Congratulations Maggie!
My congratulations go out to Maggie - the winner of Big Brother 6. She won 4-3 over Ivette.
I was torn between Ivette and Maggie and kept going back and forth between them. I sure am glad I didn't have to vote! LOL
Tonight's show was great. I loved how some of them were called out on some of the things they did or said. Howie was called out on bashing April, Kaysar was asked about Jen putting him up for eviction, April was called out on calling America shit. BTW, Howie apologized and April accepted, Kaysar told Jen she needed to make her own decisions (and she agreed), and April apologized to America.
I loved watching the jury members ask their questions of Ivette and Maggie. I loved watching them discuss what they thought about Maggie and Ivette and how they played the game. Tonight's show was really really great. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Janelle had won! But ah well. LOL
I still can't stand the Nerd Herd though. Nothing will ever make me even tolerate them. Jennifer I can't stand the most! Ick!
Well folks, I've really enjoyed doing Silly Hamsters this year. I might make a couple more posts referencing hamster interviews or something of that sort but it might be awhile depending on how well Rita treats us here in the Houston area. You see, I live pretty darned close to the water and will probably be evacuating in the next day or two and I have no idea what I'll come back to, if anything. So if you don't mind saying a prayer for me occasionally or just hope things are well with me and my family for the next week I'd greatly appreciate it.
I have enjoyed all of your comments (even when I didn't agree with them...LOL) and y'all's enthusiasm for the game kept me going a couple of times when I didn't think I could keep going. So for all of that, I thank all of you! Y'all are wonderful and great and smart and witty and I can't wait to meet y'all back here next year.
Same time. Same place.
Take care of yourselves out there.

The End Is Near
Well folks, time's almost up.
What a rollercoaster ride this season of Big Brother has been. There were some amazing highs and some crazy ass lows. The Eric/Michael 'altercation', Janelle winning HOH her first time, watching April deny she was part of a team with Jennifer, the Snack Shack food comp, the shrines in the HOH room, the feed blackouts.
What are some of your favorite moments? Worst moments? Any moments? LOL
I'm not too interested in the finale show tomorrow evening. I'll only be watching to see the jurors questioning Maggie and Ivette and to see everybody that wasn't part of the Nerd Herd. I don't really care who wins because I personally can't stand Maggie or Ivette.
Ah well. At least Survivor's on and Lost and The Amazing Race is about to start up. :)

The Final Two
Who will it be? Who? Who? Who?
It won't be me and it won't be you.
Who do we boo and who do we coo?
Oh who will be the final two?
Maggie and Janelle?
Ivette and Maggie?
Janelle and Ivette?
Tell me now. Y'll need to be true.
What do you think Mary Sue?
And Russ and Ginny and ZooKeeper too.
Oh who will be the final two?
Update at 6:03 PM - Ivette won the final HOH and she evicted Janelle. The final two are Ivette and Maggie. I think Janelle will be voting for Ivette and that combined with James definitely choosing Ivette will make Ivette the Big Brother 6 winner. What do you all think?
I still love you Janie! I want a Janie doll!

Behind the Scenes Update
Sources tell SillyHamsters that they are setting up the set for the final HOH competition, the remaining HG's are sequestered, and the game is being built. Fish should be off soon.
UPDATE: Live feeds are back. :)

And The Real Fun Begins Part II
Ivette won the first part of this season's final HOH comp last night. Janelle was the first off and Maggie was off about 40 minutes later.
We've been on fish for the last couple of hours while I assume they had the second part of the HOH competition. Whoa, the fish just went away and I see hamsters now!
They're sitting down at the table (and a much smaller table at that) munching on something (looks like nachos). Can't tell who won the second part yet. It's hard to get a read on what the outcome was.
Will update here as soon as I find out who won it.
Update at 4:30 - I wonder if they even know who won today. Maybe BB is making it a surprise to them as well. OMG, I'm on pins and needles not knowing who won today! LOL
Update at 4:52 - It appears that Janelle won the second part of the HOH competition!!! Woohooo!!!
OK folks now think. It will be (it seems) Janelle vs. Ivette competing in the third and final round for the final HOH. If Ivette wins who should she take with her? If Janelle wins who should she take with her?

