Friday Thoughts

I really wish all of you could have been crammed into my home last night as we watched the show together. I wish even more that all of you could have watched me as I approved your comments last night!

I actually do read every single comment before I approve them and even though I was upset at the outcome last night, I couldn't help but laugh my ass off. It was so much fun and I love all of you.

I love how passionate you are about Big Brother. I'm passionate about Big Brother myself so I really love interacting with all of you even though we don't always agree on things or on who we're cheering for. Silly Hamsters would be a very boring blog if all of us liked the same hamster don't ya think?

But back to my reactions (yes it's all about me ya know) reading your comments last night. Even though I couldn't stand that Dick and Daniele were the final two, I enjoyed so much reading everything that all of you wrote. I had so many moments last night when I told myself, 'Did they really just type that?' or 'I totally agree!' or 'That is hilarious!'.

Many of you are happy and for that I'm happy. I believe favoritism was indeed shown towards D/D this season and I hope that the same thing doesn't happen next season. I would like a more pure game. I don't want to see any twists. I want to see strangers. I want BB to let things play out instead of playing to viewer's favorites. I definitely believe this season had more of a producer's hand on the outcome than any before it. I didn't like that. Regardless of what some of you may think, I really am a Big Brother purist. I really do prefer less interference with the game. However, I also want to see BB give real consequences to hamsters not doing what they're supposed to. Wake up when they tell you to. Change your batteries when they tell you. Talk about your diary rooms? Hand out some punishment. I definitely don't want to see slop again. Bring back the PB&J please! And let those of us who actually subscribe to the feeds watch food competitions again.

How will I be voting? We still have time to vote BTW. I thought about this last night and this morning. I've decided I'm not going to vote. It won't matter when it comes down to it but I don't want to contribute my votes to either Dick or Daniele to win $500,000. The Dick and Daniele fans will figure that out amongst themselves. Don't forget though that Dick won a plasma TV and Daniele won a new boyfriend. Don't know how long the TV or boyfriend will last but I'll be glad to take bets. LOL

Will I have the feeds on watching Dick and Daniele continuously bash, gloat, and whine until Tuesday? Absolutely not. Honestly, I'd rather watch Boogie and Erica make out for 96 hours straight. I'd rather watch training sessions on how to use kitchen appliances. I'd rather watch commercials for depilatory creams. I'd rather somebody pull my fingernails out one by one and feed them to me with fava beans and chianti on the side. I'd rather, well let's just say there's a lot of things I'd rather do than watch Dick and Daniele any longer.

To those of you who can't stand Dick and/or Daniele, let us remember that the jury members (and even those not in the jury) had their chance to get rid of Dick and/or Daniele several times this season. Each time they either flaked and got sidetracked with idiocy or they let Dick get inside their heads. And that is good gameplay by Dick whether we want to admit it or not. Plain and simple.

But again, congrats to all of the Dick and Daniele fans out there. I remember what it was like for my favorite to win Big Brother so I understand and know what you're feeling. I just truly hope that next season doesn't include houseguests whose behavior escalates beyond the actions shown by Dick this season. I really don't want to watch a 'free for all' in Big Brother 9. But then again, perhaps one of the males or even females would have the bollocks to actually stand up to that person next season unlike the wussy little hamsters (except Jen) of BB8.

I wonder how many of us will be on the same side of the fence next season? Ya just never know. You might not have been able to stand some of my posts this season or rolled your eyes constantly at me but next year we may be in total agreement. And to those who agreed with me this season you just may find yourself having the vapors next season. That's one of the very interesting things about this show and I love it.

We fans make this show. There's no other show on television like this and there probably never will be. I just hope that more of you watch the feeds next season. Anybody who watches the feeds will tell you that it's a completely different experience than solely watching the show. It's a whole new world. Now can I get an 'Amen' from you feeders?

Totally agree with you that BB producers had too much of a hand in the show this year. I think (no - am sure) that they wanted to keep Dick in there to stir up trouble/ratings. Love or hate him, you still watch him. Hopefully, next year they will all be total strangers. That was truly an unfair advantage for the Donatos (even bad blood is thicker...).

I won't watch again till a winner is crowned and like you, won't vote either. Looking forward to next year if I can wait that long.

Thanks for making this season so enjoyable.

I so agree with your thoughts, HD, these HGs could have unloaded ED and his rude, crude, nothing mouth and his whiney daughter. I feel the entire relationship between them was an act and she is the one in control and he does their dirty work, do either deserve a buck, no way but CBS thinks so and they ruled the actions of the HGs, yes bring on strangers next year. I started watching AD and could not handle it at all with ED spitting, bragging and anymore of her with her foot or feet up on the table and him waiting on her could not be handled. I cancelled the recording on the DVR on AD, not worth the time of watching. I will continue to be a BB fan and hope next year's season will be a plus. I would think if ED wins the most he will share with his children but that girl wouldn't give a thing, probably not even to the grandmother that raised her. It would be great to see these two in about a year or so as the money will be blown very quickly. Thanks again HD for this site.

Thanks for everything HD. I couldn't have said it any better. Blessa

Posted by: Blessa at September 14, 2007 05:47 AM

You got it, AMEN!!!

Already have a favorite on DWTS and it hasn't even showed yet. Going on simply a personal opinion. Will probably flip once I see him dance. Anxious to see if you agree. Thats the beauty of your site!

I have to admit I watched the feeds for a few minutes last night and was still appauled by the dirt dishing. So instead of wasting anymore time and $, looked up the number and will cancel my feeds this am. I have never seen two more mean and down right dirty and nasty persons. They sure are blood. All I can say in a final note about BB8, is runnnnnnnnnnnn Nick runnnnnnnnnnnn...

Thanks HD. From here in Ohio, Peace, Health and Happiness until next BB. May it be a pure one!

Good morning, its a good morning.

I agree that there was WAY too much mucking with the game by Allison Grodner. She wanted Dick to win from the very beginning.

At the beginning of this season, Allison Grodner led us to believe that Dick and Danielle were estranged from one-another. I belive that this was fraud plain and simple.

Also, anyone who thinks the America's Player votes were actually counted is, in my opinion, a damned fool. It was all about Grodner mucking with the game. I now believe that Nick received the "America's Player" vote because Grodner wanted to get rid of him because she was afraid Nick was going to pull-down her pre-selected winners of the whole game, the Donatos.

In future seasons, people will have to keep it a secret if there is any sort of pre-existing relationship between them or they will be voted out immeidately.

I'm considering recording the finale show, then ripping it to my hard-drive, then editing-out every single frame that includes Dick or Danielle. I would then post it on YouTube. That way people who want to see the jury members and the reaction to America's Player will be able to without seeing the Donatos.

I would say I hope that D&D stay "on the grid." I'd really like to follow-up with them in a few years and see what their lives are like long after their 15 minutes are over, and the money is long since gone.

Posted by: EricC at September 14, 2007 06:01 AM

Amen HD.

I too say no to the feeds at this point. However, to be fair, it is usually boring during the final 2. They can't plot openly against each other any more. By this time each year the HGs are worn out - emotionally, physically, and oddly enough verbally. Suddenly they get very quiet and withdrawn. Lots of sitting around staring or eating and tons of sleeping.

Here is my wish list for next year:

- don't have an adgenda when selecting contestants. By this I refer to the fact that BB ensures that we fill out certain obvious minorities. I'm not saying to have an all 1 sex or all gay or all straight or all one religion or colour in the house. Mix it up - older, younger, pretty, not so pretty, skinny, fat... what ever they happen to be. Select them based on their personality and stability. Will they be a competitor? Have they shown that they want to win? Have competitions before you select them rather than just interviews.

2 - you have a year to think up better competitions. Please reduce the number of phone booth style comps.

3 - slop is so last year. Is that the best you can do?

4 - stop letting them break rules. Either you have a rule or you don't. If they break it give consequences. It doesn't have to be a penalty nom. How about a day secluded? Unable to play for HOH next round? Have to clean the washrooms...
Seriously, if they are escalating verbal violence to the level that Dick did this year send them to a time out - if they both participated then both of them go to separate time outs. And while they are gone the rest of the house can plot and plan without them.

- if you really want to keep the viewers interacting with the show come up with better things for us to vote on. I stopped voting on anything but eviction as the "tasks" this year were dumb.

- I know Thursdays were "live TV" but how embarasiing would it be to have to admit to all the technical errors, flubs, and mistakes that happen weekly? Are you a professional network? All TV was live at one point and they didn't make these kinds of mistakes.

- I'd like to interact more with the HGs - why not an award of 10 mins on a Blog page? You can let people post in to the winner before hand and they can read through and respond to posts. If you set a cut off for submissions and run it like HD does you can ensure we don't give information that you don't want them to receive. Infact - hire HD to manage it. I would love to have posted to any of them - "Please let Amber know that we are tired of seeing her naked." Or even "tell Dick the bunnies are funny and thanks"

HD will you be posting the links to your other blog pages here? I love Amazing Race and will be checking out Gordon Ramsey's new show.

I decided not to vote...and I'm also not watching the finale except for maybe the last 20 minutes so I can see the AP reveal. Damn if it wasn't for AP the Donatos would have been gone...too bad America waited too long to vote to evict Dani.

I also typed up a long complaint and emailed it to CBS. I pointed out the favoritism, rule breaking etc toward and by teh Donatos and how as a fan of the show since its inception I was truly disgusted...blah, blah, blah. I've never written a letter of complaint to a television channel. I know it won't get me anywhere...but at least they'll know what we're thinking.

If we all write them maybe they'll sit up and listen!

THANK YOU HD ! I could not have said it better myself. My thoughts exactly.

I'm so glad I found this site this Season. It is the 1st thing I look at every morning at work (oops, don't let the boss know !!) I love reading your thoughts, and everyone's comments. I love the "spoilers". Who knows, maybe next year I will watch the feeds.

I also did not vote, as like you, It doesn't matter to me. I don't like either one and I have no desire to watch them. I don't even know if I will watch the finale. The only reason I want to is to see the reaction the HG's have to the America's Player. And maybe to see the jury questions, but Dick and Daniele live in such a fantasy about themselves I don't think the Jury questions will even matter to them. I'm disappointed at the outcome, as I have been in the past years. Come to think of it, I cant remember when I was happy with a BB Winner. Hmmm.

Well, Thankfully SURVIVOR STARTS NEXT THURSDAY ! Survivor is my true favorite of reality shows. 6 Days and counting. I was happy to hear you will continue the blog for Survivor and other shows. I cant wait to find out more.

