Up A Creek

You know what sucked about this show? The fact that it would have been even better if we had been able to watch the live feeds of the first part of the HOH competition. I know some of you may be getting tired of myself and others continuing to carry on about it but I can't help it. That's all I could think about during the "live" show tonight.

The show began with Julie welcoming us just as she normally would for any other live show -- except that it wasn't live. We picked up after Ryan's nomination of Sheila and Sharon. Sharon just laughed about being nominated in the diary room while Sheila went off to sulk and cry in her bed. Sharon joined her and told her that if she were to win POV that she would pull her off the block. She didn't do a good job of lying but Sheila played along by saying that it was them girls against the guys at this point.

Of course, we then saw Sharon telling Ryan that they have to get Adam out followed by Adam and Sheila telling each other that they have the other one's back. This was all after Ryan telling Adam that he wants Sheila out next and Adam promised he'd send her packing. Sharon never did let up on Ryan though and we were shown several times this evening during the show that she was seriously pushing hard for Ryan to send Adam packing if Ryan won the POV this week. This is part of what I enjoy about the shows at the end of each season. There is so much more time for production to show us more of the game talk going on in the house.

The Power of Veto competition was an interesting one and it was actually hard for me to stop laughing throughout the thing. A section of the backyard was quartered up so that Ryan, Adam, Sheila, and Sharon couldn't see what the others were doing. Each of them had five horses with headless jockeys riding them on a wall and they had to put the face of the Big Brother jury member on the jockey's body as well as hanging up two clues that pertained to that juror. They could only work on one racehorse at a time and must work in the order that the jury members were evicted. I found it hilarious that they had to keep jumping over this wall made up of bales of hay between the clues and the wall with the jockeys and racehorses on them. Of course, the funniest was what the jockeys looked like with Matt, Chelsia, Josh, James, and Natalie's faces on them. Hilarious!

I'm not sure if it was the editing or if it was real but it seemed like Adam wasn't doing that bad of a job in the competition. Regardless, Ryan wound up winning and told us all in the diary room that he now controls everybody's fate in the house at this point and that they have to kiss his butt. He's playing his self-proclaimed power whore role quite nicely if I do say so myself.

Since Ryan won the POV it was time for more strategy talk in the house. Ryan told Adam that he trusted him and Adam promised to get rid of Sheila if that's what he wanted him to do. Adam told Sharon that he knew she'd keep Ryan around if she won the final HOH and boldly offered to keep her this week if she'd promise to take him to the final two. Sharon refused the handshake on that. Sharon ran and told Ryan what had happened and then Ryan confronted Adam about it a little bit later. Sheila told Adam that she has his back in the game and needs the money.

When Julie checked in with the houseguests in the living room before the Power of Veto ceremony, she asked Ryan if he was worried about holding all of this power for so long. Ryan, in his humble nature, said absolutely not and that it was good for him. Julie told Sharon that she was the first houseguest in Big Brother history to be nominated five times in a row and Sharon said she'd been able to evade eviction so many times thanks to the faither of her fellow houseguests and the grace of God. Julie asked Sheila and Adam about their being shackled together and they gave her their typical 'I hate him, I like messing with her' responses.

The POV meeting and subsequent eviction was fairly straightforward. Ryan told them that the best thing about winning the POV as the HOH is that nobody can change your nominations. He wasn't going to be changing them so it was then Adam's time to evict either Sharon or Sheila. After a boring and predictable speech from Sharon and a sweet speech from Sheila, Adam told Sharon that she was evicted. Sharon didn't really seem too shocked to me. Sheila was the one that was shocked. Sheila began to cry immediately and didn't stop until before the HOH competition. Seriously, Sheila was bawling. She couldn't believe that Adam had kept her over Sharon. I think she'd really come to terms with being evicted and was shocked when it didn't happen.

Sharon's talk with Julie was rather ho-hum up until Julie asked her about Jacob. Sharon actually said that if her and Jacob could make it work she'd like to try. I was kinda shocked but Julie was especially shocked. I wonder what Jacob thought when he watched that tonight. I would love to have been a fly on the wall at that moment. Everybody's goodbye videos were very nice but of course they would be. They were playing to a jury member now.

And finally, we saw the beginning of the HOH competition called "Up A Creek." I'm still bitter about not being able to watch any of this on the feeds but basically, they were on boogie boards with running water underneath on a tilted platform. And then, it began to rain. Now that's a shocker. This was an HOH competition that clearly favored hamsters with upper body strength -- no question about that.

