One Week In

Last night's show was yawn-inducing to say the least. Except for the food competition, we weren't shown anything that hadn't already been seen days and days and days ago and the diary room clips weren't even all that.

The food competition looked like a fun one though. Seeing as how Big Brother paid special attention to Libra's and April's bitching about the teams, you just know Tuesday's show is going to include the big blowup between Libra, Jerry, and Renny.

So what are you thinking about Big Brother 10 so far? The feeds have been on just over a week now and it's given us all a chance to get a good feel about what makes the hamsters tick. How well do you like them as a group?

Are you appreciating that there's no twist (at least yet) and do you think that's good or bad? Does this season have a chance at being better than BB9? Better than BB8? I actually think it has potential to be better than BB6. Anyway, let me know what you're thinking in the comments!

I like them okay, but still haven't got the feeds for this year. I really like Libra, so there must be something on the feeds that I'm missing. However, I don't like Jessie at all. There is such a thing as too much muscle! He needs to cover that stuff up with a shirt or something, because it just looks gross. All the women know that men with muscles like that have shriveled testicles, anyways! I'm also starting to like Steve and Angie a bit.

Posted by: sandic at July 21, 2008 04:27 AM

Steven got caught in a Lie they all be it in the game but everyone could see him in the kitchen when they were in the HOH room, you have to pick the right time to lie and that was not it. Bye Steven. I dont know how much longer the group is going to put up with April and Libra so there time in the house might be short.

Posted by: catnip at July 21, 2008 04:42 AM

OMG! this year is soooo much better. When these people play nice together they are a trip. And they can still backstab with the best. Who needs the stupid Twists?

Posted by: deb at July 21, 2008 04:49 AM

I am really digging this cast, very entertaining. I love how creative they are when they put the shows on for us. I'm loving me some Memphis; the puppet show and now the Boring BB late night show, he is so damn funny.

Even though I can't stand Zebra she does make good TV, it would be boring if everyone got along.
My biggest bitch about her; is her reasoning about wanting someone nominated and then how she wants the noms to be shuned. When and Where did that become a rule?, "No talking to the people on the block". WTF; she is such a tool (loved it when Steven called Jessie a tool over and over)

My favorites right now are Angie, Keesha, Renny, Dan and Jerry by default because he gives my favs another number. I can only hope and pray Memphis ditches his stupid alliance and jumps over to the "Light Side" *LOL*.

I believe this season does have the best cast we have seen in a long time. Thank God we don't have any young 20 somethings in there whining, they have been replaced with late 20 somethings whining but it's a different kind whining one that is more tolorable (Does that make any sense?)

Great job this season HD, keep up the great work.

From HD - Her name is Libra.

Posted by: CoachCher at July 21, 2008 05:02 AM

Jessie needs to go ASAP. HOH is going to his head. He's still going on and on about how Renny didn't apologize to him, even though she did twice. Young, arrogant and egotistical is what he is.

Posted by: Bill K at July 21, 2008 05:24 AM

I don't really *like* anyone past Steven and Renny. Steven, because I can relate to the southern & gay thing, and Renny because shes just so funny.

BB10 better then BB6? No way. I liked everyone that season. This season? Not so much. I find myself angry more then excited. It just seems like they're all so stupid... such "tools", as Steven said.

But if I HAD to pick someone to win, it would be Memphis. I also hope he switches sides at some point, and throws all of Jessie and gang under the bus... I sort of doubt it at this point, but whatever.

Also, if I hear Jerry say ONE MORE THING about the armed forces, I WILL THROW UP. How can he relate EVERYTHING to that? "Mmm Pancakes!" "Well, when I was in the Marines...." Sheesh!