And The Real Fun Begins
Well it should be no surprise that April was evicted tonight. I mean come on. Even though some of us wanted Ivette to vote Maggie out, the chance of that happening was a long shot.
I loved seeing the sequester house tonight. Poor little Jennifer. She still can't get over the fact that the game is over.
Now the feeds are back on and the first part of the final HOH competition is underway. The winner of tonight's part also gets the combination to the final gold safe that has yet to be opened.
They're standing on a giant combination lock basically and each of the ladies are standing on their third of the lock. They have to reach out and hold a key (with one or two hands as of show time) and stay holding on to it. If one of them lets go of the key or steps off the platform (which is now spinning as it would do if you were entering a combination) they are out of the running for this round.
I wonder how long they will last while walking along the edge and holding on to their key? None of them are talking to each other right now. All three of them are very focused on what they're doing.
Good luck ladies.
Update at 9:01 PM - A few minutes over two hours now. All three are still in it. Go Janie!
Update at 10:25 PM - Three and a half hours and they're all still in it. But Janie's not looking so well. Maggie and Ivette still look fairly strong. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be up. I have a very long day at work tomorrow. :(
Update on Wednesday at 4:00 AM - Janelle slipped and let go of her key less than five minutes after I had to go to sleep. (That figures! LOL) She made it 3 hours and 45 minutes. Maggie and Ivette were left to battle against each other. BB switched it up so that they could only hold the key with one hand while the platform was rotating but they could switch hands when the platform would stop. Maggie fell off at the 4 hour 20 minute mark. Ivette won the first part of the HOH competition and what is in the final safe. During a brief lockdown inside the house, Ivette opened the final safe yet to be opened and it said her prize was waiting in the backyard. And in the backyard, were a pair of Vespa scooters! Very cool. Her and her girlfriend Maggie will really enjoy them.
Congrats Ivette on winning Part 1.
Goooooo Jedi Janie and win Part 2!

A Week From Today
Well folks, the end is drawing near. We only have one more week of watching the hamsters on the feeds and only three more shows. From here on out, things will be happening fairly quickly.
Following is the schedule for the remaining Big Brother shows. Make sure to take note of the changes. The times shown are Eastern time.
Tonight, September 13th - 9:00
Thursday, September 15th - NO SHOW
Friday, September 16th - 8:00
Tuesday, September 20th - 9:00 FINALE
Many of you have asked me what's going to happen to Silly Hamsters after Big Brother is over. Silly Hamsters isn't going anywhere and the posts aren't going to disappear. But since SH is a Big Brother blog, there won't be as many posts. I'll post links up to hamster interviews as I come across them but that will primarily be for the week after the show ends. And then expect a long dry spell. LOL
Many of you have also asked about covering other reality shows such as Survivor. Since this is a Big Brother blog, that won't be happening here. However, if you're looking for a place to chat/discuss with others about Survivor and/or any other reality TV show I highly recommend one of the message boards/forums I have listed under my blogroll over to the right. If you haven't had a chance to check them out yet, please do. They're all vastly different from each other so find the one whose style suits you the most and sign up! Tell 'em Silly Hamsters sent ya. ;)
And on a final note this morning, I wanted to share with y'all part of a comment that was left last night by a commenter going by 'Zeni'.
Is it crazy that in order for me to keep myself from getting too depressed and going insane about losing everything in my home in New Orleans to hurricane Katrina, that I am talking about my husband about Big Brother all day and night long?
When we evacuated the day before the storm hit and were packing our things I kept staring back to my Big Brother 6 dvd with episodes 1-10 on it that I had made for myself. I said naw I don't need it, I will be back in two days. It will be safe.
Well needless to say we never made it back home and my darn dvd is still there!
My family looks at me as if I have already lost my mind since my husband and [our] businesses were also ruined along with all of our possessions.
When my entire immediate family and I talk about what we lost and what little we now have, although i am heartbroken about all that happenened. I still want that dvd!
At times like this you need to inject some humor into things otherwise your sorrow will swallow. So when I was in the shelter provided by the Red Cross in Alabama calling dozens of hospitals looking for my father, I was watching Big Brother.
And while we were trying to reach my mom, sister and 18 other family members on their cell phones to let them know the school they were holed in was soon to flood because it was not too far from the levee. I was watching bb.
I don't know what to call it but watching the show in the shelter gave me an option to forget about all of the turmoil going on around me. It for that one hour allowed me to not let my true feelings about the matters show, so that my young children wouldn't be affected by it.
So when I got access to a computer after checking all of my emails and writing everyone back, whom wished me well and gave their prayers I had to come here to catch up on all that happened and your thoughts for the past two weeks.
Thanks Zeni! Glad you and your family are safe and sound now. :)
I hope all of you out there have an absolutely freaking fab-u-lous day. Don't work too hard and don't forget about the show being on later than usual tonight.
HamsterDame out.
P.S. - Disregard the show being on at a later time tonight. Don't know what I was thinking. But President Bush will be speaking live the same time BB will be on in the Eastern and Central time zones. Not sure how much of the show we'll see.
P.P.S. - Scratch that. Now Pres Bush will be speaking Thursday night at 9:00 Eastern.