Tomorrow evening, at 8:00 PM ET live (fur-real this time), the final HOH will be crowned and will cast the sole vote in the final eviction of the season thereby choosing who to sit with them in the final two.

So what did you think about the show tonight? My favorite parts of the show was when Sheila and Adam were shackled together. It was cool to hear the diary room voice on the show. That certainly doesn't happen very often!

Ever been with a man and you are hot, sweaty, breathing is labored and you are oh so close to your OWN, and BAM! He's done! And you're left with, what the f**k? That's the feeling I had tonight watching the show. Let the f**k down!
Actually, I am just more and more saying to myself, 'come on BB10'! Where is the fight to the finish in BB9? It's not here. Ryan throwing this comp to Adam and Adam throwing this comp to Ryan? I'm not liking it all!!
I'm a diehard BB fan, but this is the worst. Between the lousy cast, AG, BB, and CBS, I just need a fresh start!
Anyone watch Boston Legal? I love the show, the political sarcasim, the wit of the characters is just so good. James Spader has to be the most talented television actor I've seen in years. Every line he delivers is poignant. I know this has nothing to do with BB, but I'm pissed and feel robbed. Just thought I'd speak of something good on TV tonight, as BB wasn't!!

Am I the only one noticed Adam practicing how to sit for the hoh comp one hour before the comp to loosen up.He was showing Ryan how to do it.I hate the way BB picks who they want to win and then they help the houseguest anyway. No one else was sitting that way,Ryan didn't even know how.Well Sharon got booted out because BB told them about the guinea pigs being sisters.Well hello that was Ryans arguement about getting Sheila out because of the couples and trust.BB should have not said that until they left the house. What a crock. Sharon never had a chance with Adumb,Ryan and BB working against her.

Ditto Diff!

HD - it is late - would that last sentence be better with "happen?" But it did make me happy!

From HD - Why yes it would be! Hahahaha! Nuthing gits paste u geyes.

Is it just me or do you think Adam is going to screw over Ryan, because of what he said in his goodbye about Sheila to Sharon. That he would always have her back and protect her because she was his partner just like Josh was hers. Just a thought.

I thought the show was crappy and I am very disappointed in CBS.

Adam, man you better win.

Gawd Shelia shut up we do not care how bad you supposedly broke James down. Now we have to listen to this for another day? I would rather listen to Sharon, at least she was quiet MOST of the time !

Loved, loved, loved the POV contest. Ryam hurdeling those bales of hay was hilarious. I can't believe they let them work on each one, one at a time though. Come on people... if they had to put all that together before the hit the buzzer, we would still be sitting here waiting on a winner. :)

I think BB knew they didn't have the sharpest tools in the shed, and not one of them played and/or studied things like Dani did last year. If they had been in last year's final 4 POV, Dick Jameka, or Zach would have smoked them.

I am wondering if there will be a special prize if Adam and Sheila are the final two - a prize for staying together throughout the show. One season didn't they have it where twins were compeating and if they went unnoticed, they won something big?

Posted by: kingkw at April 22, 2008 09:22 PM

Forgot to comment on the HOH comp. Its pure Bull-butter that they couldn't show that on the feeds. Thousands of feed freaks, myself included, were ripped off by CBS/BB. Okay, I've said my mind. I can go to bed happy now. :)

Corr: Zach, not Vincent...and I may not even be on the correct thread - my bad...

Barbara - "Am I the only one noticed Adam practicing how to sit for the hoh comp one hour before the comp to loosen up."

I noticed that too...coincidence??? hmmm I think not!

Posted by: bb9_observer at April 22, 2008 09:45 PM

Hey, HD...did you notice that while Ryan was "reading" the rules for the POV that in the background the jockey and horse had the info on it? More editing, Perhaps?

I do agree, I thought Shelia's speech was good. For the first time I felt for her. She is not my favourite person in the house, I am still a Ryan girl, and if he can take Shelia with him to the end, he can win. Adam made friends(yet enemies) with everyone.

I'll just be glad when this farce is finally over and, yes, I know I've been fool enough to follow it all along..If BB10 starts out with another dumb kind of "twist" I hope I have sense enough to not tie up part of my free time following along.. Now that's off my chest, I hope Adam and Ryan are separated and don't know how the other is doing for the HOH comp and that Adam wins regardless...Then maybe he will have found his balls after all that searching and dump Breadtruck, buttcrack and all, out!!