Posted by: BBUG at September 14, 2007 06:10 AM

I am looking forward to Tuesday night to see all of those self-righteous people on the jury HAVE to give the Donato's the money. They're all going to look like they have to throw up-maybe somebody will! I know how the people feel who don't like D&D-last year I felt that way about Boogie. I agree that next year there should be no twists. I can't wait for Survivor and I am so glad, HD, that you are going to blog all of those shows.

Posted by: Melissa at September 14, 2007 06:12 AM

Happy Friday HD.

I made my mind up last night that I wasn't going to vote either. Wasn't worth it.

After seeing the Big Brother After Dark since I got Showtime Too last month, I will DEFINITELY be subscribing to the feeds. It really does bring a whole new light to the game. I told my mom all the things I saw and heard ED do on BBAD, and she wound up disliking him just by what I've told her. It amazes me how CBS edits it!

As much as I don't care who wins now, I def. will be watching to see the reaction when people find out about America's Player!

And next wednesday starts ANTM! YAY!

Posted by: Stephie at September 14, 2007 06:22 AM

HD - sorry you aren't going to watch more feeds. I was watching this morning; it was actually funny to listen to Dick talk to the cameras. At least it isn't complete silence; he speaks to the cameras so we can hear his thoughts. He is so overwhelmed about the $550,000 just as anyone would be. He is planning his trip, just being a normal person; no pressure, no gameplay to worry about, etc.

Everyone in the game had a chance to get rid of D&D since the beginning; they have nobody to blame but themselves for the outcome. America had one vote; Eric was very influential with the other players getting them to change their minds so he was the biggest player; nobody had a mind of their own. Every year, this same scenario plays out. HG's go after certain people and they end up staying to the end because people in the house have no mind of their own; easily influenced by others so they can continue to float along. Jam admitted in the end she didn't play for herself; don't think that would have mattered in her case.

I cannot wait to see everyone's expression when they learn about Eric being AP. They will probably piss them off and things will start making sense.

I am sure Jam is enjoying enlightening everyone about what has been happening; she always enjoyed running to Jess during the season to keep her informed.

I would like to see a season of no twists, just gameplay. It has been quite awhile. No more allstars either. Just total strangers trying to cope amongst themselves. No more slop; PB&J come back; let's get back to the basics of the original BB game.

In all actuality, BB8 would have been very boringg had it not been for Dick. He made the game interesting and never hid behind anyone's coattails; he was what the house needed this year given all the floaters. I was so sick of watching Eric & Jess I wanted to puke; I had to turn the feeds off when all 4 were on them; with all the camera's in the house, it didn't make sense we couldn't watch the other HG's.

I don't like that it was aired on Showtime either. I think we missed seeing a lot more things this year on the show and in the live feeds because of it. Do away with Showtime. Why should we have to pay for another form of TV? The commercials on the live feeds were plentiful and annoying.

Well, I think we have told CBS what we want to see next season. Hopefully they will listen to the BB Fans.

Congrat's D&D and thanks for giving me a reason to watch BB this summer. I look forward to BB every year.

I am glad we can all sit back and judge an imperfect child, an overbearing dad and a messed up relationship between the two. Obviously everyone posting about the evilness and the selfishness and the unfairness, saying vile things about them have never had a rough relationship, never said something they wish they hadn't and never experienced, perhaps from a sideline, someone giving your child a late hit and the most surprising rage that comes over you , because trust me, if these people and this game have you this upset..you are sure to feel that way at times in your life.
Eric was told to vote out people and it did not ALWAYS WORK. We had an AP this year because when we did not, people sat and moaned about "I wish Amer. could vote, Jenele deserves this!!". It makes no difference what BB does, who is at the end or any of that stuff people sit about obsessing about now. Jess and Eric were going after Dick and Danelle and if they had been at the end and the one of the D's had been horribly betrayed, while one was left falling apart, there would have have been sympathy, there would have been outrage about the advantage of the AP...it never ends.
THe fact is, Eric being told did not turn the game to them, the house voted, not Eric. They could have broken up that group as a united house for just one week and THEY NEVER DID. Danielle and Dick both discussed that he could not do something that further hurt his bad shoulder and Danielle can not take cold and wet...so BB gave 'em both...no one is screaming about BB trying to do something dirty to them! This is the same, same, same every year...the winners are hated, but the thing there have been teams before and people have played with a partner(the twins, the secret partner game) and I remember when they brought in these pairs this year I was thinking "How unfair, they are targets from the get go!" But they rose about that all with a bit of luck with winning at the right times, but everyone had an equal chance to win too in the comps. It is a game and they did pull something off and they may have a giant ego and that is necassary and encouraged by casting..everyone there is in some way an ego-maniac to expose their lives and agree to be taped 24/7 for money.
I don;t know what is worse, what it takes to get to the end or the people that cry at the winners. I tend to think the latter.

(BTW, I know I made many mistakes and that you don't spell Janelle like that, but I wrote it all without checking as i went and when I went to correct, it made it worse cause it would not give me space, but covered my words that were already there..so with all the mistakes, i still hope it makes sense..lol)

Posted by: the d's at September 14, 2007 06:28 AM

Wow, the end of the season is always emotional. But... usually there is always one person you sit back and think... well, I would rather this person win over that person. This year, man I can't stand both of them so much that it is hard to pick who is more deserving. The one thing I can say about Dick is at least he was up front with it. Daniel would sit back and give all the suggestions and sit back with the evil grin while her daddy took all the crap from everyone. Then she would come forward and say, you don't understand what it's like to have him as a father. She may have been the puppet master but he took the risks. Just writing this makes me angry. I never thought I would miss Zach. Well I hope there time in the house was good because it will not be long after the show she will be treating him like crap again!

I just want to thank you for all the info
i would have gotten the live feed's but last year they were so choppy and i was dissapointed of how much was blocked
i agree Dick should win because no matter what he was GAME
thank's again for the blog

HD I agree with you. I also will not be voting this year I dont think that it really maters. The producers this year had way to much influence this time. I did not like the americas player I think that if they want America to vote they should just do the pole and allow us. It would make it more interesting bc the hamsters wouldnt know exactly what the vote would be. I have never been a huge reality fan but after I found this site I will be joining you in Survivor watching.
Thank you HD

Posted by: rebeccaann_r at September 14, 2007 06:49 AM

I wish the jurors had a third option, to not vote for either and the money goes to no one. This would influence upcoming players behavior and maybe they would think twice about pouring things on peoples heads and being verbally abusive. I love BB for its entertaining aspect and this season was not one of them. I muted dick so much while on the feeds, for his negativity and anger.

Posted by: pelster at September 14, 2007 06:53 AM

ya know...i was going to go off but it's not worth it. Just because the person you wanted to win isn't ..all of a sudden the show is showing favorites and cheating..shame ..shame....it's just a game..

Posted by: Dinkie at September 14, 2007 07:00 AM

VOTE WITH YOU FEET PEOPLE - by NOT voting!

Voting for one of these two means you agree with the outcome - Dick may have been a savvy player, but he crossed "the line" way too many times and in too many ways to be rewarded with even a stipend. CBS should be ashamed of the way the producers handled this trainwreck. Here is the question YOU have to ask YOURSELF: would you condone this type of behavoir in YOUR home? If you answered "no", don't vote! If you answered "yes" seek professional help soon... seriously. This may have been a "game" but it is also defined by rules and social standards, most of which were seriously violated during this production.

Want to know how to REALLY let them know how you feel? Don't buy from their advertisors - better yet, send your complaints to THEM, not CBS. Rest assured, if they hear from you they too will VOTE WITH THEIR FEET!

...on to a REAL reality show: Survivor!

Thanks for such an excellent blog HD! Good job!

Posted by: Bob at September 14, 2007 07:05 AM

Great post HD.

I do think BB needs to make a few changes:

1. Go back to complete strangers.

2. Up the cash reward (it's not like they can't afford it (the text msg fees alone would more then cover any increase). S/B $1 million grand prize $100Gs for second.

3. I like positive encouragement and also to help make everyone think about whether they want to play or float along - Award $10Gs for each comp won. It would definitely make peeps think twice about just sitting back and throwing a comp, but they would still have that choice.

4. If they decide to try to keep America directly involved, don't use an AP. Just flat out give us 1 vote for eviction each week, letting the hamsters know this which would remind them that we are watching and so they may have to take into consideration that they also have to adjust their play for us.

5. Have the penalty vote take away from any prize money or gifts they have won as well as a possible vote.

I did love this season as I am a Donato's fan. But the best part of the season was reading your site - looked forward every day to checking things out here as much if not more than the actual shows on the tube!

You and a lot of your posters (both pro and con Donatos) have been a true joy to read and follow.

Thanks again for a great season!

Agree and ... PS will you watch House Calls today with Allison? AMEN!

From HD - Oh most definitely I will be watching House Calls today!

Posted by: paminmn at September 14, 2007 07:13 AM

You are right HD, people are passionate about BB and it happens every year which is why I love it and I love your blog.

I never get riled up about any of the other reality shows because you just can't follow them as closely as BB and plus they are all over usually before they even air.

I won't be watching the feeds either and it's not because of their gloating, it's because it's just boring. If I want to see two people bicker I guess I can just look at my husband and myself. Don't need the feeds for that!! LOL

The only thing I am really looking forward to in the finale is seeing the look on everyone's (especially Jessica) when they reveal the AP twist. I think the jury is going to give Dick the same treatment that he gave them during the questioning.

I did get a little nauseated with the thought of Jessica and Eric getting it on in the jury house as Dustin eluded to. I think it's cute but it's not hot and I don't even want my mind to go there. If I do I will have to schedule my labotamy the next day.

Whatever happens to Dick and Daniele after this is irrelevant to me because I have enough trouble keeping track of my own life let alone theirs.

I am looking forward to your blog next year!!!

Posted by: Roz at September 14, 2007 07:13 AM

The only thing that brought Dick and Danielle back together is greed. And I hope it splits them back up again. This so-called reunited, repaired relationship is a crock. I hope the jury gives the $ to Danielle, because she will take it and run. Dick keeps boasting "o WE won" hmmmm - wonder if they will split it evenly... hmmmm

Posted by: Ro at September 14, 2007 07:17 AM

I actually am shocked at the tone and course of HD's comments. The best two players - both strategically and competitively - are in the final. Dick and Dani earned their spots.

Have the same two players been nominated three times together, and neither gone home, ever happened in BB history? Has a "couple" (whether it be friends, enemies, or just a secret duo) ever made it all the way to the end?

The answers are no.

This was a great performance by D&D, and the best BB season since BB3.

I applaud Dick and Dani.

Posted by: Shamrock at September 14, 2007 07:27 AM

"AMEN"!

