I am in southern PA and we are getting rain from Katrina. I will pray for those closer to her destructive path. It's going to be a big one.

My prayers are with the people in the path of Katrina. I have lived through a hurricane here on the east coast and its no fun. Watching a tree crash through your ceiling and water pouring in. How scary the winds are..waiting for your house to blow away. All you can do is wait and it goes on for hours. Then you deal with days of no electric and can't drink the water and people panicing because they didn't bother to prepare.
People fighting over standing in line for ice and water. People breaking into stores stealing what they can. Stealing peoples generator because they don't have one or sneaking in a pouring sugar in the tanks to get even. We even had a man pull a gun on another in the street because he felt the guy was tailgating him. It's one of the worse things to live through. It shows you what is really valueable in life. YOUR FAMILY..My family made it through together. Everything else can be replaced. my prayers are with all.

Are any of the house guests from any of the states that Katrina has hit?

Posted by: L at August 29, 2005 08:25 AM

May "God Bless" all those that are effected and take care of all in harms way.
Even tho I have been in Okla. toronados and the 92' earthquakes in Calif, they both come and go fairly quickly---but water and storms like "Katrina" have lasting effects. Give all the reconstruction people strength to continue, they All need our prayers.
Thank You HamsterDame for posting your message.

HamsterDame, I was hoping this morning that you would post something about Katrina. All my prayers are with those are affected or will be affected.

Hi ya'll,
First of all, thanks to you Hamsterdame and all the rest of you who are sending up prayers for those in the path of Katrina. I live in Birmingham, Alabama, and she is just beginning to hit here with her outer bands. I'm sure we will have very minimal effects here unless we have a tornado, but I thought I would get this off before we lost power. God bless all of ya'll posting on the blog, and all of those who will no doubt be affected for some time by this devastating storm. Makes the bickering in the BB6 house seem so insignificant. Be sure and post all kinds of tidbits so when we get power back I can catch up, LOL. Thanks again and God bless you all.

I'm glad we have our true reality in check. Thanks for taking the time to mention those in the path of Katrina. My prayers have already been sent.

I am not in the path of Katrina, but we are on the east side of the storm. Tonight there were tornados touching down all over the place. One of them came down 8 miles from my mom and dads house. They say that the storm is breaking up and should be much better soon. I hope the ones closer to the storm are okay. My prayers are with you.

***** Note from HamsterDame - Take care of yourself and your family GA girl.

My prayers are with the people in the path of Katrina. I have lived through hurricanes here on the southeast coast of fl. and its no fun. It’s been a year thing are still bad here. Trying to get help to fix your house is hard. But try to hang in there no matter what happens. I wish you all the best of luck Please don’t let anyone try to take your money.

How horrible, my thoughts go out to everyone.

Been praying for all in Katrina's path. This is the first time since 5:30am Sunday morning that I have visited bb house. We've had CNN and the Weather Channel on without a break. My tvs have not been off for 2 days and kept checking NOAA on the web often. Katrina is one humongous storm! Now tonight we heard of the breach in the levee holding back Lake Ponchrtrain and Canal Street is a river. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the storm.
Thanks for posting and giving all of us a place to express our concern for all impacted by Katrina.

Bye bye

If you would like to donate to the relief fund you can call 1-800-helpnow
You may also go to a Red Cross site and donate that way, even if it is just five dollars they need it... It's a complete mess, it would be a good time for the celebraties to not worry about africa for a minute and worry about our own. God Bless them all in my thoughts and prayers!!!

My husband is a Lowe's employee in southeastern Alabama who will be helping with the Hurricane recovery effort. Donations to the Red Cross can also be made at Lowe's Home Improvement Stores, and Lowe's matches these contributions. So, this is an easy way to double your support. Hope this is helpful!

When a natural disaster strikes the community, Lowe's is quick to support the recovery effort with onsite volunteers, product donations and much-needed funds. As a major corporate sponsor of American Red Cross disaster relief efforts, Lowe's (along with its customers and vendor partners) has contributed nearly $6 million to the organization's recovery programs since 2000 and responded to more than 140 disasters in 23 states, from hurricanes and tornadoes to earthquakes, wildfires and floods.

I just heard that 80% of New Orleans is under water and 1000s of people are being rescued from the water and from rooftops.

Prayers and Love and Healing to the Big Easy and all affected. xoxo

I think we should also remember the HG's and their families in prayers. Remember several of them are from the Miami area. Even though it was only a cat. 1 hurricane when it went through there it still did damage. It breaks my heart that there are so many now that have nothing left to go home to.