Posted by: Brian at July 21, 2008 05:35 AM

HD I'm glad to see I wasn't alone in feeling the Sunday show was a snorefest. I think it is just too long from Wednesday to Sunday. Too much happens that we all know about and then Sunday comes and they only cover some of it (saving it up for Tuesday) and that makes it all feel like old news. Especially when the house is volitile and people swap sides regularly.
So far I'm enjoying this season a lot more than 9. I don't really have any favorites right now but I do like a few of them. Last season it was a struggle to find which hamster I didn't want to see go home immeadiately.
I don't get the "shun the nominees" thing that is going on. Or how you can be "contaminated" by talking to them. Guilty by association - lordy if I have to hear that rant again I might stop watching the feeds. Don't they realise that each and every one of them will sit in those chairs? Now one gets out unscathed. That is the game.

Was it just me or does CBS not like Jessie? I'm not a Jessie fan by any means. There were long diary room sessions about how Jessie loves his muscles, close ups of eye rolling, and then all of Jessies diary room clips highlighted his love of self and lack of charm.

I'm not a fan of showmance. If you can't keep it in your pants for a couple of months you shouldn't be going into the house. Flirting - fun to watch, writhing under the covers thinking people don't know what's going on under there - not so fun. Makes me feel kinda creepy. Ever have a room mate and go to their room to ask them something, or get something only to open the door to an intimate moment that made you want to sink through the floor? Or have a loud room mate/neighbour that left you in doubt as to when they were "knocking boots"? Makes me feel like a creepy peeping tom. Remember when it was a big deal that Howie wanted to jack off? Now it seems to be expected.
Brian I know it's been a while since season 6 but you really liked all of them? ALL of them??? the entire "I'm so better than you because you are all big whores and liars and name callers and we are so pure and good that everyone must just love to watch us" Nerd Herd? I'm surprised my tv lived through that season - more than once I wanted to throw things at it.

Ok, I know, I'm ranting again. So to recap: Like the new season, don't like Sunday shows, don't get the mentatlity of shunning the nominees, want less sex and more fun.

OMG!! this grup is making me crazy! who the heck do they think they are! i have never seen HOH go to someones head like it has Jessie, get over yourself, i personaly think you look gross! I'm not a big fan of Renny, but at this point i hope she takes it all the way, just to piss the sick friends alliance off! Ok, done ranting, feel better, hagd all!

I like Angie, she seems real. I can relate to her most. I also like Steven. Dislikes so far...April- too immature, Michelle- talks to much, (is that even a Port. accent?), Jessie- immature & has to have the last word, Libra- ? starting to get on my nerves just b/c like Keesha says always trying to be in every damn conversation. Her and April are hypocritical, they don't realize that are doing the same thing they accuse other people of. Angie's right, she should not have to justify every little thing that happens with her in order for people to stop talking mess about her. I'm rooting for Angie so far. Memphis...don't know yet, seems okay for now. Ollie...whatever. I need to catch up...thanks for the info and feeds!

Posted by: Hailey at July 21, 2008 07:12 AM

this mite end up being the best since bb2 and bb3..maybe because the producers went back to the no twist ideas last seen in bb3..libra seema like a nice middle class mom on cbs broadcast but on shotime after dark she changes her personality to unlikeable and ghetto calling people baby and all that..the season would've been better if the body builder didnt win pov last week and was kicked off instead of brian who if he had laid back would have gone far in this game

Posted by: alau53 at July 21, 2008 07:35 AM

die hard bb fan here. though some of the seasons have been less than par i am still a big fan. we have to realize that you can get a few bad batches sometimes. this seaon is great a lot of scheming and playing both sides. i agree about the not talking to the other side give me a break how are you supposed to find out key info to use hello! also there are not a lot of floaters this year. i dont think with this crew you really can. i am rooting for memphis, mechelle, , angie and jessie. they seem to have good head on there shoulders and understand the game better. well happy feed watching!!!! love you silly hamster i am devoted to this site !!!!