Update: Electrical Power Restored
Sources close to the show tell SillyHamsters that there was an electrical power interruption on the Big Brother lot today - and that affected live feeds for a short time. This was not a planned blackout related to the plot. Power was switched to back up, and should be fully restored soon.
UPDATE: It appears electrical power has been restored, and live feeds are operational.
UPDATE: Electricity Returning To Los Angeles; Outages Extended From San Fernando Valley To Downtown. According to power officials, workers at a receiving station connected wrong wires, causing surge of power that led to shutdowns at three power generating stations. DOH!

Monday Mania
Since today and tomorrow are going to be pretty slow days, I want some mania out of you guys to tide us over until tomorrow evening's live show.
I want some of your craziest ideas for the Big Brother show, for the Big Brother feeds, for living in the house, for the competitions, for the houseguests, whatever. As long as it's crazy.
I don't want anything boring out of y'all because y'all aren't boring people. Oh, and because the title of this post isn't Monday Boredom.
Fire away folks! Let the craziness commence!

Well Wonders Never Cease
Have you all been watching? Have you seen who has won the POV? It's kinda funny actually.
For those that don't know yet, Ivette won the POV. LOL
Ivette's been laying in bed deep in thought. April's been bitching with Maggie in the gym while they've been working out. It seems Ivette jumped up and down after winning it screaming that she's going to be in the final three. April didn't like it I guess and she's been crying about it. First to Maggie and now to Janelle up in the HOH room. Janelle's even saying to April that she thought Ivette's celebration was inappropriate.
Ivette is now guaranteed, along with Janelle, a spot in the final three. Obviously, she will use it on herself and April will go up on the block in her place.
Ivette now gets to decide who will be evicted on Tuesday's live show. Will Ivette vote to evict Maggie or April? What do you think Ivette's choice should be?
Well, time to post this and listen to more of April's yapping. Oooh, now Ivette's up and talking to Maggie in the gym. Gotsta go folks. Enjoy the feeds today and the show. ;)

Janelle is America's Sweetheart!
This evening's post title comes directly to you from Ivette's mouth. In between Ivette, April, and Maggie's bitching about Janelle winning America's Choice again, Ivette actually said that Janelle is America's sweetheart and they're all bitches and then proceeded to tell America to f**k off over and over and over again.. These women are so jealous of Janelle that they can't stand it. And I absolutely love it. It's about time they got it.
Nominations were held a couple a few hours ago. Janelle nominated Maggie and Ivette. And of course when the feeds come back on, it wasn't sixty seconds before Ivette was crying in her bed all by herself again. And then the 'Three Witches of Studio City' banded together to bash Janelle some more.
Janelle has already been whisked away by BB and is probably having a wonderful time right now. BB has provided alcohol for the evening. I can't wait to hear what she has to say about her experience and can't wait to see the Three Witches hang on her every word and pretend to be so nice to her. I can't wait to see April cry some more about all of this tonight.
Go Janie!

My Little Janie Doll
Unfortunately Howie was the one evicted tonight. I was so holding out hope that Ivette would see the light of day and I was actually finding myself feeling sorry for her and pulling for her after hearing her girlfriend Maggie and her mother speak.
I absolutely adore the fact that Maggie (Ivette's gf) likes Janelle. I absolutely adore the fact that Ivette's mom knows what Ivette should have done. Unfortunately, they couldn't channel their thoughts to Ivette well enough. Because Howie was evicted.
But how freaking great was it that Janelle won HOH tonight!
I swear the Richter scale had to have moved a little somewhere in North America tonight solely due to all of the Janelle fans (myself included) jumping up and down tonight after she won HOH. I hope my upstairs neighbor didn't mind my yelling. LOL
I officially have a girl crush on Janie. Awwwww.
Now I wonder who she will put up. I so hope it's Maggie and April.
Your thoughts on the show tonight or Janelle winning HOH? What do you think will happen? What do you want to happen?
Spill it guys.
P.S. - Everybody don't forget to vote for America's Choice tonight and early tomorrow morning! Voting ends at 9:00 AM Big Brother time so we need to get cracking. I'll be voting for Janelle just in case you're interested. You can text message your vote right now to 22788 (#1 for Ivette, #2 for Maggie, #3 for Janelle, or #4 for April) or wait until after 9:00 Big Brother time tonight to vote via internet on CBS' Big Brother site. Go Janie!
P.P.S. - CLICK HERE to vote for America's Choice! Remember, polls close tomorrow (Friday) at 9:00 AM Big Brother time. So go vote. Now!

Ch-Ch-Changes
How much have your views of the hamsters changed since the time they entered the house back in the beginning of July? Have any of your views changed drastically in either a good way or a bad way? Do you remember anything specifically that caused you to change how you view that person? Have I asked you enough questions in this post already?
One person that I have really changed my opinion on is Maggie. Originally, I thought she was playing a good game. She was fairly quiet and observant but would speak up when needed but not in a forceful way. I also admired her for being a nurse and looked forward to hearing some interesting stories about her line of work. What the hell was I thinking right?
As she stayed in the house longer she became, well how else can I put this, a snobbish bitch. Ironically, that's exactly what the FS think of Janelle. Imagine that. Maggie seems far too uncaring to be a nurse in any capacity. The things that Maggie (along with Eric) said about the lower income folks in their area are horrible. Just her personality in general is so unattractive that it's hard for me to imagine ever being interested in hearing a single word she might utter outside of the house.
So y'all, tell me how your views have changed regarding the hamsters. I would love to hear it.