You and I agreed so much this year. It seemed like we were in tune almost all the time. Even now as I stated last night that I won't be voting either. Maybe if all of us who don't like either D & D don't vote CBS will see such a low vote count they will take us seriously.

I think I may be a little more enthusiastic about the real romance between J & E. Hope it survives the announcement of AP. Might cause a little rough water for a while. Wonder if he already told here in the privacy of sequester?

I don't watch the feeds any more either. I'm still sick to my stomach. It might be terminal. I hope the other shows are not on at the time. I can't remember if they are all on the same network but I think not. Thank goodness for network time shifting. If I miss it on the eastern show I can watch 3 hours later on the western or can record on either of my VCR's. LOL

Do you watch Beauty & The Geek? It's getting ready to start. Is that on your blog list? it's hilarious.

It's been super having a place like this to vent my frustrations. I wrote in to Feedback on BB with a suggestion on inceasing the prizes. After the post I got a disclaimer that basically said they don't accept suggestions for contests or plots or unsolicited comments. I got the impression they don't care what we think.

I just retired this year and have the time to watch all the shows I never really got into before because of work. I look forward to spending a lot of time posting with you. Thanks again. LOVE YA!

Hey HD! awesome post! its my first time with BB and i got hooked with Daniele to be honest. Im happy she made it to the final, and im happy to have discovered Big Brother! haha Your site is awesome and changed the way i would usually watch things (via tv only) i got inside scoops with your blogs, you tube, it got me in the know of the game and really got me egging my hamster faves on! Thanks again HD! more power!

Thank you HD for remaining always the diplomat, even though you are the biggest fan of all, you manage to keep your cool with all of us! I agree with you, I will be letting D/D fans decide who wins. I honestly don't have a feeling either way, so it is their day, they should choose.

Have a great Friday and see you next season!

Posted by: Fitgirl at September 14, 2007 07:29 AM

Well...my Zackhunk didn't make it. I wept, moaned, beat my breast and about launched my TV out the window at the end of the show when D/D were in the kitchen sounding like evil gremlins.

In the end, it is what it is.

HD, I know that you don't want to vote but I did and I gave it to Danielle. Here's why: The conspiracy types want to think that D/d had a reasonable relationship coming into the show. However, remember when Dani was in the room and Dick was having his first real heart to heart with her and she was just sitting on her bed curled with her face hidden crying? Now, color me a softy, but that was real pain and deep sorrow on her part born of betrayal. I don't think that conversation was faked. I think she really did hate him coming in, even if it's changed a wee bit maybe here at the end.

That leads me to believe that, once these two are out of the house, she will go back to not giving this man the time of day. Much more, a sous of $500,000. He keeps saying "We won it all!" but, ahem, there will be no "we" winning the big one on Tuesday...just one person will walk away with all that.

My bias in my decision is that I am a parent. So, I look at this from that vantage and I think that the history of these two is so horrid. Dick's attempts at "fathering" over the last three months cannot and will not, for Danielle, ever restore the fact of what he chose to do with her early in her life. She's got deep, wide wounds with long, long memories.

So, I'm voting to give her the big one and let him deal with the fact that "we" did not win it, she did, and she is going to walk away from him with it carefully tucked under her arm and not a backward glance.

Maybe that money will burn out of her hands in a year or two, or maybe she will actually do something smart with it. I don't know her grandmother, but I think she has more of a head on her shoulders and a grip with reality. I don't know. But my better guess at what Dick would do with that money is probably very close to the truth and most of it won't be legal or have anything to do with either of his kids. Let him take his $50K and beam off to Barbados or wherever but do what you can to help keep him from feeling any reward whatsoever for his vile displays of "gameplay" and the effed up way he's dealt with his kids.

HD...and all of you non-voters out there... please reconsider, and go cast votes for Danielle and send off a wing and a prayer that at least she might have enough redeeming smarts to make it count for something. We know it won't with Dick.

With that...it's over and out, roger wilco, and thanks for all the fish!

Mostly, i am writing this to once again "say thank you, HD", for all your work and for the release it gives us, Jen fans, Dick fans and agnostic fans alike. The only profound comment i wish to level is to remind all of us hamster-watchers that the purpose of the show is to entertain us, and, for the producers, to make some moola, net-net. (By the way, please remember that , if there is no net profit, there is no BB 9) To that end, i think that Allison Grodner productions did a fabulous job.

They exposed the show to even more people with the Showtime Too experience. They enticed more people to watch the live feeds by "completing" challenges after the live show, on the Internet. The message boards are more extensive and livelier than ever. The use of past HG's was expanded, and, i think, more cleverly applied. Most important to me is that the show was seldom boring. I watched Showtime, have Superpass year-around, read your blog, and never missed a Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday show.

I know that i harp on this a lot, but the only thing that will truly kill BB will be another Nerd Herd year. Marcellus was instructional to future players when he told them to stay up late and plot and scheme when the live feed watchers were into it. It is likely that Allison's team had something to do with reminding the cast (i repeat, "cast") that they were expected to be entertaining as well as game-playing. Didn't you also think that the challenges were less lame, even with the not-fully-realized visit from the Little Person, mime and quartet? Anyhow, "scoreboard" for the Donato's, and please, oh please, let Amber make it to America's Next Top Model, or at least to a rematch with Drew Carey, now that he knows what a moron she is.

I agree with alot of what you wrote, HD. I am hoping for a more pure season next year with no twisted and no teams.

I'm hoping that CBS learns from this season and listens to their audience to make the show better. I like the concept of penalties for the Hamster ignorance (not listening. etc). I really didn't like the show this time as much as past seasons.

Thanks for a great blog, and I'll be sure to check out your other reality blogs too. You have the best blog out there and so easy to manuvre (sp?) around. I like your wit, style, and diplomacy and I laugh all the time while reading your posts.

I settled in last night to watch BB8 and asked God to forget about wars and hurricanes and disease and take a moment to let Zach win HOH. Imagine my surprise that God would not take a moment from these things and interfere with CBS' grand plan! I won't be voting, I can't stand either of them either. I can just hear Dick telling the jury to vote for Danielle, so he can buy back her love. Danielle will tell the jury that she couldn't control her father. Danielle will win all the money. Thankfully Survivor is starting next week. I will continue to follow your site for that. Thanks for all the time you put into keeping us up-to-date!!

Posted by: cathy j at September 14, 2007 07:43 AM

"AMEN"

I will watch the remaining two shows, if for nothing more than to see the reaction of the house guests to America's Player. And to watch Eric react when he finds out that Drew Carey really is the new host of The Price is Right. How funny it will be!!! HD- cannot wait to hear what you are going to do with Survivor!

Posted by: Dianna at September 14, 2007 07:52 AM

AMEN, HD!!!!

I've been a huge fan of yours for years and I can't wait to see what ya got for next year!

I completely agree that this is truly one of the most unique experiences for both the fans of the show and the HG's on the show. There is nothing to compare it to because it's so "in your face" 24/7.

I agree that if you don't watch the live feeds, then you truly do not know the full BB experience and have sold yourself short as a fan. Being able to see the raw, unedited versions of the HG's is one of the most important factors in my determining who I am rooting for.

I also 100% agree, HD, which is isn't always the case for us:), that the show needs to go back to the pure show. No secret pals, no twists, no AP...just let these 14 complete strangers come in to the house and let the cards fall where they may. I also agree that they need to go back to PBJ. The slop is just not cutting it....

I would like to see more changes in the competitions. Don't stick to tradition, shake things up...truly give them the "Expect the Unexpected"....Hand out penalties...Don't keep the storage room so stocked....Don't give them hot water all day....Don't allow them to sleep in all day or take hours long naps....this is a competition....make it more competitive.

I am sad to see this season end but so happy w/ the way that it's played out. I haven't been so happy since Maggie won in S6, which I know I'm usually a lone Maggie fan, but regardless, I still am and always will be a Maggie fan:)

I would really, really like to see Evel Dick win tonight. He's put so much heart and soul into this game, just to keep him and his daughter there another day. Love him or hate him, he's played an awesome game.

Amen, HD, Amen!!!!

Posted by: KylainTx at September 14, 2007 07:54 AM

HD-- you were always there to let us know what happened when it happened and I thank you for that. I agree, no more twists.
Who were you rooting for to win?

From HD - I was rooting for Jen to win. I didn't care for her at first but grew to really appreciate her guts. She let me down something awful when she broke down and ate. After Jen, I can't say that I was really rooting for anybody. I just didn't want Whamber, Dick, or Daniele to win. Sometimes things don't happen the way we want them to though. Such is life.

Posted by: alaskanjody at September 14, 2007 07:54 AM

As much as I wish I could dislike Dick and Daniele, I don't. I absolutely don't agree with their tactics, but I was happy for them that there dreams came true. I have like Daniele from the beginning, even in all her whining.

I think it's interesting that you want a more hands-off BB next year with less input from producers/America, but you also don't want a "free for all" as far as the behavior of the houseguests. It seems like you're arguing both sides.

Here's an interesting idea for next year: what if the house was all guys or all girls? Or better yet, have 1 house of each, and later combine them (without them knowing beforehand). You know it would be interesting to see the catiness and frat boy tendencies.

I greatly enjoy reading your blog; thanks!

Posted by: Lynn at September 14, 2007 08:00 AM

Maybe I am a libertarian here when it comes to Big Brother, but I don't agree with all these people complaining that Dick wasn't sanctioned for being mean. That's his personality and method of playing the game. If the producers get involved over something like that it becomes a slippery slope. Do you really want MORE producer involvment in the way the hamsters play this game?

On the whole Donato advantage, some of you are saying the producers wanted this all along. My question: Why? Why would the producers possibly care that a family wins? Also, some people going into the game are going to be better off fromt eh getgo whether from good looks, brains, or whatever. As in life, we aren't on a level playing field, but the cream will rise to the top. Or in this case the bile will. Maybe the lesson is to Crush Your enemies. Or that a stitch in time saves nine. I don't know, there has to be a lesson here somewhere, I just don't know what it is.

And lastly, I hate these two, but they really did make the show (at least dick did, dani was horribly annoying.) Can anyone imagine how much this would have sucked if it was nothing but Jameka and Amber praying all damn season?

Posted by: The Dentist at September 14, 2007 08:18 AM

Do they win extra for making to the end together?

Posted by: Lisa at September 14, 2007 08:25 AM

Does anyone only watch the show ??? lol I can't even imagine...