Posted by: robin at July 21, 2008 07:37 AM

Angie - I like her. She seems genuine, yet competitive enough to be able to be conniving when it becomes necessary. I think if more people would use this same strategy of getting to know people on a more deep level, perhaps the game would be more interesting. You can tell that when she's asking people questions that she cares about the answer they give, and she doesn't seem (yet I can't prove she isn't doing it) to be bitching behind others backs about something very general. She has details if she's upset about something. She's just damn smart and articulate and I think anyone in the house that doesn't befriend her will be missing out.

April - She seriously needs to close her legs, stop batting her eyelashes, and start playing more than just Ollie.

Dan - I like Dan because he's loyal, and hopefully that single act of honor will keep him in the game long enough for it to flip.

Jerry - I want Jerry to stay in the game because I'd like him to be a real example to not only the people he's living with but to the viewers as well. I liked what he said about energy the other day. If you expend energy, you get more, if you lay around because you have no energy you have even less. Too bad Keesha and Libra didn't hear that. I'm glad I did, because I needed that kick in the pants.

Jessie - I don't like him, but he has entertained me once - when he was the Frenchman in the Gay Antique show. He is very conceited, but I think you have to be in order to be a body builder. If only he knew how unattractive that is to the majority of women, perhaps he wouldn't be quite so cocky. He is unwilling to see anything from someone else's standpoint (but he is very young) and he insists you listen to him without interrupting, but he will not do you the same courtesy.

Keesha - She reminds me so much of a more mature Daniele Donato. She still whines, but it is not quite so annoying. Her foul mouth takes something away from her beauty. Even when she tried to look silly and put on too much makeup for the Bored Show, she was still very pretty. I want to see her hanging out with Angie more because I think Angie brings out people's true personalities, and I'd like to get to know Keesha better.

Libra - I don't like her at all. Even at the times when the house has had the most fun, she's been awkward and I think the fun factor would have improved had she either been evicted, sleeping, or sitting in the outhouse taking a dump. She and Jessie are the type of people that will argue, but with whom they argue doesn't matter - they just want to shove their words down someone's throat and don't give two marshmallows what the other has to say.

Memphis - I don't really care one way or the other about Memphis. He was funny as Hans, but I think he's going to be one of the float to the end type of players before we really see what he's made of.

Michelle - I think she made a huge mistake not using the POV to take Steven down. She'll probably go up along with Libra next week if Angie, Jerry, or Dan gets HoH.

Renny - This one is odd. I feel badly for her, but at the same time I wonder what made her think she'd be able to win any competitions. She has no physical abilities at all, she gets confused, and is so gullible that I think if she makes it to the end it will be because no one thought she would be a threat and she'll win by default.

Ollie - He ought to be ashamed. I'm sure his parents are. I see no decent game play going on with him.

Steven - I like Steven but I think he thought he was going to get through the game because girls like gay guys. I think he kind of had a thing for Brian and screwed himself by favoring a feeling he had over doing what he knew would benefit him in the game.

Wouldn't it be fun if BB hinted to the hamsters that the studio audience (all of us) "might" have a say in who's going to be eliminated? Just to stir the pot..how much would the persona of some of these people change if they thought they were trying to get votes from the audience!! Season is pretty good so far, some of them I like and some of them I can't stand...pretty par for the course..

Posted by: SuZieQ at July 21, 2008 08:33 AM

Big Yawn feast so far however I truly think this will be one of the best seasons if a few things happen. These people truly are playing the game.

Season 9 was full of people that truly did not know how the game was played.

The only thing about this season that I would like to see change really quick is the whole "shun the noms" and some one please take a chance and split the herd up quickly. Also they need to tell us what's up with that picture and the key slot.

Did anyone get to listen to James on Jokers Update Friday night? He slipped up quite a few times about us seeing him soon doing something and then tried to cover it up by saying that he has his visa ready. Something is up...I can just feel it in the air.

I am so tried of the lamb being taken to the alter and then watching the slaughter. If that is the whole season then it will go down in flames and might end up having the whole show cancelled. You have to mix things up a bit and I do believe that is why this is so boring so far. Memphis my man...the backdooring is the whole beauty of the Power of Veto. (he said he wasn't a fan of it on the feeds)

Plus Showtime after dark is sooooooooo boring. Even the HGs are bored!!! When you know what each week is going to bring then there is nothing to scheme about.