Homo Hypocriticalis
Sorry I haven't felt like posting lately guys. Big Brother has just gotten 'blah' to me at this point.
I think Ivette winning HOH was what really did it to me. The only thing worse than that happening would have been if Maggie had won it. Now I know many of you are Friendship fans and y'all should be happy. Strike that. Y'all should be fucking ecstatic. One of them will win so I shall take this opportunity to congratulate all of the Friendship lovers.
Howie's gone this week. We'll have Janelle, April, Ivette, and Maggie left in that house. Four women. Wow. Way to go girls! But on the other hand, damn we're going to be listening to even more cattiness out of April, Ivette, and Maggie. I just can't wait for that. No really. I can't wait. The opportunity to listen to three of the most annoying and hypocritical women on the planet really excites me.
A new species of mankind could be created if April, Ivette, and Maggie and, oh, let's say Cappy were tossed on a deserted island together. What could we call that species? How about Homo Hypocriticalis? Could you imagine what they would look like and how they would act as a society? It chills me to the bone.
I really really hope Janelle wins this next HOH and the next one after that. Even though she won't have a chance in hell of winning Big Brother this year I would like to see her win the second place prize money. I really can't wait for this game to be over with because at this point I'm truly drooling over just thinking about how pissed off the Friendship (except for Cappy because he knows already) will be when they find out how much they were disliked by a majority of Big Brother fans.
I hope you all are enjoying your Labor Day today. I have BBQ brisket, baked beans, corn on the cob, and apple pie with maybe some vanilla ice cream on the menu. Sounds good doesn't it?

Aaaarrrrrggggggghhhhhh
I swear this show is going to give me a heart attack. With each show I imagine the pains shooting up my arm. Sometimes, like tonight, I actually almost feel them. LOL
Well the internet rumors were true and Beau was evicted. That made me happy. I thought he was a much bigger threat than Ivette.
And then, drumroll please, Ivette won HOH.
Ivette deserved to win it though. She tried her hardest and it showed. I don't know what the hell was going on with Janelle. She even missed a Howie/Rachel question. WTF? Janelle had the lowest score.
The final two for HOH were Ivette and Maggie. And Maggie gave it to Ivette. That was very very obvious.
Well now Ivette will get her Tushy pics and at least we won't have to hear her whine about not winning anything. But we will get treated to a heaping helping of her bashing Janelle.
Yay.
Oh, I almost forgot. Holly from BB5 was the annoying dealer/host of the POV contest. For a girl that isn't that bad looking, her voice is so damned irritating. I remembered tonight why I wanted her gone so bad last season.

Feed Update
Folks, FYI, there will be another feed blackout until after the show finishes airing on the west coast tomorrow evening.
Instead of having to watch the fish go round and round, there will be Big Brother House Calls in rotation while the feeds are blacked out.
I'd rather be watching the live feeds, too, trust me. But HouseCalls is better than fish. Plus, there's nothing I can do about a blackout. There's nothing that Real can do about it. This is coming from CBS.
Please do not send me any hate mail. Please do not post hateful and nasty comments about it. I will edit your comment or not post it at all if it's hateful. I know nothing more than what I'm posting here so please don't email me asking me for any further information. If I hear anything else at all, I will update this post.
Again, I'd rather be watching the live feeds too, and I do understand how you're feeling about this. But as I said earlier, I can't do anything about it.
Take care of yourselves my BB friends. Until later.
P.S. Please keep any comments on this post related to the feed blackout. If you would like to comment on the hamsters themselves or anything else going on in the house, please comment on one of the other posts below. Thanks everybody.
P.P.S. I have closed comments on this post because comments are not being kept to blackout-related only. If a comment of yours was not posted here, please post it on one of the appropriate previous posts. Thanks.

Howie Is The New HOH!
Well James was evicted tonight but we all pretty much knew that was going to happen so it wasn't a shock or anything.
And Howie won HOH! Wow! He beat Beau by one point.
This week is also another double eviction week and he had to immediately nominate two people for eviction. He nominated Beau and Ivette, the last pair remaining in the house.
The feeds came back on a few minutes ago and guess what. Ivette's laying in bed in the map room upset. Howie just went over and gave her a hug. That was sweet of Howie.
Well folks, at least there's no more backdooring people. Everybody will be competing for POV from here on out so if you want off the block you better win it.
Night folks. Catch ya tomorrow.