Did you see the pic of Dani on I love Reality? Only she could look like that after winning the whole thing...lol

I think Vincent should do a "leave Dick and Dani alone" video lmao

Posted by: Jessfan at September 14, 2007 08:28 AM

I will not be watching Showtime for the rest of the time these two "trash heapsters" are in the house. This makes two years in a row that Big Brother has ended wtih the worst of people! Zach showed class when he tried to congratulate the idiots, who couldn't be bothered to be civil even after winning. Oh, how much I dislike those two. Can you tell? LOL!

HD, you have done a marvelous job keeping us posted on everything, thank you so much. I also did not vote last night, I could care less now. Hope Allison the great producer is happy with what she managed to turn out. Why didn't she just give Dick the money instead of subjecting the houseguests to his anger and filth? If she is on board next year, I absolutely will not be watching.

Posted by: Sandie at September 14, 2007 08:29 AM

do u think there will be another show next year?

From HD - Oh yeah, most definitely! And I guarantee you, I'll be watching.

Posted by: Nerdess at September 14, 2007 08:30 AM

Did I hear Dick say that he and Danielle were the best "partners" in BB history? Also, I think another poster wrote that they applied two years ago as partners. HD, is that true?

Thanks for your diligence and excellent writing! What a fun site!

Tam

From HD - Season 6 was the partners twist.

Posted by: Tam at September 14, 2007 08:38 AM

I will not be voting either. They both made me so sick. I actually liked Dick when the show first started but then his true self came out. So what he won HOH due to a guessing game?? How could BB put the toughest comp. first? And then the final comp. have them guess who made those statements from the JURY HOUSE!! That was not fair at all in my opionion. They should have asked questions that pertained to actually being in the BB house. Everyone in the house wanted to sit beside D or D in the final so thats why they floated along to the end. I am so glad I do not have to look at Dick anymore (maybe he will sleep until the Jury Vote! LOL) Neither deserve the money over the other.

BB and CBS you need to pay attention to your viewers comments and emails. We are why the show is still on the air and anymore of the abuse there will be no more BB!

Thanks for this Blog!!!

Posted by: Melanie * South Carolina at September 14, 2007 08:39 AM

HD, I agree with you for the most part. I did, however, take the time to vote for Dick tonight. He makes me sick to my stomach, but Danielle does not deserve the money. She was good in competitions, but strategically, she was lucky. She basically had three players working for--herself, her father, and AP. The previous seven winners had to do it alone. So, I'm voting for Dick just because I don't want to see their plan work.

From HD - Don't forget that the voting period has not closed yet. So I'm sure some of you will remember to vote from work right? ;)

Posted by: Psychodrew at September 14, 2007 08:39 AM

HD, Have enjoyed your sight, was wondering if you
can tell all of us how to contact CBS, or sponsors?? Maybe if we all SPEAK UP... we will get back the REAL Big Brother next season.

CBS should be ashamed to air the filth and trash we put up with this season. CBS and sponsors promoted verbal and mental abuse, gay bashing, religion, politics & The President, coded letter, drug use....and on and on. I agree.. run Nick RUN. Are Dick and Dani truly related?? If they are, I say use the money on rehab, therapy, and a life and social skill's coach. Thank's again HD for all the updates, and we can HOPE for a better (REAL) BB9 season.

Posted by: Dana Nelson at September 14, 2007 08:41 AM

I will be voting and I so enjoyed the show this year. I think the reason the show was edited the way it was is because Dick and Daniele are just both fun to watch. There wasn't another one in the house more interesting. I would have been okay if Zack had won, but I'm really glad that Dick will probably win. Who do you think America will vote to win the $25,000 or $40,000 fan favorite (like Janelle won last year). Thanks again for everything HD!

From HD - It was $25,000 (I was wrong on a previous comment) and I have no idea. LOL

Posted by: Mary at September 14, 2007 08:54 AM

"I hate this. This sucks. Everybody sucks. I hate everybody."-Dani

I couldn't agree more. I will watch the last 2 shows and the D's reaction after Jury questioning on live feeds if that is taped before Mondays show.

I have actually had to turn the TV off or go to another room when these 2 winners(whiners) have been on lately. The special treatment afforded Dick this season was appaling. In previous seasons didn't smoking hamsters always run out of smokes? Lets hope next season is better.

Posted by: Dan at September 14, 2007 09:00 AM

Here's what I would do-

14 strangers

prize money starts at zero, they have to earn money thru comps (Australia did this this season)

3 finalists, not 2 (so the last week is at least interesting-just alter the F3 HOH to a final 4 challenge-winner of the endurance round is in F3 automatically and doesn't have to play other parts, winner of part 2 gets an advantage in part 3 over the other 2 players, winner of part 3 is the eviction vote)

EVERY person is in the jury, not just last 7

With everyone in the jury, that's 11 votes. The 12th vote is an audience vote-and if it's a tie, it's also the tiebreaker.

Winner gets full prize amount, runner's up split 20% of the total.

HOH gets to vote EVERY week- and is a "Supervote"- it counts double. In exchange, audience gets to pick one nom in a weekly vote. HOH picks the other, and can decide whether or not to tell the others which is which.

Posted by: David at September 14, 2007 09:07 AM

I don't know what to say. You've said all HD and did it eloquently.

I caught up on the programs I Tivoed during the BB season. When I finished each program, I checked in on Showtime and saw Dick throwing things around and kicking the stove, counter, refrigerator etc. Violence seems to be his MO even when he's happy.

Daniele seemed to be worried, dad would win. In my own personally theory...she's know Dick will share his winnings with his son. She is so selfish, she wants it ALL. If she does win the 500k, Dick will never see her again (till she blows it all).

Anyway, I'm with you and won't be voting either. Like others have said, it would be funny as hell if the the other HGs DIDN'T vote. That would be the ultimate twist.

Lets hope if BB returns next year, they hire producers who have gone through puberty. This college prank type of "good TV" is not my cup of "43 oz" tea.

What's with mexican music when CBS showed the sequester house. The jury is in California. (Mexico probably refused to let them in their country)

The moderator for the last show should be OJ Simpson. He could really tell them how to be cut throat.

Check out the Sept 13 Rob and Trevor show. One of my comments made it on air. Thanks for letting me know about that and other sites. I can't find anything on You Tube, so I'm glad when you put a hyperlink up.

I'm not much for Reality TV, (I luv Amazing Race and like BB) but if you do postings on Survivor, I'll start watching that one.

What ever you decide to do, keep us posted..A Fan of HD

I just wanted to say thank you for you wonderful website. I have been addicted to this silly show this whole season. This was my first year watching, and it will be my last. I am horrified at the outcome. I turned off my TV right when Dick go the question right. I quickly went to your site. It was easier to take in print than on the screen.

I will stick to The Biggest Loser from here on out. I love watching the people get thin : ) Watching a Dick is not so much fun.

Thanks so much!
Dawn

AMEN ! thank you so much for a great effort during this pitiful year. I actually read your blog during last nights show (i'm on west coast) and then didn't even bother watching the actual show. I probably will not vote either but if I do, it will be for Dani and hope she can walk away permanently from ED. I would love it if you could print a list of sponsors for those of us who would like to send them letters regarding CBS handling of the show this season. I believe they could make the producers sit up and listen! Can't wait to read your survivor blogs, thanks for a great summer!

Posted by: dizzygrl at September 14, 2007 09:53 AM

AMEN,HD
What date are you going to post about BB, before you start Survivor??? And will it be the same format as this one, or are you just going to do live blogging??

From HD - It will be in blog format like this one.

Posted by: eekoms3 at September 14, 2007 09:58 AM

HamsterDame thank you very much for your website. I absolutely love it and have been visiting it all summer =) I love reading everyone's comments and giggling to myself. You're fabulous!! Can't wait till next summer and BB9.

I'm wishing for total strangers in the house, no twists and for the producers to keep their noses out of it and just let the game play itself out.

(Hugs)

I don't even have the feeds and I'll give you an AMEN to that!!

Next season... I want to see complete strangers!! And not just complete strangers... but throw in some more average freaking people! I'm tired of watching a bunch of aspiring models/actors/inventors/blah blah whatever... you know!!

many thanks!

From HD - Yup! It will cover Survivor as well as many other popular reality shows. Details soon.

Posted by: dol at September 14, 2007 10:34 AM

Agree with you as usual, HD!

And one of the worst things about the D&D thing, to me, is that they were presented as "estranged" just to fit the gimmick of BB8! Why, why, why did CBS do this to the BB fans? (Is ED "dating" Grodner? What a romantic relationship that would be.)

Posted by: MarshmallowPie at September 14, 2007 10:44 AM

Alison Grodner (the producer) was just on House Calls and did say that if you had scripted BB as a movie you would have had this outcome -- estranged father and daughter unite to go the end. Blah Blah Blah.

I also hope they give the money to Dani. If they do Dick won't see one penny of it (despite all of his "we won" comments). I predict that once Dani gets the money she won't be speaking to Dick again.

Posted by: KC Guy at September 14, 2007 10:45 AM

Amen! Thank you Lord! ;P I've been practicing.

I agree! And that's the only thing I can smile a bit about, is that it's not just the producers or the twist it was those hamsters that let them win. They had called from the second that they were a threat. They saw Dick's self-sacrificing behavior, they saw that Daniele tells her dad everything (and honestly, who wouldn't?) and they saw to what extent Dick would do for his daughter. And yet they didn't get rid of them. Silly Hamsters, didn't they watch Mike and Will last season?

Posted by: Brittany at September 14, 2007 10:49 AM

I am confused HD. Just a few weeks ago you were all gaga for Dick and you said that he was what made this season worth watching. What happened? I am bummed that Eric lost. I think if anyone has complaint about being messed with by production it is him. The tasks were so obviously thought of each week. And they were stupid. It should have been just the noms and vote. The kissing, prankss etc were lame and they seriously messed with his game. I hope they don't do that again. We all want to play on some level but sharing a vote with everyone is not the same as really getting to play. Anyway, as for the Denatos... I voted for Dani. I am a girl with daddy issues so I have some sympathy for her. Can you imagine being treated the way he treated the other HG's by your dad. Pretty messed up. I would love it if she won, took the money and said "f-u dad you aren't getting a penny" but I know that is too much to ask. The feeds are always boring at the end but at least it is better than Erika talking about Boogie being her baby daddy. Eww...

From HD - I haven't been gaga over Dick in a long time.

Posted by: Ellie Mae at September 14, 2007 11:22 AM

My favorites of this season are gone. All the competitions are over. I am still coming to your site. I am addicted to this place.

My favorites were Eric, Jessica, and Jen.
Which season did your favorite win?
For me my favorite season was the 3rd.

From HD - My favorite (Will Kirby) won in S2.

