Guess What Today Is

I'm so excited I can barely stand it! Tonight (9:00 PM ET/CT), finally, we'll meet the ninth set of hamsters in the flesh. No more looking at pictures and watching the promos trying to glean yet another tidbit about them we might have missed the first time around. Oh no sir-ee!

We'll watch them assemble in front of the house, enter the house, and pick beds tonight. We'll watch them gather 'round the plasma as Julie introduces herself and informs them (perhaps) of the twist. And we'll watch the first HOH competition!!! Who will be the first HOH of Big Brother 9? I can't wait! And then when the show is over, I'll sit here anxiously waiting for the feeds to come on. For those who are wondering, the feeds won't be starting until after the show has finished airing on the west coast. If you're on the east coast, you're looking at a start time of 1:00 AM and those of us in the Central time zone are looking at midnight. Surely, you've signed up already right?

I have spent the last few days getting everything ready for tonight's event. I have my place super duper cleaned up, stocked up on groceries, have informed friends and family to not bother me while the show is on, and cleaned my computer out. I have to have room for all of my screen caps after all!

I have also set up a Big Brother group over at Fafarazzi so that all of us can compete against each other in a cool fantasy game they have going on. It's easy to set up and it's free so I hope to see many of your familiar screen names in the Silly Hamsters group. All you have to do is pick three hamsters that you think might do certain things and that make it on the next show and you get points. You can change your three hamsters for each show by the way. If you're interested, click here and join me.

So are you excited for the show tonight? What special preparations have you made or are making for tonight? Are you going to be up all night like I will be watching the feeds? Let me know in the comments below!

ETA - And what do you think about there already being an eviction on tomorrow night's show? Which two could it be?

I will be going to a local bar/restaurant tonight for the premiere with the mother of Adam throwing the party! It should be great hearing from her the process he went through. I believe he was approached by Big Brother Producers. He did not apply. I believe they had seen him previously and held onto his name and then approached him about this season. Hopefully I will know more tomorrow!

Hey, HD! Did you see Julie Chen on "The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson" last night? She said that Big Brother had paired up the Hamsters going into the house and the pairs would be competing together (sounds like Biggest Loser Couples) and the pairs would also share beds.

I'll be watching along with you. Too bad the feeds are starting so late. As I am in Atlantic Canada that means 2 am my time. Maybe I can catch a little of it before I crash. LOL. I can always catch up on your site. See ya!

Has anyone actually confirmed that this is a full season? A few things make me think it might not be...

a) The "twist" that pairs will be playing together and getting evicted together will make us run out of hamsters faster than a normal season, wouldn't it?
b) did anyone notice that RealPlayer is selling a "3 month" package, not a season pass?

From HD - For the final time, this will be a full season of Big Brother. It's all over the place...LOL. Even check out Julie Chen's latest interview on RealityBBQ. As far as the RealPlayer thing goes, a season pass has always lasted for three months anyway. They may have changed the wording so that people don't get confused and think they're going to get both Big Brother 9 and 10 for all of one price. Just a guess.

I am so excited. My bedroom is spotless, my favorite pj's are laid out on bed ready, favorite munchies ready, chocolates within easy reach, etc. But I did something I bet nobody else did. Have you seen those commercials for the sound amplifier? Older gentleman in bed and wife next to him (trying to sleep) I think? Anyway, my hubby has to get up REALLY early in the morning and is always complaining about the sound when I watch BBAD, so I bought one of those sound amplifiers! The earplugs that come with it aren't long enuf so I got my earphones that I use for computer with really long cord. Now I can sit up in bed with volume down low and earplugs in my ear so I can listen as loud as I want! TV in bedroom is oldest tv in house so no headphone jack in the front of it.
Let's Get It Started!

thank god for you HD!

i am so confused on the day today. had NO idea it was the start of BB!! now i can only hope i will remember when i get home tonight :)

fyi, interview with the producer? on line at entertainment weekly!

From HD - Where's the interview jude is talking about? It's right here!

Neat-o! I've been waiting for a BB fantasy league and fafarazzi has it all set up! Outstanding! I think that crying, however, should be negative points. Otherwise, last season everyone would have had Amber on their team. Yuck.

Can't wait. My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts, yet he obsessed over football and his fantasy leagues. Except for the tight pants, what's the difference?

I'm thinking, with the "twist," and slap me if I'm stating the obvious, but it looks like the producers want to air some sex couplings and are hoping that pairing each other M/F (and one M/M) and making them share the same bed will force the issue. My prediction is that one out of each pair will be eliminated each week until, halfway through the season, you're back to singles.

I checked out the producer's interview and her claim about not influencing the outcome was disingenuous, given how they wouldn't let Eric use his POV. She said, "First off, the idea that we're helping people on the show, please! That does not happen. This is a program where the producers are as removed as you possibly can be, relatively speaking, compared to other shows. We want it to be fair for everybody."

She also brought up the Showtime after dark -- and I had completely forgot about that - - so I had to go program my DVR. Whew! Almost missed out!

Hi, HD...Good to have you around again to keep us straight lol. Thanks for clearing up any confusion at the beginning and being so fast on the draw, as usual. Looking forward to TWO seasons a year. Can you believe it? It's about time!

Hi HD, in advance of the season starting tonight just wanted to thank you in advance for your work on this site. It always adds a extra layer of enjoyment in watching BB. Cheers!

Hey HD! Love your site! Can't wait for the show to start 3 hours and counting. My fiance' wants to block cbs because he says I am too obessed! Well hope everyone enjoys the show tonight and I am looking forward to a fantabulous season of BB again!

Wow, what a sick, twist I am... have my kids clothes layed out for school in the am, have their lunches packed, and just about to get them in the shower and in their pj's for the night, (and it is only 6:30 pm!!) Yikes! Am I an addict or what???

In Northeast Ohio and getting dumped on with 8 inches of snow right now. What a better way to spend a cold snowy night, than to be getting right back into BB. Seems we just left Evil, his spitting, farting and burping behind us, as he laughed all the way to the bank, and here we are again.

Can't wait for the soap opera to continue...

PS. HD, my feeds are just saying "the live feed you are trying to access is not available now. Please try later." Is that right? I would have thought they would be at the front door by now, or the flushing water, or trivia? Perhaps I'm wrong. Any insight?

From HD - The feeds are working right now but you won't be seeing anything in the house yet. Feeds 1-3 should be the space station and Feed 4 should be the BB9 logo with classical music. Open up your RealPlayer, go to the SuperPass section, and login. Then try opening the feeds using the links on SH.

All ready to go and this season will definitely be interesting. Thanks for all your hard work and your still the best site for up to date infro.
Peace&Love Donna

I'm predicting James and Sheila for nomination - - only on the basis that they seem very different from the rest.

Tiffany reminded me that it's still winter. (Not to rub it in - but it was beautiful today in San Diego). Why not move the studio for Big Brother during this season so that they can play in snow (then warm up in jacuzzi)? Or - - since it's too late to move the studio this year, how about they keep dumping the manufactured snow on them for the season?

Hola HD, here we are again... I am totally looking forward to another season of BB and hopefully this season someone I actually like will win;) I have already told the family and friends that from 8-9pm I will not be answering the phone so please don't call. I have to say I love this site because I can come here and vent or cheer about BB and I can't do that with my friends because none of them are as hooked as I am so thanks HD.

The feeds are on the animal in the tank? What kind of animal is it? A rabbit?

From HD - They're HAMSTERS!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Coleen with one "l" at February 12, 2008 07:18 PM

Have they started casting for BB10 yet?
