New Theme In Da House
Hmmmm. RealityBBQ has some info on the Big Brother house for this ninth season.
The house is extremely colourful - so colourful that it might take us time to get used to.
As long as they don't have those stupid yellow plastic chairs at the kitchen table I'm fine with it. I don't know why, but for some reason I hated looking at those things.
The living room and kitchen are decorated like a winter cabin "on crack" - logs and stones, like the wallpaper on the third level during BB8 - to match the winter season. They even have that basementesque white birch mural paper up in the Diary Room! Ick. The living room also sports a circular couch for the big happy HG family.
Yeah, that birch mural on the upper level was fugly. I can't imagine it will be nice in the DR. I figured they would change that cool looking plush in the DR but to that? Eeeks!
The third level is no longer the log wallpaper and is bookshelf wallpaper. I sense themes... everywhere.
Sounds like it could be the same wallpaper that was used in the hallway to the DR.
The HoH room has a surfer theme - gnarly, dude! The other bedrooms have low walls which divide up a little bit of individual space for the HG - great idea! One room has a nautical them! Fun.
A surfer theme for the HOH room sounds cool but it doesn't seem to really fit for a winter edition -- especially considering how the rest of the house seems to be outfitted. I wonder if that's the theme they had planned for the summer edition but couldn't come up with something new so soon. Same thing goes for the nautical theme in one of the bedrooms.
The backyard now sports a firepit to keep the HG warm on the frosty winter nights. The pool is also heated now!
Woohoo for a firepit! And an even bigger woohoo for a heated pool. Watch the heater break though in the first week. LOL
What do you think about these tidbits about the house so far?

Is The House Ready To Go?
It seems like the Big Brother 9 house was open for business late last week.
If what is posted in that thread is correct, Mark from RealityWanted was one of eight people to spend twelve hours in the house. They participated in an HOH and POV competition as well as an eviction ceremony. Mark was even placed on slop!
Wouldn't it be cool to spend some time in the house before the season started? 12 hours, 3 days, or 1 week would be awesome! Surely, you'd want to spend a little time in there yourself right?
I wonder how different the house looks this season compared to BB8. Might there even be secrets concerning the house itself since the theme seems to be "dirty little secrets"? What kind of cool secrets would you like the house to hold for the next group of hamsters?

The Rumor Mill
Well, we all know how it goes with the rumor mill right before a new season of Big Brother starts (three weeks to go). One of the more interesting ones floating around out there is that a transexual might be involved. Considering the "dirty little secret" commercials that have been airing, it would fit.
Reality BBQ put up a link to a message board posting that reads:
"Alright, so I went to the open call in Atlanta and while I did not get a call back, I can share a tidbit that makes me think this secret thing may have some validity.
In my group of 5, there was a girl, a blonde model from Atlanta and she mentioned something like "I am dating 2 guys - one knows and the other doesn't know" after she said this one of the casting people stopped her and said "don't tell the rest of what the other guy doesn't know in front of everyone else". After we were all dismissed, she was asked too stay behind.
There was a gay guy in my group who I walked out with and I wondered aloud what was up with her and what was the big secret. The gay guy told me she was a tranny - a friend of his knew her and he told her to come to the open call.
She mentioned she had never seen the show, knew nothing about it all, and just because of her "secret" I am 99% positive she got a call back and would not be surprised to see her on the show. She was really pretty but I HATE HATE HATE that another know nothing about the game dumb bitch may be getting on because she has some sort of overexaggerated "secret". Even though I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to blow her spot up - I won't mention her name - I can PM it to Aero or SoA and when we know they are sequestered I will post it. Again, she may not be on - but they made a big deal of her not spilling her "secret" in front of the rest of us and y'all KNOW a beautiful blonde tranny from the South who grew up on a farm and knows nothing about BB is the kind of shit these dumb casting idiots drool over.
They did ask all of us if we had something interesting to tell them about ourselves "that no one knows about." So, having been through the casting and hearing other people's stories - I am inclined to believe there is something to this."
So what do you think about this rumor? How much of it do you believe? And what do you think about the "dirty little secret" theme?

We're Getting Closer!
Howdy folks! Long time no write! ![]()
The holidays are finished and I'm getting back into the regular swing of things. As you all know, Big Brother will be starting back up on Tuesday, February 12 at 9:00 PM (ET/PT) so I've begun the housecleaning here on Silly Hamsters a little earlier than you've become accustomed to.
The first thing you should notice is the new web address. (Don't freak out or anything!) The folks over at Real.com have kinda folded my site into their Film.com site so that's where the dot film part of the address is coming from. Nothing else will be changing here and you can still get to Silly Hamsters just fine by typing in the www and sillyhamsters but, as a favor to me, if you normally get here through a bookmark or my RSS feed I would really appreciate it if you could update those links. (If you have a site or blog and you have me linked up, I'd appreciate it if you could update the link there as well.)
CAUTION: Do NOT use www and then sillyhamsters dot film dot com in your bookmarks or favorites because it won't work! Try it and see if you don't believe me! LOL! Use the link that's in the address bar up there at the top of your screen or copy and paste this address: http://sillyhamsters.film.com
Another thing, I've been working on updating the links to the other sites in my sidebar over there and I'm trying to make sure I only include sites that keep themselves current. As we get closer to the start date, more of them will probably be updating themselves but if they don't then I'm gonna dump them. If you come across a link that is no longer working or really out of date, drop me an email (my email link is at the top right of this page) and let me know. Also, if you know of a great Big Brother site (U.S. versions only please) let me know and I'll check them out and probably add them over there. And don't be afraid to pass my site on to others as well!
Now that I have that out of the way, I'm getting so excited about Big Brother coming back to us so early! I can't wait to see all your familiar screen names come flooding back here and I especially can't wait for all of the new hamster-followers that will be joining us! All of you guys are what makes Silly Hamsters one of the best Big Brother sites on the net and I miss all of y'all in the off-season.
To those of you who have been following me (and even contributing!) over at Silly Reality, thank you very much! You hold a very special place in my heart! And don't worry, just because Big Brother is starting back up doesn't mean I'll be abandoning Silly Reality. I mean, we have to have somewhere to talk about shows other than Big Brother right?
I remember early last month when I posted about Big Brother's early return and I was excited, but nothing like what I'm getting to be now. Instead of seven months to go, we only have to wait five more weeks! As excited as I am, it will definitely be weird having BB back so early. It's grown to be one of those "summer things" for all of us and now we'll soon find ourselves season-shocked! But hey, we probably won't be watching endless hours of boobies falling out of bathing suit tops! Sorry guys. ![]()
So how much are you looking forward to a Big Brother in February? How are you doing on working your schedule out to accommodate the ninth round of hamsters?
And, once again, let me humbly welcome you back to another season of Big Brother with me here at Silly Hamsters. I just don't know what I'd do here without all of you great people! ![]()