Shake it up and vote a loud mouth off the show. Hint hint...Libra needs to go!!! She is so mean with whole do not talk to the HG that is being voted off. How would she like that if it was her?

Posted by: Renea at July 21, 2008 08:36 AM

Jessie IS a tool. He is clueless that his reign as HOH is not for the entire season. If he was as smart as he thinks he is, why would be be so intent on proving it to the other houseguests? Wouldn't that be something that you'd keep to yourself? I play tournament chess and always have a first game advantage because I am a girl and get underestimated. If I play in a non-tournament game against someone who doesn't know I compete, I play dumb. "How does this horsie move again?" When people think you are dumb they don't try as hard themselves. So - - by trying to prove that he is *smart,* Jessie has proven, to me, that he is dumb. Of course, believing that his physique makes him desirable to women is also dumb. Maybe someone should point this out to him.

I can't wait until Libra is on the block. At that point, I want her "Don't talk to anyone on the block" rule enforced vigorously. And I'd love it if she was put on the block with Jerry - - so that he was the only one she could talk to, for a week. Even better if she's on slop at the time. Better yet if she's the only one in the house on slop. A girl can dream, can't she?

Last year, Sunday nights show was lousy and this year is no different. Too much has happened for us live-feeders. I don't get why they pander to the CBS-only-watchers, and the periodic ones at that (updating for the whole week, instead of just the last episode) and not us live-feeders. How about a daily Q&A show ala Housecalls, but where the questions and answers have to do with things that happened in the house and that only live-feeders would know?

Posted by: Coleen with one "L" at July 21, 2008 09:19 AM

I'm loving this season thus far. I like Libra can't understand why most on this board seem to hate her but love Keesha who is the ultimate backstabber, flip flopper so far. I also like Dan, Ollie and Michelle. No longer like Keesha Jerry, or Jessie. I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other for the rest of the HG's, time will tell. But they all make good tv.
I think Jessie is full of himself he thinks his muscles are all that. He seems to have a problem with older people. I hope he realizes he will get older also. And a man with muscles but no substance is like a hotdog bun with no hotdog, you wouldn't want to eat it.
By the way he was on MTV's Next & Exposed (I believe that's the name of the other show where a friend sits in a van and tells you if the person is lying or telling the truth). He didn't get picked either time.

Posted by: Cerenay at July 21, 2008 09:46 AM

I agree that the show was boring.

I like the show so far but once Steven goes home I know I am going to like it less. So far, Steven's calling Jessie "a tool; a tool in all senses of the word" is my favorite soundbyte from the show.

Poor Steven, did you all notice last night during the group talk that he pretty much just shut down; didn't even have the energy to fight to be heard over the din of the big mouths in the group so he just gave up and walked out.

And speaking of those bigmouths -- who needs to shun the nominees when Jessie, Michelle, April and Jerry are all around -- they are doing all the talking and pretty much shutting everyone else down conversation wise. No one else can get a word in. The four of them need to tone it down to Renny's self-imposed "monochromatic" level.

I love how Jessie schools everyone to his world view. "What part of that don't you understand?" Did you all hear him say that last night LOL! What a smug little bitch. I'd call him a jerk, but bitch is really more appropriate.

Though I still like Angie and Memphis, Keesha and Dan are both growing on me. I think Keesha is going to be a big key to the outcome of this game. How horrible and gross for her to be in an alliance with people she doesn't even like.

And finally, I hate to say it but...I have a bit of a love/hate thing with Libra. I can't decide. Of course if I'd had all that voluminous experience and immense understanding of angry black women the way that The Greatest Dater of Black Women in America Ever Jessie has had, then maybe I'd be able to commit one way or the other.

As long as my baby keeps winning, then I am happy!