Oh my gosh!!!!!!! I am watching the Showtime After Dark show right now and Sheila really needs to shut up. She keeps saying she doesn't want to beg but she is so totally begging. I'm so sick of hearing her go on and on endlessly. Anytime she's ever been on the block, she's been so freaking whiney. Yet when she's not on the block she's telling the people oh it's just a game, get over it. I almost thought it would be cool if Adam and Sheila made it to the final 2, but now I want it to be Adam and Ryan and I want Adam to win it all. I think he will, hands down.
I think I'm going to have to turn off Showtime tonight, I can't handle hearing her anymore. LOL

Sorry cant talk, breathless...my second season..same response...F_ _ c _!!!! they cut us off again* Better be careful they will just say O.K. you all tired of this..then pay more* you will see it all, aw, probably not. theres not enough online folks to come close to what the sponsors $$$$ put on the horse...

I still don't understand why feeders were not able to see that 1st part of the comp play out. We obviously were going to know who was evicted and who won just from yesterday's feeds.

I do think Sharon was wronged in this. First the question about the guinea's, then telling them the answer before the eviction, then having the walk through on the comp before the eviction.

They all knew Sheila has no upper body strength and was afraid of water.

For me, the only thing to look forward to is seeing who gets to evict the third person and who actually becomes the final 2. If Adam is one, I'm pretty sure he wins the game no matter who he's up against.

Nothing much surprises me anymore about BB this year. First, the pov ceremony is delayed until after the hg's practiced for the HOH Part 1 endurance comp; again screwing over Sharon cause she apparently did pretty good. Then, Ryan and Adam make a deal that Adam will throw the comp to him. Now today, after Adam won Part 2, he told Ryan he would throw Part 3 so Ryan will win the final HOH. This is a bad, sad, and totally unsatisfactory end to BB9. Thanks AG, you're a peach.

Recca said about Shelia: Anytime she's ever been on the block, she's been so freaking whiney. Yet when she's not on the block she's telling the people oh it's just a game, get over it.

Yep. That is just one of many things that I hate about Shelia. On CBS last night, she was whining to Sharon, of all people, about being on the block. Sharon, who was also on the block--for what, the fifth time in a row?, and was there this time because BB had just cheated her out of HOH--was chipper and trying to console this evil, self-centered bitch. Why? Don't console her, Sharon--laugh at her.

I dont know why but I still want She and Adam to win-- I dont mind how much or in what order-- For some reason I just dont want Ry to win at all. Whats wrong with me?!? But I am so sick of his pompus attitude about winning-- I think it is awesome that some previous HGs got to come back to help some of their old roomies!! Especially Alex for She-- I dont watch the feeds but just reading that from HD's post-- That is just perfect!! About ppl griping about hating BB9 this time around because all the HGs are a**holes--- Look CBS only did this because there was a writers strike-- and hey think about it-- any BB is better than NO BB!!! Plus can you imagine if we didnt have this summer show but had patiently waited until July for BB9 to start- to see all these same biatches- get it over with and lets see some more mature clear thinking adults-- I dont mean old geeysers-- just a wider variety of people!! I cant wait til the rumored next BB start date!! July 13th I will be in front of the tv with CBS on at 7pm central time!-- Love to HD!!

This show was totally boring. I fell asleep during the veto competition, even though I struggled to keep my eyes open. Woke up about 10 minutes later for about 2 minutes, before falling asleep again. (Normally, I don't go to sleep that early.) I finally woke up around 5 am, and watched the show from the veto comp on the internet. It was still boring. The endurance comp could have been good, if only we could have actually watched it. All I could think was that this show has really gone downhill. Other countries put out 6 shows a week, and do better than this, with a lot less to work with.

If you have answered this quiestion , excuse me, but I didn't see Sheila lasting too long in "up a creek" . Do you know how long each person lasted in the comp. Also interested in how long Adam stayed in after Sheila, since he was throwing it to Ryan? Thanks, you're the best!

Posted by: kathi at April 23, 2008 07:09 AM

I was wondering if they got all of that water for the comp from Sheila's tears. I have never seen someone cry so much about being on the block.

Posted by: Valarie at April 23, 2008 08:17 AM

Whamber/Sheila was out in full force the last few episodes, give me a break. She is so full of herself and how well she played the game. Again you didn't win anything!!! Please let her be gone tonight. I think Adam wins it all!

Posted by: Jo at April 23, 2008 09:45 AM

I think if Adam and Ryan are the last two standing it will be boring .And I dont care who would win then. I would love to see the last couple up there instead or a curve ball and see Ryan and Sheila . I will be pretty upset if it was the boys winning boring .

Posted by: Cricket at April 23, 2008 11:42 AM

i think Julie really put Sharon on the spot when she asked her how she stayed in the game that long