Posted by: Alfy at September 14, 2007 11:39 AM

Talk about a sore loser! If Zach had made it to the final two you'd probably wouldn't be saying the producers etc. fixed the show. Dick might be really cude, but the best two players did make it. Dick gets all my votes and I'm glad to give it to him. Dick & Dani Rule!!!!

Posted by: Jan at September 14, 2007 11:42 AM

Dr Will is my favorite too! My bestfriend and I were obsessed with him Season 2. (We still talk about the giant peanut butter jar and him saying 'I'm the luckiest boy in the land!' when he won it)

She moved out to Cali, and decided to get a couple of her tattoos removed. She called me after the appointment freaking out. I finally got her calmed down enough for her to spit out...'Dr Will is my doctor.' So of course we had to dish out if he is as good looking in person and did he come across goofy or totally professional. She never asked him any BB questions or even made any reference that she knew who he was...she was too nervous! I think I would have talked the guys ear off!

Posted by: Stephie at September 14, 2007 12:03 PM

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN! Let's get this one over with! I am curious to see the jury questions, especially Jen's. I have been in agreement with most of your posts this season, HD; that was awesome. Hopefully next year's BB will have NO twists, just strangers trying to play a game. No more advantages, please - especially producer interference. If it happens again, I do not think I will be able to watch. I am looking forward to a true BB next season. Please CBS!
Thanks again, HD. I really enjoy your comments!

Posted by: Mishys at September 14, 2007 12:03 PM

Thanks to you HD. Your blog actually made this season bearable. I looked forward to reading what you had to say each and every day.

I too am not voting. Maybe, just maybe, if enough of us protest by not voting then they will realize that they are losing audience.

The only reason I'm even going to watch the show is to see the reaction to them finding out about AP.

Otherwise I could not care any less who wins the money. If Dick wins then he will spread it among his family, I'm sure, but I hate to see his horrid behavior rewarded. If Dani wins I'm sure she will not share it and that will just fit right in with her behavior all along. Either way, I'm really not interested in that part any more.

Next season I will check in but if it looks like the Producers are once again going to manipulate things like they did this season then I'm probably not going to watch. I want a season of actual strangers, actual real rules, no favorites, and no abuse allowed for ratings. Gimmicks do not add to the program.

Thanks again HD for your hard work.

I found your site late in the game but I'm so glad I did. Your comments and insights are so refreshing, of course, we always agree so that helps!
Me too, I will NOT vote for either of them and I will not watch the finale. Done with BB8!
Hope they take their ill gotten gains and use it for family counseling, they need it!
See you next year!

after a few hours of bitterness last night i decided, so what? who cares? let the trashy dysfunctional family have their money. let them have their 15 minutes of fame afterwards...i'll have my remote ready to turn them off if i see them!!
i am on to bigger and hopefully better horizons....i'm talking about Survivor!!! have i missed your details regarding your blog on it? how about Amazing Race?
thank you so much for allowing me to vent on your blog... you always accepted my rantings...sometimes i was sure they wouldn't pass inspection. i always looked forward to your opinion first thing in the morning along with my coffee. you did another great job this season.

Posted by: callie44 at September 14, 2007 12:24 PM

Amen and hallelujah!

HD: Can't disagree with any of that! ;^)

I too hope the producers will not meddle in the game next season and stop with the stupid twists and pairings. Just let the hamsters be hamsters and we'll all be happier.

I would also like to see the feeds offered on SHOTOO or another premium channel as well as through Real.

I am always sad to see the hamsters leave the cage, even those I loathe, but there's always next season! We have Survivor, TAR, America's Next Top Model and Project Runway to tide us over.

However nothing tops BB for sheer voyeurism and socially dysfunctional fun!

Posted by: BJ at September 14, 2007 12:37 PM

I probably won't get the feeds next year, unless it's only for 1 month, after a free trial. I will read your blog every day, though. I finally did watch the show last night. Wow, such poor sportsmanship I've never seen. I was laughing, though, when Zach said that Dick was like a drill seargent, and it only motivated him. I voted for Dick to win the money.

Wouldn't it be funny if on the final show, Nick were to snub Dani, saying I can't believe how bad you treated my friend Zach? And then for Dani's boyfriend to say, man, one week away, and you're already cheating. No thanks, I'm out of here! To me, that would be the best possible scenario.

Posted by: sandic at September 14, 2007 12:42 PM

Amen, HD!!! Loved the show last night and all the comments too. I am also ready for an all stranger cast (no twisting in the wind going on) and PB & J sounds great.

Posted by: Jimmie at September 14, 2007 12:44 PM

Well, I think I'm somewhat in the minority here, as D/D are the final 2 HGs who I would have chosen. I think that BB is not about personalities and being a good or nice guy, it's about playing a game. Certainly if it was about being good/nice then Jameka would have won, hands down.

To me, Dick is a complex guy; mostly hateful and certainly vile, but there is another side that shows at times. And I appreciate that he did not ride anyone else's coattails, and he said what he felt, good or bad. Daniele is cold and calculating, yet showed great compassion the other night (to both her dad and Zach) during the endurance challenge. But the bottom line is they played the game absolutely the best of anyone this season and they deserve to be where they are. The only person who perhaps would've played better was Eric if not for the AP.

That brings me to the AP and the BB producers. This game should not have the outside influence of the viewers, at all. We do not live in that house. The hamsters are there for our entertainment and to compete for a prize. We should be happy just to watch and hope for our favorites to win. Just like TAR or Survivor.

So next year, as you've said HD, I would like to see no AP, no twists, just 14 complete strangers. I agree that there should be consequences for bad behavior, and for breaking the rules. Any of the rules. Maybe the rules need to be rewritten. Because absolutely nobody deserves to be talked to or treated the way Dick treated several of the HGs. But there are other HGs that were equally as bad, and perhaps worse in a few instances, specifically Eric and Dustin. Maybe bad behavior is contagious. And most certainly, in my opinion, BB contributed to Dick's bad behavior. And I believe they encouraged it. So that makes them equally culpable, don't you think?

Just one other comment: I wonder if Daniele had been there without her father, would we have liked her better? Would she not have played 95% of the time with that whiny, princess-like and spoiled demeanor? Would she perhaps have shown more compassion and fun? And as for Dick, if he didn't have the weight of trying to win for both of them, would he have just had fun and not been quite so hateful? We'll never know...

Thanks for a great site, HD, all of your hard work was appreciated. I'll be looking for your other blogs for sure!

I never really post comments but I chat sometimes and Always watch the feeds! Again ur right totally diffrent experiences. I've really truley enjoyed reading Silly Hamsters and yes I'll read again next season. Thanks Again!

HD, since you've watched every season (as have I), where to you rant this years cast-the players not the show- as a whole?

I think It's 3rd on my list....

Season 5 was the best to me (overall)
Season 4
Season 8
Season 3
Season 2
Season 1
Season 7
Season 6 (just because of the "friendship"...)

you just wrote everything that I was thinking myself. you're awesome!

HD - forgive me if you have already addressed this 1 million times but I haven't noted anything nor have i read today's comments yet... but... is the sillyhamsters blog site specific to big brother, does it stay the same for survivor china, or do you have a different blog site (e.g., smellymeandummiesinchina.com) for survivor?

From HD - Silly Hamsters will be for Big Brother only. I will post the address for the other blog covering Survivor and other reality shows in the next few days.

I have to say your wrong. Not going to say if I'm a D & D fan or not but you are wrong. Season 7 sure was favored more than this one. Remember Kaysar? Voted out. People cried, so, put him back in. Guess it was forgotten that Howie got VERY physical in that season too. There were teams in that one too, hummmm. Seems BB watchers only remember things when it will benefit those they like. How dare Jameka state she was there to represent the ENTIRE black community. I didn't hear Eric say he was there for the jewish community, or Dick that he was for the metal heads. You are right on one factor, the games were rigged. It was unfair to subject Danielle to freezing water in cold weather knowing that she had no fat reserves to fall back on. Or that the water encased Dick most of the time but not Zach. It was unfair that the blue ball bounced into jameka's tube and nothing was done about it. It was wrong for CBS to DESTROY Jen's shirt, even more so for people to VOTE to do it. You can tell what I'm getting at. The shows morals are down the tubes. But it wouldn't be like that if the public didn't want it. For the record, I thought it VERY distasteful for CBS to put a NY fireman and a muslim on the same show right AFTER 9/11, then even more so for the public to love the muslim and hate the fireman. And you really wonder about BB's agenda?

From HD - What exactly about my opinion is wrong? What does my post have to do with BB7 or BB6? Why couldn't a fireman and a person of Muslim faith being in the BB house together four years after 9/11? Oh, and Cappy was a firefighter in the Boston area (not New York) before moving to Las Vegas and being a captain in the LVFD.

While I agree on some of your points mainly that Dick was the ultimate stratagist thid season I am just wondering why you would not want to vote or watch te feeds. Last year when my hopefull Janelle was knocked out I still watched the feeds. I mean it is only a game and Dick and Danielle played a great game compared to the other HG. Jameka, and Jessica slept through the season Dustin thought he was the King of the house Zach did nothing till the end. The only two other players worthy were Eric and Jen. All in all for me it was a great season. Are you going to watch the final?

From HD - I don't want to vote because it makes no difference to me who wins. Honestly. I dislike them both equally. As far as the feeds are concerned, I may turn them on from time to time but I won't have them constantly on like before. I actually turned them on for a little bit last night (about 10 mins) and it was the same crap from them. Same thing this morning. And of course, I'll be watching the shows. What kinda crazy woman do you think I am? LOL

Posted by: Rob at September 14, 2007 02:47 PM

HD I am with you all the way. I will not be voting because it doesn't matter to me which Donato gets the money. I did not watch BBAD last night because I didn't care to see Daniele & Dick gloating and talking about everyone.

They were right they did make big brother history as the oldest & youngest to win, as the only alliance to make it to the end together, as the most disgusting, as the biggest a*holes, as the worst sports ever!!! But I have to give it to them they did win when they needed to. I can't help but wonder what would have happened if the HG's hadn't gotten rid of Dustin. Well no since in crying over spilled milk.

I wasn't as mad as I thought I would be when Dick won. I had a feeling Zach wouldn't be good at the questions. He gave it his best, too bad he didn't step forward sooner. But enough of the would of, could of, should of, IT'S OVER.

Just please no more AP, no more Dicks, no more father & daughters or vise versa unless all are related to even the playing field, that is if CBS is considering something like that again. And we've got to have much stricter rules that have to be enforced on everyone.

GB I love your post!!!

Posted by: Cerenay at September 14, 2007 02:49 PM

Dick and Daniele's so gracious (NOT) win against Zack said it all. I will not watch the finale.