Posted by: Libbra's Father at July 21, 2008 10:24 AM

I'm enjoying the mix of people this season, though it was hard to find someone I liked. I like Angie, Steven and Renny. I disliked Renny at first, ala Adam, but she has really grown on me, just like Adam did. Can't stand Jesse, Michelle, April, Libra and Ollie. I get the feeling these five think they are just going to coast through the game together. Although it's supposed to be a game without twists, I beat there will be something. I love the twists, it messes up at least one alliances game.

I'm not shocked that Ollie and April had sex, what really shocks me is that they apparently didn't use a condom. Who does that anymore? Not to mention the possibility of getting pregnant on BB, now there's a twist.

Showtime has been so boring. The last two seasons I couldn't wait to turn it on, now I turn it on and off within 30 minutes. Absolutely no substance.

Posted by: pam957 at July 21, 2008 10:58 AM

well this year is certainly better than the last one. they actually have a brain in their heads. the only thing that i can see is the lack of respect that they give jerry. im not talking game play im talking that jessie for example tuned his back on jarry and said something about the military and his loyalty. thought you little punk. he has served our country and seen more than you will ever seel. i would be sitting talking his ear off about his life. my granfather lived the same militry life that jerry did and is now not with us anymore and if i had only known i would have asked more questions. play the game but have the respect that jerry has earned.

Posted by: Piehead at July 21, 2008 11:14 AM

well....this season is the most boring ever..i have so much trouble with the real player i am about to cancel...when i do get on it is so slow and i am sick of libra and her high and mighty attitude...she is more annoying than shehag was last season...the perfect house would have been brian, steve, dan, angie, jerry and keesha...the rest of the bb guest need to hit the road...oh well, i have plenty of other things to watch now...so i think i'm gonna cancel

Posted by: debi at July 21, 2008 11:30 AM

What is so great about this cast? I am tryin so hard to find my favs but all they do is make me miss the past big brothers. I am as bored as Angie but maybe I will love it as much as Jesse loves himself...Please let there be a twist to pump up the volume...this year is a sleeper for me so far.

Posted by: lynn at July 21, 2008 11:49 AM

you would think that if she really is your daughter you could at least spell her name right!

Posted by: Gregor at July 21, 2008 11:55 AM

Yes I was bored. The show was completly full of Jessie. We are only a week in and I am already tired of seeing him. The cast seems to be playing the game pretty well so far but I am just not as excited at this point. Hopefully everyone will realize that the whole not talking to the nominated HG's is really stupid and the show will get a little more lively!

Posted by: acherry at July 21, 2008 12:06 PM

I am enjoying this season, esp. the HGs creativity, but there is no one that I am really fired up about like I was about James last season and a few others the season before.

I like Dan, and I am starting to like Memphis after he opened up a bit last night. I want to like Angie but she seems down all the time. Renny is starting to grow on me, and I do have a soft spot for Jerry and I hope he makes it to sequester.

I don't care for Squish Head as I call him (the reigning HOH) and the rest I am pretty indifferent about.

The season started off with more of a bang than usual; they seemed to get down to gameplaying sooner, but I hope it doesn't get boooooring down the line.

I might be ready for a shake-up soon!

Posted by: Barbara at July 21, 2008 12:55 PM

I agree with BenF in that Steven's calling Jessie "a tool; a tool in all senses of the word" is my favorite soundbyte from the show, too. But a close second was Jesse's parting shot about the camera not being able to capture all 18 inches of his mighty bicep! I don't have the feeds, but if Jesse is half as annoying as they are portraying him on the show, I feel sorry for the rest of the houseguests.

It's funny how quickly things change. From the pre-show interviews, but mostly from the first show, I ranked April high on my list. Unfortunately she is sinking fast. I was totally against Dan, but either he is getting a really good edit, or he is a very decent guy, and he's now skyrocketing in my books.

All in all, it's an entertaining season thus far for me.

Posted by: CanFan at July 21, 2008 01:25 PM

It will be fun to watch Jessie fall. I'm pulling for Angie to win next HOH.

