Eric & America's Player

I wonder how Eric's feeling today.

Eric was such a fan of Big Brother and had been wanting to be a hamster in that house for a long time. He finally gets accepted by Big Brother and is really excited to be living in that house. Then Big Brother tells him that he isn't there to play for himself. They tell him that he has to play for America or he can't play at all. That had to have been a shocker to him when they told him that. I know it would have been for me if I'd been in his spot.

He accepts the challenge (and the chance at extra cash) and enters the house with thirteen people that he doesn't know. He can't vote to evict the way he wants. He has to lobby to get somebody nominated that perhaps he wouldn't have chosen himself. He has to do these stupid (but sometimes funny) tasks to people that we pick for him.

I think Eric had advantages and disadvantages because of being America's Player. He was able to, at times, glean some information from what we told him to do. Overall though, I think being America's Player was less advantageous to him. Look at how many times we (and I include myself in that) misled him or gave him something practically impossible to do. Of course, we do still need to keep in mind that most of the people voting for AP were primarily television viewers and not hardcore addicts such as ourselves.

We will be casting his vote for who to win the whole shebang however. His game is done but ours is not. Depending on who the final two are, that could be interesting.

I wonder what you think about the entire America's Player 'thing'? Do you think a twist like this would ever be done by Big Brother again? If so, how do you think they would change it up? Do you think Eric was the right person chosen for America's Player? Why or why not? Who else in the house this season do you think might have been able to pull it off? And how do you think Eric is feeling today?

How about TWO AP's - both working against each other? That might be interesting...

Thanks for a great site!

It doesn't seem likely they would repeat the AP in the near future. Wouldn't everyone in the house suspect there is one? Well, I guess they'll suspect it anyway, even if there isn't one.

I'm hoping CBS comes up with a new plot. Personally I enjoyed the "pranks" for the AP more than the voting out, etc. I thought there would be many more silly antics than there were. Overall, I think from all the houseguest Eric was probably the best to pick since he knew the game so well. Might have been interesting if Jameka had been picked, then she would have HAD to play. Or what about our dear crying Amber, I don't think she could have kept it secret.

What if Dick had been AP.....oh my, that might have proven to be interesting.

What Eric is doing now.......I think him and Jess are cuddling. "S"

I really felt sorry for Eric. He's been wanting to do this for a long time, and he finally gets his chance, but in order to do it, he has to give up the juicy parts of the game. I would have been pretty upset.

Eric was by far the best choice I could'nt have picked a better player myself:-)

Poor Eric. He was in the game without Jessica a whole 20 minutes! I think he did the best he could with what we gave him to work with. I think BB expected the whole AP to be bigger than what it turned out to be. I would expect to see something like this again with more viewer input. Just not sure how soon.
