Meanwhile, the HGs prepare for the POV comp.

11:00am - Lock down inside the house. Partners are selected for POV. Janelle picks Howie. Jennifer picks April. Maggie picks Ivette.

11:30am - HGs are called out to the back yard. At first glance nothing seems different. Rachel's the first to notice that an oversized replica of a chess board is again present, this time at the bottom of the pool!

April "Well how the heck we s'pose to git down there y'all?"

Howie "Shut up Busto!"

Rachel reads the rules to the POV comp. The HG's have one chance each to swim to the bottom of the pool and attempt to rearrange the chess pieces into a 'check mate' move. Janelle goes first followed by April, both met the same unfortunate end. Apparently their breast augmentations won't allow them to dive to the bottom of the pool.

Next went Beau, not skilled at chess, he merely rearranged the pieces into a funky fashionable white/black pattern. Three down. No points.

Howie went to take his turn but unable to stop verbally harassing April, he inhaled water and needed assistance to get out of the pool. Four down.

Maggie, feeling her odds of winning were pretty good at this point, jumped into the water and rearranged the pieces quickly and returning to the surface. Janelle was happy to point out, "That's check, not check mate you dumb B*****!" Crestfallen, Maggie returned to pool side. 5 down. No points.

Jennifer's turn. She starts to cry (and wink) uncontrollably, forfeiting her turn.

Ivette had been staring at the bottom of the pool without distraction since the beginning of the comp. She knew what she had to do. Into the water she went. She began moving pieces. Then moving some more. Second guessing herself she rearranged what she had just done. She'd been down over 2 minutes. 2 1/2. 3 minutes gone by...

April, "How long y'all think she can go without errrr?"
Maggie, "Brain death occurs a little over 4 minutes."
Beau, "You think we should go get her?"

3 minutes 55 seconds gone...

Ivette emerges from the depths of the pool. She won! Check mate! Something doesn't look quite right. Ivette has a strange dazed look on her face as she looks from HG to HG.

Maggie, "You won! Are you alright?"

Ivette gets a little help from Beau and Jennifer out of the pool. Rachel, fulfilling her role as host to the comp, informs Ivette she must immediately choose whether or not to use the veto.

Ivette, "Oh, I'm going to use the veto alright!"
Rachel, "Who would you like to give the veto to?"
Ivette, "Beau."
Rachel, "Ivette, uh...Beau isn't one of the nominated HGs. You need to pick Maggie or Jennifer if you want to use the veto."
Ivette, speaking in a uncharacteristically thick hispanic accented tone, "Oh no you don't tell me what to do, youknowwhatImean? I am a strong lesbian latina and I will d*** well decide who the f*** I use my veto on not you!"

BB loud speaker voice, "Ivette please report to the diary room."

Ivette, "Oh no you did not! Oh no you did not just call my lesbian latina a$$ to the diary room! I made my decision and I'm not going to no f***ing diary room so put that in your pipe and smoke it!"

BB producers make an executive decision not to show the POV comp on saturday's show...they also started searching WebMD.com for information on anoxic brain injuries. The houseguests dispersed giving Ivette much needed space.

3:00pm - It's Howie's birthday!!! Janelle returns to the kitchen from the storage room with a cake and a card for Howie! All the HG's gather in the kitchen except April. Howie reads his card, it's from his old stripper buddies telling him to use the gym a little more often and ditch the speedo. Howie cries, how touching.

James, "Where's the gift? BB always gets the birthday HG what they been hinting at they want."
Janelle,"Oh, I'll go get it." She giggles and runs back to the storage room.

She returns a few minutes later with April walking in with her. April's hands tied behind her back and duct tape over her mouth. Janelle steers April to where Howie is sitting.

Howie, "What the...?"
Janelle, "Just wait a minute..." Janelle turns to April and says, "Are you ready?"
April nods her head 'yes'. Janelle removes the duct tape.
April, "You have my DOR."
Howie, "What????"
Janelle,"Say it LOUDER!"
April, "YOU HAVE MY DOR!!!!!!!!!!!" (departure on request)

The Friendship gasp and help lead April to the gold room. James raises his eyebrows briefly and finishes eating his cake.

Howie, "Oh, thank you Janie, that's just what I wanted!" Howie give Janelle a kiss. Rachel hugs them both.
Janelle, "Oh, you're welcome Howie, Happy Birthday!"

The Friendship stayed in the gold room the rest of the night helping Maggie, Jennifer, and April pack. Howie, Rachel, Janelle, and James stayed up drinking wine and beer generously provided by the BB Gods.