Posted by: AmosMoses at July 21, 2008 01:31 PM

Well, BB10 has'nt thrilled me so far folks. I have the feeds and have been watching. So Far ..

Jerry, seems like a nice guy. He fits in with the group, tries hard and seems to get along with everyone.

Jessie, well he is young, Does seem like a nice kid at heart, but DOES get concieted and does act like a 15 yr old at times..

Ollie, I think he is ok, kinda feeling his way around and around April..lol, but I get the feeling he could flip flop easy. Being he kinda did with Brain and Dan..

Steven, This one is just kinda there.. Nice guy seems to be, but not a threat he is already out...

Dan, he definately is a player of the game, will go far if he can stay off the block.

Memphis, quiet, sits back, could be dangerous like Dan.

Keesha, I like her . She seems mild and not the best player but gets how sometimes you have to put up with alot of crap..

Libra, Well this one has got to go now ! She is trouble straight down the line. she has a big mouth and temper to go with it. already insulted Jerry and Renny and lied about it.. Dumb move.

April, can't decide if she should go before or after Libra but this one is Trouble as well.

Renny, can be LOUD, boisterous, and not to good at the game.. so far..

Michelle, she is a female Dan, not that she is a great player, but she IS Devious and pushy she needs to go, too pushy and annoying as well.

Angie, she threw in with Brian and Dan so has be targeted, but she is mostly harmless so far..

so far I dislike most of the women..lol time will tell but Libra, right from the get go, gotta go !!

Posted by: Kells at July 21, 2008 01:31 PM

Please explain the meaning of 'tool' as in describing Jessie. Libra- everyone needs to quite squalking to her now and not wait until she is up for nomination. Renny is starting to grow on me.

Posted by: Deedlestexan at July 21, 2008 01:45 PM

I like this crew better than the past 2 seasons. Age and experience makes for better conversations and better TV.

As for the hampsters, I like Angie (Angela), Keesha, Memphis, and Dan.

I do not like Jessie (Did you called him "the body" because the brain is not there?) and Michelle (a younger version of Sheila..it's all about me).

The others are interesting at times, but I haven't really made a decision on them yet.

I hope BB continues with this type of casting in the future.

Posted by: Jeff G at July 21, 2008 02:06 PM

First I'd like to say thank so much for your site. It is the first place I go to for all things Big Brother. As always your doing a Great job keeping us informed and entertained.
Did you notice there isn't a vote your favorite HG on the CBS site? At least I couldn't find it. That has been my favorite thing to do over the past seasons. To see how the popularity shifts week to week.I am wondering if that has something to do with the 14th Picture and Key slot. Maybe some are right and America will have a vote in the house.
Anyway I agree that Sun.is too long from Wed. show and too much happens in between for live feeders. Maybe they should change up when they actually do the Comps. Don't TPTB realize we are the die hard fans? Sunday and Tuesday shows are old news already.
I keep on switching my favorites. I did like Brian the most. He was a bit arrogant, played too hard, too soon, but I wish he was still in the house. So it is no surprise that I side with Dan, Steven, Angie, and Keesha. I find myself surprised in my admiration of Dan. After his interview I thought he would be my least favorite.I LMAO in his bit with waiting in HOH room for Jessie and his remarks about Jessie's pictures.I am hoping he gets HOH this week. Renny is growing on me. Thank God she finally got her Meds.(She may be a bit over medicated now)I heard her explain to one of the girls that she didn't have her Meds the first few days.I had my suspicions. I can go either way with Jerry. I am still leaning towards liking him. At first I liked Libra, but now, not so much! I didn't like Memphis' remarks in the beginning about getting cars and expensive gifts from women.I keep that in the back of my mind and remember he is a con man. I don't like April, Ollie, Michelle or Jesse.
I like this cast so much better than Season 9. As far as the best, Season 6! LOVE YOU KAYSAR! You too Howie and Janelle! Season 8 had me fit to be tied ! but loved it. This season is promising. I thought it would be the best so far. I hope I wasn't too quick in my decision.