I hate the heavy handed way that CBS produced this show. Get rid of all the CRAP (twists, etc) and go back to just picking a diverse group of people for us to watch interact.

I am sure that when Eric saw Zach come through the door I completely got lost in his hairline *LOL*.

Goodbye and thanks for the blog HD! Maybe we will have a BB9 to watch together.

Sincerely,
Eric's Eyebrow

HD, I just want to say thank you for making this season better by your comments and info on the feeds. This is only my second year watching and I am a BB addict now. This year I tuned into your blog to get the info first! I can't wait to get the feeds next year as I see from your side how much more info you all get from them that we never get to see or hear. I do believe BB had a greater hand in this season and I do not particularly care for the AP twist either. I am a die hard D&D fan and am glad one of them will win...However, it is good getting the comments and up to date info from you all who have been BB fans longer than I. I appreciate it and will be chatting with you again next season!

Hi HD Off topic question, Will you be blogging Kid Nation? Being a parent myself, Im not sure if I like the concept or not but I will give it a try. How about you?

From HD - Yes, I'll be blogging about it.

Posted by: rebeccaann_r at September 14, 2007 03:31 PM

I tuned into the feeds this morning only to find that Dani was already whining and going off on her dad. Dani obviously does not like her dad any more so than the day they entered the house. She wants to leave NOW!!!

Dani stormed out of the backyard into the house... followed by Dick saying, "Stop being childish. Bltch Bltch Bltch. It's not like you're going to be here for the rest of your life. It's only a few more days." While Dani went back to her bed and crawled under the blanket in order to pout and cry in private. Whaaaaaaaaaaa!

The way they behaved during BB8 was not game play. It was just their horrid lifestyle on camera. If there was any game from Dani it was as she said "played strategically not personal". She "strategically" aligned with her dad. She has no "personal" interest in a relationship with him. She'll dump him as fast as she can get out of the house.

BigDaddy and BigBaby will leave BigBrother with the money. But Zach leaves with bragging rights. He out muscled and broke Dick in round one.... and even had Little Richard pissing himself (literally). ROFLMAO

Posted by: Ken at September 14, 2007 03:34 PM

Since no one seems to care about watching DD on the feeds or Showtime why not give us the jury house for the next few days...I probably would watch some of that...watched about 10 min on Showtime2 last night and that was all I could stomach...AGAIN, GREAT JOB HD!!!

Posted by: SuzieQ at September 14, 2007 03:44 PM

AMEN!!
Don't have too much to add to what most everyone has already said about D&D. Disappointed to the core in the season but that will not turn me off to BB. I will tune in next summer and I will watch the feeds. I agree that it is a totally different ballgame watching the feeds in conjunction with the tv show. I, like many others, want the food comps back on the feeds.
Have not watched the feeds since last nights show because I do not care to listen to Dick and Danielle continue to bash everyone else. I was disappointed in Danielle's goodbye to Zac. I don't know what he said to "hurt her feelings" but it can't compare to what her father said to other houseguests.
I honestly wish Dick had played a different game. He had such a great opportunity to dispell the view most of society has of men that "look" like Dick. He could have shown a kinder, gentler side but he chose to show such a vulgar attitude that I'm sure many folks will see men who look like Dick with his tatoos and remember Dick and assume they are like him.
Disappointed is the kindest way I can describe how I feel about how this played out.
Having said that, I am not at all disappointed with your site. It's a pleasure to visit here and read what folks write and be able to have open discussions about differing views. Certainly a difference from the CBS message boards. Wow, those are brutal.
THANKS and applause applause (standing ovation style) to you HD for all your work!!
Looking forward to hearing about your blogging on other reality shows.
Yippppeeee..........Survivor here we come!!!

I can't believe any of you think it doesn't matter which Donato wins. On After Dark, last night, every time Dick opened his mouth Dani told him to "shut up". She is pissed she wasn't the one who won all the final competitions. I heard her say to her Dad several times, "Stop taking away from ME-E-E-E!" If Dick wins he will definitely share the money with both his kids. If Daniele wins Dick may get a little money, but Vincent will get zip. She is a selfish, spoiled little whiner, "and that's that"!

Posted by: Artizen Studio at September 14, 2007 04:08 PM

I am not voting.

But if I was I guess it would be for Dick just because He actually fought this game for his daughter because he wanted to win her love back. As nasty as his actions were- his motives were sincere. And if he doesn't win then I have a feeling he won't be getting nearly as much money as he thinks he is going to get. Dani played this game as a manipulative, spitefull, greedy bitch. Which is how she will take the money too. Adios daddy! And as far as her and Nick- she's an idiot if she thinks she has a future with him as anything other than "adoring" friends cause that boy is gaygaygay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Posted by: AKgirl at September 14, 2007 04:33 PM

Hi HD..this is my last post to you this BB season. I wanted to weigh in on your thoughts about not voting. I love you to peices and love your site for years as I've often said, but we gently disagree on some things and agree on others. My feeling about the vote is that if you don't vote then as in any other election that you don't vote in, you shoudn't have a say or an opinion on the outcome.

Now before you bite my head off (j/k I know you woudln't) orrr WOULD youu??? lmao sorry-digressed a sec.

I agree with 90% of everything you've said this season EVEN THOUGH I have pulled for Dani and Dick. How is that possible you say? Well..I too am a BB purist and had a meltdown last year along with everyone else. I wanted to strangle the producers more than Boogie and Erica and that was a toss up. Well, this year as well.

This year after a week or two of mulling over the hamsters in the house and coming to the conclusion that this year had been bungled worse than last year. I never liked the concept of AP from the start. I felt like they were screwing around with votes that should be left to the hamsters in the house no matter what we thought of the outcome. But, nevertheless, it was BB , so we needed to vote. Of course our input affected the outcome of who won. That pleases the D&D lovers and not the haters.

Casting this year seemed to be leftover applicants from seasons past. There were reasons why these people got passed over and we saw it first hand.
This being said I wanted Dani and Dick to win simply because there were not enough people with backbone to stand up to them. Once I made that commitment I stuck with it to the end. I hated every vile thing Dick has done as much as anyone else. I cannot stand Dani's whining any more than anyone else. But this season, it seemed to me, if you were going to stay on the feeds and watch, the most reasonable thing to do was to root for the strongest players. I did.

I feel like I, too am a purist HD..I love BB and I have hopes that next year, the show will be better, the feeds will be better, the houseguests for damn sure will be better, but one thing's for sure...I will be right back here eagerly waiting to see right along with you, HD. :)

From HD - Awww Jan!

Posted by: Jan at September 14, 2007 04:36 PM

I can't say that I am a fan of Dick and Dani but, I'm glad that they made it to the finals. I wanted them to stay in the house long enough to heal their relationship. This could have been a diaster for the BB producers because this involved a real relationship and not just people who didn't like each other. Who cares whether Joe and Dustin get back together or if Carol and Jessica resolve a silly high-school feud? The relationship between Dick and Dani could have become more strained during the time they spent in the house or it could have healed. It seemed to have done the later. For this I am happy.

I felt for Dani because her was the chance of her young life and now she has to spend it with her old-fart of a father whom she is estranged.

We saw in the beginning Dick trying desperately to win Dani back, but she put him off. He would throw himself "under the bus" for her. That's what we parents do for our kids. I've done it many times myself and I know there are many parents out there that have done the same. If Dick won the $500,000, I have no doubt that he would share it with both his kids. Dani may or may not. That's just what happens, kids take money from parents, but parents should ask for money from their kids (just ask Judge Judy).

Dani has been described as a self-centered, whining, spoiled brat, but what person of that age isn't. I have 20-something kids of whom I know many of their friends and...well.. that how I would described many of them. It is the generation of immediate gratification. Where'd they get that from?!

I absolutely deplored Dick's treatment of Jen. In future BB's I hope they would not let another person be verbally abused like that.

Many of the Hamsters must have forgotten that the cameras were rolling because of the many racial remarks. Amber didn't only out herself, but she outed her mother and sister. I wonder how they have faired?

Finally, Jameka...many have taken the opportunity to use Jameka as a symbol for what is wrong with Christianity. I believe Jameka is true to her faith; however, as the saying goes: if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. Christianity is not about a religion but a relationship with God. God knows who you are and knows that you are not perfect. Any person calling themselves a Christian and acting sel-righteous is not being a real Christian.

Boy! That was long and far too serious. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! BB no stupid twist next year. Fourteen strangers...PLLEEEAAASE! And make sure that you psychologically analyze them thoroughly before they enter the house!

From HD - Don't forget that Amber outed her boss too! LOL

Posted by: Jenny at September 14, 2007 05:00 PM

Being a Dick and Danille FAN I really do appreciate your being kind to us, the D&D fans :)
It WAS Great to have my Favorites win !. I do agree with you on the crazy twists. this one however did bring some nice moments between the two that were very nice to see and Hear , so, just for this reason, I DO see them doing this Again definately. How could they not ? Good tv, Father, Daughter, emotional turmoil and the "I love you's" equals $$$$$ and that is the bottom line. This is BB's fault. Not the Donato's. They were along for the ride not the Driver. But I do agree I like the Normal BB too as you do. But, again, CONGRATS Dick and Danille !!

Posted by: Kells at September 14, 2007 05:47 PM

WOW... LOVED YOUR POST!!! I LOVE the idea of going back to PB&J and having ALL strangers in the house. I LOVE this season of BB8 and would buy it on DVD tomorrow, but I would LOVE to see BB pick house guests that don't know one another.

As for D&D... I voted faithfully when at all possible so I really enjoyed the "America's Player". The people that voted really had a big part in BB so I am thankful I got to play BB even if it was just a little!

See you next year for BB9!!!

Jennifer :)

Posted by: Jennifer at September 14, 2007 05:47 PM

Amen - A tad late today, but your message today really nailed it on the head as far as I am concerned. Leave the twists out, they just screw and skew things up. The slop has to go.

The AP has to go for a few reasons -- things change so much from day to day in there that by the time the next show happens for nomination or eviction -- the playing field is no longer the same. CBS also skews what they choose to air. And lastly on that subject - I may not have cared that much about Eric, but I do feel badly for him because he really didn't get to play his game. His hands were and are tied. When I heard that not only was his not going to be able to vote on the finalist, but he is to sway the others to vote too. He finally gets to be on the show, but never got to experience the show like he should have. Yes, he got rewarded for accomplishing tasks, but... it is just not right.

BB8 had chances to level the playing field by treating all houseguests to the same rules, but choose to favor some and not others. Hopefully next year will recognize the people that watch are pretty savvy, so stop already.

