 1st place because they will propably be pissed at themselves for not getting him out from the get go when he was hangin on by a thread. Then they all think he is AP, that is another reason. So he just needs to be happy with a possible 50k and put Ollie and Michelle up!!! Gawwwwd

Posted by: lynn at August 22, 2008 04:05 PM

LMAO when Dan stayed in HOH room & wouldn't let Jerry/Ollie/Michelle come in for strategy... I've always wished that somebody would do that... thanks Dan!

Hope Dan puts up Ollie & Michelle - more LMAO.

last but not least: "Oh I hope so..cause this ollie strutting around like he knows a secret , telling Jerry "don't worry I JUST know" that THEY are going up. is making me SICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Me too! Makes me think of a short/bald black man version of uuuhhhhh ... April... LOL

Thanks for posting the extended interview with Julie and April. I can not believe April is getting away with her whorish behavior. No one has called her out and no one has let her know how America really does not like her. I am waiting for House Calls to be uploaded and I hope Gretchen and the callers give it to her. BB has really tried to portray April as a little princess and it makes me SICK!

One thing that stands out in my mind and is bothering me to no end right now is how Keesha is so obviously selfish and incapable of showing compassion or care for the others, and yet she is skating by under the radar and has now gotten Dan under her spell, as well as Memphis, Renny and possibly Jerry and Michelle.

Ollie is the only one that really has it out for her at this point and that is because his skank called her a cunt/whore/bitch.

What really helped me remember how self centered Keesha was is how she acted when all the guys finally started dropping after hanging from those ropes for over three hours in the wet and cold. Jerry, Michelle and Renny all jumped up and did their best to help the guys suffering from hypothermia get warmed up and under blankets. Keesha did not a damned thing. Once the others had put in the work to get the guys in warm clothes suddenly there Keesha was already kissing the new HOH's ass. The lame ass that has barely cooked a thing the whole time in this house was acting like Julia Childs baking up a batch of warm cookies for Daniel, and making a big scene about doing it for him as well.

Keesha needs to go, of all the remaining HG's it is her I would like to see win nothing, nada, zilch.

I am hoping that Renny and Dan are not really that obtuse and see her as she actually is. Perhaps they are wanting to bring her to the end with them because they know she already has two votes against her in the sequester house.

She should finish in third, just outside of any money, that would make me happy.