Posted by: Kim at July 21, 2008 02:14 PM

This cast just hasn't grown on me yet. I know when "that moment" is each season, because I begin searching youtube for clips!

I like watching Jessie fixate over himself. It is so rediculous, I HAVE to believe it is a joke. I loved when he said "can't even fit those 18 inch guns in the camera", lol, or something to that effect. I about rolled on the floor with the absurdity. I remember my cousins and I joking like that in the mirror....at age 15. Where you flex, kiss your bicep, punch your stomach, lol.

Steven and Memphis, I think, would make a kick ass alliance. They are both pretty laid back, and watching perceptively. It's too bad meat-head hasn't fumbled over himself yet and let the roid-rage get the better of him just yet.

Libra should go. She has a "know-it-all personality that irks me to no end. I can even deal with April whoring herself out for a vote (she sells cars, because all retail car accountants do it on saturday for extra money), or the two who switched teams a little early.

We've seen the team switchers before, and some can make it work.

Contrary to some, I love my Showtime. If I never see any more of BB10 the performance of the Late Nite Show was worth the price/time watching..Had it recording on DVR as I watched and have gone back and rewatched several times when I needed a laugh!! On a big screen tv it was like being there...They do need to space out the shows better..Would love to see Renny win HOH...what would SHIRTLESS do then...would love to see him kiss some butt!!

Joy - you've articulated a lot about the guests that I sensed but wasn't able to put into words. I especially liked your insights into Angie and Keesha. Angie has to step it up and save herself. Either she needs to win HOH or she needs to start disrupting some of these other alliances. Keesha is ready to jump, I think, if she could be convinced another 4-person alliance could stand up to April and Libra.

Suzie Q -- I was hoping for much more than pretense. Why NOT have an active studio audience who got to vote on things that were disruptive to the house or alliances? For example - - Studio audience chooses HOH. Then they have a lame telephone booth competition to choose HOH. The studio pick goes against the telephone booth winner, where the winner is HOH but the loser is immune from eviction for the week. Even if the studio pick doesn't win - it will inform the house as to the "popular" choice and it will allow the popular favorite to continue on. Or, even simpler - - let the studio audience choose one houseguest to give "immunity" from eviction for the week. The houseguests will only find out if the chosen houseguest is nominated for eviction.

CanFan - I, like you, had April ranked high and Dan low when they first came out of the gate. I was hoping that April's OCD would create some noise in the house and so far, this hasn't happened. I also like Dan and think he is playing a smart game, even if he is on the outside looking in, but I'm anxious that his misogyny will ultimately surface and that was the major reason I didn't like him from the get go.

As for Libra - - while evicting her would allow a vindication of sorts, it would also make the house a little less interesting. I can't stand the "shun the noms" rules but it would be great if the tables were turned and she was the one shunned. Oh, the drama. While it's fun that Libra rhymes with Zebra, the term is sickening in its xenophobia so I'd like to see it used less often or never in this forum.

V - - I don't mind showmances IF they are strategic. A showmance fueled entirely by libido, however, is just stupid. It puts an obvious target on the back of both and while they are bopping around, they aren't strategizing. Now -- much as I disliked how Erica was used by the Chill Town duo -- at least that was game play.

I think that Jerry and Renny should form a "secret" alliance. They are both targets, anyway, as the oldest in the crew and if they vote as a block they can be even stronger.

Anyone else picking up on how this season the house is dividing between the guys and girls, so early? There are exceptions, but not surprising ones. Angie hangs out with the guys, but she's a self-professed tomboy. Ollie hangs out with the girls, but he's a self-professed male whore. Keesha hates the cattiness of women - - and finds herself right, smack in the middle of them, and struggling to excise herself without any collateral damage. The Memphis - Jessie - Angie - Michelle alliance is transitory in my opinion. If none of them win HOH next week, they will scatter and find new strong holds.