Having 14 people who truly do not know each other play the game is much more interesting. Clean up the game again and yes, that means lieing backstabbing, etc, but get rid of the abusive behaviors. Bring back a true Big Brother.

As for the vote - wasn't gonna do it. Will not support CBS and BB8 by casting a vote, and in addition -- the way I figure it if I were to vote for Dick - he would give the money to Dani. If I were to vote for Dani - she would keep it all, so what is the difference? The money will put a bigger wall between them -- it is just a matter of when that happens.

As I have said before HD you have made this so much more fun this year. And all your bloggers have added so much. This has been a safe place to vent and cheer to all who know how to "play nice with others." So thank you!!

Looking forward to the upcoming update on other reality shows and enjoying them with you and all your online pals.

PS ...Do you sleep? :)

From HD - I sleep only occasionally. LMAO

Posted by: Sharon at September 14, 2007 05:55 PM

HD, I know in their contracts the HGs sign something saying they cannot split any winnings. How do you think that would apply to a father gifting money to his daughter?

I am guessing the when they do their speeches to the jury, that Dick is going to basically tell them not to vote for him and to vote for Daniele. Even if he doesnt say it, he is going to communicate it to them somehow.

Dick honestly wanted to be here until the end bc it meant more time with Daniele, and more time spent bonding, even if it were just over the game, it was still way more interaction and common ground then he has probably ever had with her.

His goal was not really to win.
His goal was to stick around and play the game WITH DANIELE.

And by losing too early (before jury house) meant that he and Daniele would have gone back to their separated lives.
Even if they were both in the jury house, in his heart of hearts, Dick knew that once there was no longer the game to strategize over, and once Daniele didn't need to lean on Dick to advance her in the game, she would likely have given him the cold shoulder (again).

Dick has never implied he wants the money.
Even on Showtime After Dark never once has he talked about the money.
Even recently Zach asked the remaining HGs what they would do with the money and Dick immediately said he would send his son and Daniele back to college.

Daniele on the other hand, WANTS the money BAD. Her relationship with her Dad was only the means to an end.
She used him strategically when she needed to.
When she had no one else after Nick left, she knew her Dad would lay down and die and do ANYTHING for her, so she used that and got where she is today.

After this game, Daniele will go back to her life, with maybe a bit more contact with him then before the game, but you can tell she's not looking for a close relationship.
She has thrown comments around (to Julie and others) saying things like "well you cant erase what happened before this house, but its a start.." type of stuff.

Her "Dad, I love you" seemed strategic.
Dick was literally breaking and she needed him to win that competition so she said whatever she thought he needed to hear to revive his strength.

I dont like either, but I prefer Dick to Daniele bc in the real world, I do think he is at least more geniune of a person. With him, what you see is what you get, you may not like it, but its honest.

Having said all of this, HD, do you have any comments on whether or not Dick is allowed to Gift Daniele any decent amount of money or decent sized gifts?

(not that he is going to win at all, but just wondering?)

Posted by: Tamara at September 14, 2007 06:37 PM

Great comments everyone. There are always 2 sides to every story and this season's sides were strongly polarized. Too bad some of the HG's felt they had to go to such extremes to play the game. My hope is the same as yours for next season with no production interference in the game, no twists, clean play by the HG's, punishment by the rules, NO slop, and great competitions that don't breakdown and can't be tampered with (thank goodness they learned to not even try using buzzers!)

I'm not voting although I would like to see Dick win the money. He played the game, did fight and play hard for his daughter much harder than he would have if just playing for himself. I don't want to have Dani win the money and keep it all for herself when Dick would split with her and of course her not appreciate his sacrifice so I'll stay out of it.

I'm not watching any more feeds, but just read a transcript of some D&D conversation this afternoon and they're fighting again - or I guess I should say Daniele is acting up, pouting, being curt with her answers to Dick, and simply being rude and snotty to Dick who is just trying to be friendly and make conversation. I hope he doesn't push too hard and alienate her more than she's exhibiting already. She said 'I'm so done with all this' and I think she means she's so done with Dick. She said she doesn't want to do exit interviews with Dick and I'll bet once she's turned loose she's going to run from any contact with Dick for as long as she can. She owes him so much - actually she owes him for their win and to suddenly exclude him would be absolutely one of the most hurtful things she could do to him at this point, but what else should I expect from her - huh? I guess I should stop looking for just the good in everyone and save myself a lot of time! ( Yes, I'm a sucker for rebuilding relationships. I hope she seizes on the gains they've made and builds from here.

Best of luck to both of them. 'They' are BB8 winners and no matter how anyone may try to separate them the truth is that it was a team win and neither one would be where they are today without the other. For once Dick was right in his rants when he said they did what no other team did in BB history. They were a team and one I know no one will forget.

Thanks again HD for your hard work, long hours, patience, and great insight.

HD...I couldn't have said it better! We have been loyal BB fans since it's inception, and although we look forward to the big twist, this season was by far the worst. I must say I liked Daniele the first few weeks, but then I started watching Showtime After Dark and really saw a side of her I did not like. I saw a mean-spirited, spoiled, whiny brat. I watched some of last night's After Dark and D/D are already bickering. She said he was being rude. As soon as they get their checks, they will be right back at square one...that is truly sad. Thanks for a great season...you're the best ;)

There are so many interpretations of what a pure BB game would be. Sounds like for some of you, the pure game is to place the hamsters in the cage and let them claw their way out, untouched by any or many outside forces. But to me it is not just about hamsters in a cage. To me, it's about "Big Brother" watching. It's about "Big Brother" being able to pull the carpet out from beneath the hamsters at any point. Pure Big Brother should be "expect the unexpected." I want to see the game mixed up, with twists and turns. I want to see our hands in the cage, picking up the hamsters, rocking their world, and then putting them back in the cage. I want to see one week an automatic elimination that begins and concludes within 5 minutes, and the next week i want to see an elimination that's not really an elimination but just one that messes with the heads of the hamsters. I want to see a viewer vote elimination one week. I want to see once or twice the person who comes in last place in a physical competition get automatically ejected. I want to see prizes awarded to hamsters by the other hamsters. I want to see non-stop fun and angst and competitiveness and I want to see their heads spinning in forward motion, and not people sitting, moping, plotting, and thinking they have the game all wrapped up. And I think producer interference with all this can be controlled. I watched some of Big Brother UK online this year and they really mixed things up and it was a major blast to watch.

Amen--- Just wanted to thank you for another year of great bbblogging. And to say sorry again for my 3yr old playing on your site. And to Ladydoberman--if you want "morals" on tv then directtv has lots of that "religious" stuff on tons of channels. BTW Kaysar seems to be a sweet individual while the fireman came off as a jerk who just knew that he was correct about everything and if you didn't agree with him then f-off. So I dont believe that was CBS it was just his off putting personality.--Thank you again HD and maybe with you blogging it- I will be watching Survivor again.

I agree with you totally 100%! Never liked D/D at all. You could see the strings being pulled in their favor all season long. The editing just killed me. I would tell my dad about how Dick was acting and, low and behold, on the show you wouldn't even see a fifth of how he acted! Dani is definitely like her father. All they do is talk trash. I'm thinking of taking bets on long it will be before they're not talking again. I give it three months! (HA)
Like you, I'm not voting. It's just a waste of my time since I don't care who wins. Can't wait to see the AP reveal and the jury talking their smack during questioning and the vote.
You rule HD! Thanks for all the hard work. Here's to BB9, may it be better than the crap we had out of BB8!

anyone know why dani was alowed to be in the big brother house when you are not eligable until 21 years old.

I am not voting either. I might not even bother watching next year. The feeds are so boring, just more Daniele whining and Dick and her trash talking the others. They won no one is there and they still trash talk them. No class.

Posted by: Jaguarempress at September 14, 2007 07:55 PM

I'm a Dick fan and I've only been happy with a BB winner when Will and Eddie won their seasons. That's been a long time to wait for a favorite to win again! I soooo hope he wins the top prize over his spoiled daughter. I also hope there are no more acquaintances in the BB house, I want to see a houseful of strangers once again. I did like the America's Player twist this year, would love to see an actor used some season who will be playing a role and voting the way America wants. Also, I hope there are less people under the age of 25. I would like to see more people with life experience (such as Dick)and for God's sake, no more showmances. Blech!

Posted by: Jeremy at September 14, 2007 07:57 PM

For CBS so loved their viewers, that they gave thier only big-rotten Dick, that who shall ever believe in him SHALL parish with him and his money and forever be forsaken with his cough and phlem...Amen!

Sorry, whiny, needed a good spanking when she was younger... Dani is the better of the two!

Posted by: mamma b at September 14, 2007 09:19 PM

This was my first season reading your site. I love it! I have been watching BB live feeds since BB1 when we were able to watch everything including all the challenges. Boy has it changed!
I am really upset that Dick and Danielle have gone to the end and don't understand D/D fans. I know it must make "good television" the way Dick has acted but seriously, these are still human beings and no one should be treated that way, "game" or not. Watching Dick and Danielle only made me feel very sorry for them. I also felt sorry for the hgs for having to be on a season of Evel Dick. I have seriously wondered if I will ever watch BB again next season. Watching Dick's hatefulness gave me a sick stomach. It did not make me feel good watching.
As to who should win? Dick, hands down. He won two of the three HOH games to get them to the end and he should be rewarded, not Danielle. Just my opinion though. Thanks for all the great work you did this season HD!

Hitler messed with people's minds, torturers do the same tactic. The thing of it is, if you do it unto others then you must accept it when it is done unto you. "It's unfair" isn't accepting. Anger management gone wild, isn't accepting.

Dani confided to someone earlier in the show that she was, in fact, only 19, that would have made her 20 on the birthday in BB8. It's (oh my great goodness am I really going to say this...) on the tapes.

"The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." Most of these houseguests just want to change their lifestyle and party on down. You will not find a budding star of humanity ever even entering the BB house of contention. You will, however, find many of the good guys gathered in the hamsterpatch with HD watching the crazies.

HD I don't know who the split personality is who seems overly fond of correcting people's intellect but...you are, in handling the situation, grace under pressure.

I tried to think of one thing that I liked about the two winners, yeah, it's two.

Dick, the fondness in his eyes when he looked at his unappreciative daughter and the way that he smiled, then. (Laugh lines at the eyes and all).

Dani, (false or not) the way that she hugged her father, finally, after some POV and HOH wins and how happy it made this previously neglectful father who so wanted her acceptance and love. He will never get the first, as she holds onto the negative past too much and other peoples faults, not her own. I don't know to what extent she loves him...I think that she will be happiest being far away from him and jealous of any popularity that he is shown over her. Originally, I had wanted these two to win. I don't like changing horses in the middle of the stream but when a Dick shows his arse and the selfish whining of a young chick is screeching like fingernails down a chalkboard well, I'm grabbing anything galloping by!