Just a few of my ramblings as I procrastinate my day away!

I am amazed with myself at how bored with the feeds I am lately. Other than a few days and special moments ( talk show and puppet show), there has just not been much going on worth wild.
The elementary attitude of the HG's with not talking to other HG's is absurd. The general attitude of Jesse is beyond belief. April and Ollie are nauseating. Libra and her self proclaimed throne, make me want to put a shoe through the monitor. Michelle is two timing to beat the band and not at all fun to watch. She is as bad as Natalie following around Mattie the way she is up Jesses ass. He even told her he would like to hit it off with Angie and she is still too dumb to back off. Jerry is riding the line of being a pervert. Memphis, I wish would grow some and hook up with Dan and Angie. And Renny, well, Renny is just there. I like Steven, Angie and Dan but not a whole lot of fun right now as the Herd has them by the balls. I am hoping for sure that either of those two get HOH and let some 'beggin and pleadin' begin or it will be another week of boredom.
I liked the food comp. Can't see for a moment that Libra had ANY right to complain about Jerry and Renny. Jerry was sitting down plugging holes and Renny was doing fine. Libra was once again a lying witch about the Old Folks! Libra didn't look to have done that much for her team infact!
Anyways... I like BB10 way better than 8 or 9. Just need to get rid of some dead weight and bring this house alive again. Meaning, Libra, Jesse for sure. They bring everything down...
I like BB6 but for sure didn't like the outcome. Loved the Sovereign 6... They were way more fun to watch than this crew. But after 8 and 9, I'm as happy as can be expected.
This Jesse creature makes me think of a quote I truely love. Anyone know where it comes from? A 'BJ' goes to the first 5 that know it. (Nah, that's last season!) My admiration goes out to you as you will have found more insight from the movie than most. No google! "Is not the satisfaction of being a good man among common men enough to sustain us anymore?"

Coleen, just wishful thinking on my part...has AG ever acknowleged/implemented any geme play suggestions from the fans??

Posted by: SuZieQ at July 21, 2008 05:21 PM

If I was in charge of the show, I would make those in charge of decision-making read the posts in this blog every day. But I'm not. And AG hasn't let me in on how she makes the bad decisions she makes.

I'd say someone was reading the posts last year because they made some serious changes/attempts at improving the HG and the game. If we'd ended up with another group like BB9 I'd be done with BB for good.

Coleen with one "L", those were some really good ideas. Hopefully your check is in the mail!! :-)

I agree with Coleen about the comments about Libra/zebra. It makes me not want to participate in the discussions. I hope people can come up with a less insulting nickname.

I'm liking this season so far. It seems BB did a good job picking people who will play the game & not just emotionally. Like the HOH this week, if he was playing emotionally like a lot do, he would have put up Renny & Jerry, but he didn't.

I'm not sure it will be better then BB6, I really liked that season a lot :)

Stephie -

I thought that maybe Libra was named as such because of her birthdate - - but no, she's a Leo (8/6/76). So Libra the Lion(ess) would seem to be a much more appropriate nickname, especially given her shunning policy (male Lions get shunned from the pack) and her roar.

Deedlestexan (in case you were serious) -- Here are some definitions of the expression "tool": A person who is unable (or unwilling) to form an independent opinion on a given topic; a person who is impressionable, easily used by others; loser; wanna-be; a person used as an instrument by another person; a person used to carry out the designs of another; a dupe; a person who is used to perform unpleasant or dishonest tasks for someone else; and, finally, a vulgar term for penis.

And maybe we could just refer to Libra as Diva?

Posted by: CanFan at July 22, 2008 06:00 AM

Libra the Lioness and Diva are both fantastic names, that describe her perfectly!

Posted by: Stephie at July 22, 2008 07:50 AM

CanFan thanks for providing those definitions. And those are some of the things Steven meant. But Deedlestexan - besides what is in the dictionary, calling someone a tool is pretty much like saying another common slang -- that of calling someone "a piece of work."