Therefore, if I voted I would vote for Dick. Dani doesn't want him to win over her and that's enough incentive to do it. If I were voting.

I was also glad (as someone previously stated) that Eric did not win. Jessica's leaving was just icing on the cake. I'm sorry but showmance usually means too much time spent on not watching what's going on. BUT at least they would not have been as boring when they unwound and played their games and joked. The feeds are awful now, I have them turned off. I will watch the final shows, I mean I came all this way.

HD thank you for being like a pair of angel wings encircling us when the crazies got to be too much and "taking it personal" had folks gritting their teeth until they entered this place where they could finally voice their opinions. We needed that.

HD what can I say ... You are the only blog I even have looked at for the last 3 seasons. You are so accurate I don't even feel the need to go anywhere else. We just never seem to agree on our favorites...lol

I hate it when bb is over I usually feel an empty space... I know sounds weird but hey I don't like football so this is my fav sport !!
My fav season was season 6 I loved the was the house was divided between good and evil ...lol

I agree with most of you when you say Dick was just brutal alot of the time... BUT It got him to final 2 !! I don't agree at all with the way He treated Zach or Jen ... But Jen's first comment to him in the house was ewww I don't like people that smoke near me. I would not have liked her after that eighther ...She was rude alot of the time she just didn't yell it out. In my opinion I would rather someone told me how they felt in my face and not behind my back. I loved the way Zach went to check on him it showed what a good guy He really is ... His family should be very proud of him !! He deserved that win all the way !! How could how Dick acted be worse than what the booger did to Erica last year ? He used and abused her !! I say beware of the quiet ones they can do far more damage than the loud ones that let you know they are coming...

Anywho I've already told you HD It's the first time since I've watched the show that I got the outcome that I wanted. I could not be happier I had a smile all day at work today !!
Thank you so much for always being so fair to all of us ... Can't wait to meet up with you in your other blogs..lol
love ya girl ...peace out

P.S. I'm voting for Dick to win because he will share

Got a question...why are so many people saying they are NOT going to vote, then expressing an opinion about who should win? Kinda takes away all your "bitching rights" at the end, doesn't it? Reminds me of politics....

As a purist, and I am one, I could never vote for any player who arranged to receive outside information in order to further themselves in an ongoing game.

Just could not bring myself to vote for either one of the Donatos. :|

At the very least, I second your Amen! I really liked BB 1 and 2, since they were the closest to 'reality' of all of the BBs I've seen, imo. Everyone since has had too much opportunity to plan what they'd do because the producers have seen fit to make it so predictable. Nothing "real" about that. :( I hope they go back to their roots, but I'm not gonna hold my breath...

Well HD, I agree with your Friday comments. So I was glad to find your blog, I'll bookmark it. If I just agreed with your feelings about this seasons HGs, I wouldn't be so thrilled. But I agree totally with what you'd like to see in BB9, I've thought many of those things myself. The PB&J is so much better than slop, these people cannot handle slop. In fact, I don't think there should be comps where HGs have to eat or drink gross things. That is one Reality TV gimmick that I dislike. It's bad enough they have to put up with each other without depriving them of proper, palatable nutrition. Even in Survivor they get to eat rice, which is much better than slop. Blechh. In fact, seeing your blog, slop must actually be hamster food.

So on to Dick and Daniele. I wanted Zach to finish Dick off in the final HOH comp. Dick is disgusting, mean, sick, and abusive, to name just a few of his awful traits. Daniele is his little Mini-Me. America's Player needs to go next season if this is the kind of result it produces. Well, it needs to go period. The HGs no longer have control of the game, and "America" doesn't care enough to have the privilege of determining the winner. Ha ha, it was a good joke on the HGs this season, it will be interesting to see their reactions to it, now I'm over it. The element of surprise would be gone for BB9 HG's, so I doubt they'd use it next year anyway. Thank God.

From here on out CBS, (like they care) lets see more diversity in ethnicity and lifestyle please. One black person and a couple of gay guys is getting old. Lets see a few HGs that don't value makeup, tan lines, and designer clothing above all else, who have more complex character than these clones. And have you checked to see if applicants actually have "balls"? No, the females don't need balls anatomically, but they should have them in their personality. None of these people could deal with a bully, and it was no contest. Boooorinngggg! Apparently age and muscles have no value, or Kail, Mike, and Nick would have done better.

AND MY MAIN GRIPE TO BIG BROTHER: Please make the 3rd competition in the final HOH a real test, not just LUCK! My God, they go thru all that in the 1st 2 comps, then they have 6 stupid guessing questions to determine all the marbles??? No integrity to the game at that point. There should be at least 10 questions in 3 different categories, totalling about 30 questions. I mean this was not a valid test by any stretch of the imagination. I will not be voting for the final 2 either, and I stopped watching STAD and live feed 2 days ago. I will be thrilled when there is no more Dick to watch. I did however enjoy watching him suffer for 8 straight hours the other night, he deserved it. Thank you for the chance to vent.

First of all - I'll say that I am disgusted by both Ds and expect them to share the approximate $350K net prize after taxes.

I don't expect this scenario to happen but it would make my day to hear that it went down this way:

Danielle wins...Turns to her dad...tell him he is not getting any of her money and that she played him from the beginning...and then said , "Game Really over Motherfucker!"

Posted by: RB at September 15, 2007 08:35 AM

In Ontario, Canada, where I am from, there are rules about smoking in public places. The house can be considered a public place (as opposed to a private home). So it would be non-smoking. I wonder how Dick would have fared in that environment?

As for which of the two Donatos I want to see win? Neither, but if you force me to choose, Danielle. Sure Dick screwed with the hamsters minds, but Danielle competed to save her own a$$ and her win record speaks loudly for her.

To those few who have questioned why some of us are choosing not to vote and therefore we have no voice or like politics. I beg to differ. My choice not to vote is based on a few things, most importantly - this is a game. As such, the outcome does not effect my country, my fellow country men and women, family, friends, or myself. I vote on every election that effects this country, be it primary or otherwise.

That said, I chose not to vote because I do not support the things that were allowed to go on this year. Therefore, my choice not to vote was a vote of nonsupport for the outcome this year for BB8 and CBS. And I suspect I am not alone. While at the same time, I have no problem with others wanting to vote on the outcome of this game.

Phew... got kind of serious there for a moment. Oops. :)

Why does BB deem it necessary to keep the final two in that silly house for five whole days alone before the final? Stupid planning - ridicuous. I have no desire to watch a recap - I've had enough of the showcasing of over the top verbal abuse. It is NOT good TV, people. Why have we become so addicted to angry confrontation?

Posted by: Lynn at September 15, 2007 10:28 AM

If CBS wants to involve the audience I have a suggestion...on the FIRST show announce that the viewing public will have a vote SOME weeks in the house(in ADDITION to the HG's votes)..to stop any collusion on the part of CBS, the weeks that viewers can vote would be announced to VIEWERS ONLY (so that CBS could not pick and choose a week later in the game)..in addition the HGs would know that the viewers would have a vote but would not know in which weeks this would happen. This might give them some thought as to how their actions in the house could either help or hurt them.. Any takes on this suggestion??

I completely agree with you about next season not having any twists. Let's go back to what the game was: strangers trying to interact with one another.

The biggest problem this season was America's Player. We controlled the game because we controlled Eric. It might have been different if Eric was an outsider like Zach but he was part of the main alliance who was in control of the game and that meant we had a HUGE impact on the game. I don't want to see that next season. I echo your sentiments for returning to a purist BB season.

However, I am glad that with the cast they assembled this year, they did include America's Player. If Dick and Daniele had been sent home earlier, it would have been a very boring end to the season. We may have been disgusted by D&Ds behaviour but it definitely gave us a reason to tune in.

Think about if the LNCNH had remained in the house and how boring it would have been to watch them. Without an "enemy" or "bad guy", there is no entertainment. It would have been filled with Amber and Jameka patting each other on the back for being "good" people and Dustin running around with that stupid cape on. Oh and tons more of Eric trying to cop a feel while Jessica lays there thinking of England.

Plus we never would have had the LNC flip on D&D and evict Kail instead of Eric or how about when Dustin got blindsided. Those were great "OMG!" moments that we all loved. Without the AP, we never would have had those awesome moments.

Next year BB needs to cast more interesting people and not so many boring snoozers like Zach, Mike, Jameka, Kail and Carol. If it hadn't been for Amber's delusion and instability and Jen being so self-absorbed yet robotic, I would include them in that list as well. With a better cast, they won't need to throw in stupid twists.

So sad, too bad, YUCK.

If the baby wins, she will have a tax burdon to only the government. If Daddy wins, his burdon is only to the government, but should he share the money, the baby will also have a tax burdon to government. Dick can gift one time up to $100,000, and anything over that, is another tax burdon. Government wins, more tax money if Dick shares.

I also question the age problem. BB allowed rules to be broke, and if they both were finalist in BB6, Baby D was 18 or 19 at that time, and the application for BB stats very clearly, you must be 21 years of age at time of Application. Will be interesting, when the next under age applies, how they will be able to send them away. Anyone underage, will certainly have lots of ammo for a future altercation with BB.

Thank you for a wonderful sight, and actually painted a wall and watched paint dry last night during Showtoo, both boring to watch.

Thank you again,

i cant wait to see dick and dani face when they learn about eric and that it wasn't them who made it to the final 2 it was america's player who helped then. and i do belive that dick should of been taken out of the game for cheatin with the letter from his son and dani being 20 when she was suppose to be 21 to play the game yes i belive cbs played us all with D-D and letting them get away with crap worse bb game ever was bb8 its time we stand up and say no more cbs we want a fair game in the house and rules that need to be stand by as well. Disapointed in bb8 and did i vote nope will it help? nope will it make things right with us veiwer's? nope do the right thing cbs.

I am not watching the last 2 shows. I am soo disgusted at this BB season. I have been watching the whole 8 yrs, with my son, and it has become our bonding experience. Thank god he has been away and unable to watch (he is 20, so it's not like i need to keep all the cursing, violence, cheating, abusing, and farting away from him). I am just glad that he did not get to see this, I think he would have become as disillusioned with this show as I am.
I can only hope that people are fired, that d/d lose everything right away and end up on the front page of the national enquirer.
I can only hope that all the petitions, the boycotting,of both cbs and their sponsors, and the general dissastisfaction of the message boards make cbs change their over-controlling tactics.
Draw a line in the sand, do not trust the Donatos, and do not watch tonite..........sign the petition...
